Sin is beyond what we believe is wrong, but rather what God says is wrong. Hey guysss,Welcome back! In today's episode, Tomi has some questions for us (yaaaaay!), we reflect on our red and green flags, and speak on the topic of 'second chances'. Ephesians 4:32 says ''And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.'', encouraging as to be compassionate towards others, truly forgiving which relates to second chances. Christ gave us a second chance (multiple chances in fact), so who are to not give second chances to people, BUT! wisdom has to be exercised because a second chance may not mean what you believe it to be, it could also speak to your heart posture towards that person, not thinking or wishing evil upon them but rather praying that God sees them and draws them near to Him. Don't run back to toxic environments in the name of second chances.... apply context and wisdom to everything and most importantly pray and allow God to guide you, He genuinely wants to do life with you. As important as it is to know God, don't forget that God wants to know you too. He wants to look at you and see His child. But how do we walk in this daily? If we look at Matthew 7:22-23 (nkjv of coursseee) it says '' Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'' What I love about these verses is the revelation that reliance and emphasis on our works will not move God to know. We also talk about our season of singleness and our desire for our partners overshadowing our desire for God (a dangerous game btw, don't ever play it). But fr! it is very easy to place your partner before God, if your heart is not fully set and grounded in Him first. This is why that seaosn of being single is so crucial to building the right foundation with Christ before your partner comes along. If you have found yourself placing your partner above God, seek guidance and counsel from God and the godly wsidom He has placed around you, whether that be friends, family, pastors and so forth. He will surely lead you down the right path. Hebrews 13:5 lets us know that God will never leave us or forsake us, He is always there, ready to hear His children. Accepting our limitation as humans can sometimes cause us to not believe or have total faith in the God that we serve. But we must remind ourselves that as children of God, we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, and that it is our heritage to exceed and excel beyond what we believe we are capable of. Hey guyss, Welcome back!  In today's episode, we talk about choosing God's will over our own, denying our flesh and things we have had to let go off since coming to Christ. This is a process we all have to go through at some point in our journey and each one looks different but ultimately all for the glory of God and our own good! God's will is greater than anything we could ever imagine in our lives, if you're struggling to see this, ask Him to reveal it to you and He will. Chai! this one isn't easy, but with Christ everything is possible. The gift of marriage is beautiful desire that has to be stewarded properly in order to truly walk in its' covenant blessings/protection . One way we can steward this desire in a healthy manner is to deepen our relationship with God. Sometimes the intimacy we crave from others can be a result of desiring a deeper connection in general, and who better to connect with than the Almighty God whose love is unfailing and unconditional. So, whenever you catch yourself desiring horizontal connections, examine your vertical connection first and then let God order your steps. Friendships are a key part of our lives in which we should invest in, physically, mentally, emotionally and most of all spiritually. Throughout the bible we are reminded of what true, genuine and godly friendships should look like . An example of this is given in the book of 1 Samuel, from chapter 18 onwards, where we witness the birth of Jonathan and David's friendship, very much rooted in sacrificial love. Hey guyss, Welcome back!  In today's episode, we continue talking about glorfying God in every space we are in, especially in our work spaces, how we spend our downtime/lunchtimes at work and maintaining integrity at work. It can be difficult to stay consistent and honest with the work we do, we all know there's been many times we are supposed to be ''working from home'' but instead we're taking naps, on the phone to friends or watching netflix. One way to stay encouraged is to remember that we do everything for the Lord, so we must work as if God is the one paying us (which when you think about it He is because everything belongs to Him). Hey guyss, Welcome back!  In today's episode, we talk about glorfying God in every space we are in, especially in our work spaces and the moments we have found it hard to do so. It can be difficult to profess your love for Christ in spaces that are designed to go against your morals and values as a Christian, but we have to remember that boldness is our portion and essentially part of our inheritance, if we claim to be children of God, we walk in righteousness. Never be afraid or ashamed to profess the gospel and glorify God and if you have shied away from this in the past, pray for forgiveness and keep going because, at the end of the day, God still loves you, and if we love Him back we cannot be ashamed of who He is. Hey guyss, Welcome back!  In today's episode, we talk about the waiting season, and what to do when the journey doesn't look like what you thought it would, or when you feel like the destination isn't near. Trusting God in seasons of waiting can be very difficult, to not be in control can sometimes be foreign to us as humans but we must always remember that the plans God has for us are always better than our own. We hope this episode encourages you to stay appreciative of the journey and to hold onto faith. God will always show up, His word does not return void to Him. Being swift to hear is more than just listening, but also involves a heart posture that is humble, obedient to God's word, and hungry to understand what is being said. Proverbs 18:13 informs us that ''to answer before listening- this is folly and shame'' It is not always easy but it is possible. One way to cultivate a teachable heart is to be intentional with how you communicate with God and with others. Sometimes just listen, your silence may create space for the answers you need to be provided. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Booyyy this love is heavy, but its not impossible to carry out. Hey guys, ''nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God'' - Romans 8:39 NKJV Today today today! We talk about the times we have been upset with God, and indicators experienced when feeling distant from God. One thing to remember is that, even when we feel distant from God, He is always there, right beside us. The enemy will have us believe that in moments we feel distant from God when we feel like God can't hear us, it's because He doesn't love us. But that is in fact false, they are many verses in the bible that affirms God's love for us, a few that I came across when writing this are: Psalm 94:14 ''For the Lord will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.'' - we need to understand that from the moment we accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we became God's people. God doesn't disown His people, it's not in His nature, so when we feel distant, God still hasn't forgotten us. Matthew 28: 20 ''I am with you always, even to the end of the age'' - God is always with us, through every aspect, season, decision, and moment of life. The good and the bad. Revelation 3:20 ''Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.'' - it takes one decision, one cry, one ''God I need you''. What I love about this verse is the beginning, it makes us aware of how close God is to us, and how fast He can enter any situation and help us through it. He is not miles away, He doesn't need any mode of transportation to reach us. He's right there, waiting for us to let Him in. This just makes me aware of three things, 1. God never forgets His people, He is always thinking about us, about our future, 2. God is always with us in every moment we experience, 3. God wants us to choose to let Him into our lives, into our situations, into the good and bad moments. Life is a journey in which we have the choice to walk through and experience with God. Hey guyyss, Another week, another ep! wow look at us,we actually have to thank God because life is lifing but God will always do His thanngggggg. This ep ...whew.... emotional vulnerability, why do we struggle so much with this. We ask ourselves, is it worth the risk? will I ever be healed? already creating barriers that stop of us from being fully naked emotionally. Vulnerability is a choice, we must choose to be honest with God, our family, and friends, even when its uncomfortable. As a Christian, you cannot do this walk alone, trying to be a Christian independently will only cause you to fall, its important you rely on those around, and those God has placed in your life; we must share each other's burdens. Vulnerability can provide stability. Matthew 26: 36-38 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethesamne, and said to the disciples, ''Sit here while I go and pray over there.''. And he took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then he said to them, ''My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me'' Jesus' vulnerability extends not only to God, but also to His friends around Him by humbling Himself and being honest about His thoughts/feelings. Through His honesty, I learnt that God doesn't want us to be flawless, in fact He doesn't need us to be flawless, but rather honest and humble in our ways, our thoughts and with those around us. This has always baffled me because Jesus could've easily just gone straight to God and expressed how He felt, why did he extend this to Peter and the two sons of Zebedee. I know for sure the answer is not because God isn't enough for us, but maybe by displaying what society may deem as 'weak' and being honest and vulnerable with those around Him, He allows God's glory to take place. His vulnerability became a testimony. Who in their right mind in today's society will die for the sins of many without voicing any concerns. Imagine opening up to a friend about trials you are currently facing e.g., you are in a current state of anxiety, and it doesn't seem to go away, while still praying and opening to God, and over time your anxiety decreases, those you confided not only see this change as well, but they also get to witness the glory/love/gentleness (the list goes on) of God. Every relationship requires emotional vulnerability, from friendships, family dynamics and so forth. No one on this earth is a mind reader! For those that are in relationships, allow God to be at the centre and watch your love transform. Just as much as we want our earthly partners to use their initiative to show that they love us, let us all do the same for God. For all my single guys and gworlss out there, if you seek to be in relationship, seek God first, and the right time you will be blessed with a partner that can love and cheirsh you the way they're supposed to. Hey guyss Am I the dramaaa? There's no way I'm the drama. Patience, boy oh boy, how we long for it. This episode felt like a much-needed therapy session, looking forward to more with the girls. As always, it's good to self-reflect, be honest about where you are in life internally and externally and give the rest to God. Proverbs 14:29 ''Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.'' Basically don't embarrass yourself lol. But honestly, be patient with those around you, and most importantly with yourself. Patience is the ability to wait for something, even if it means waiting years. It is such a key trait to have in life because it is at the root of everything we do, we need patience in friendships, relationships, with family members, clients, jobs, plans, to learn a new skill. Time is the best truth-teller, and we have to let it run its course. Just like Love, Patience is something we must choose, it's an action, so choose Patience. Hey guyyyssssss, Just like that, it's 2022. First and foremost, we thank God for another day, another year and we commit it into His more than capable hands. Like the title says, we're going deeper this year (hopefully lol). Expect vulnerability, humility, openness from all of us including Tomi (heavy on the including, especially regarding vulnerability). In this ep, we spoke about 'New year resolutions and the need to be in control of our own narrative. Don't get it, twisted guys, still have a vision and still have goals, but commit them into God's hands and ask Him, what He thinks. There's a misconception that once you give your life to Christ, you don't have a say what happens in it, but God cares about us, about our heart desires and wants us to have a genuine relationship with Him. So communicate everything to Him and He'll take it from there. We can all agree it's nice when things go ''right'' and the way ''we'' want them to, but always remember whatever good we want for our lives, God will always want better! and who doesn't want better than good (Duuuh)? 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me ''My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'' Therefore I will boast all the more and gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me Never forget that there's peace in not being in control, there's peace in our weakness. When we try to control our narrative we indirectly tell God we don't need Him, His plans or His will for our lives, cause we've planned better.
