The podcast where we are NEVER WRONG - only early. We explain the trends and rate them for you, so you can dress well without fear. You might also learn something too. Hosted by David Shuck, Reed Nelson, and Albert Muzquiz.
Albert returns from his European tour with tales of watches, wonders, French workwear, Portuguese shellfish and more.
It's cold in LA, the DMV is bad, Tilden Jeans are good, free Mahmoud Khalil, 45rpm can be had for a steal on Grailed, and other red hot takes on this week's Neverrong.
Albert regales with tales of the great white north, including his most recent visit to Taco Bell! David laments the difficulty of selling used clothing online and both are bemused about what J.Crew's washed denim suit portends for the future of jeans. No Reed, sorry!
Albert's in Alaska, so Reed and David immediately take the opportunity to discuss Taco Bell. Once that's out of their system, they move on to the new Supreme lookbook, a third round of Tom Sachs Mars Yards, and the weird energy of the Palm Springs Modernism Show.
Denim fits are having a vibe shift...so are graphic tees. We discuss the aftermath of the Super Bowl halftime show and why we still unfortunately have to talk about Kanye.
Albert is heading north, very north and discusses his trip to Alaska for the Fur Trapper Rendezvous which leads Reed down a long discussion of dog sled racing and David fails to get in his Trap House joke. Also discussed the aesthetics of plant ownership, conservatives laughable association with made in USA, and what the tariff situation could mean for clothing. It's fun!
The utility of bandanas, the scourge of AI, the aesthetics of modern conservatism, and the shrinking of Albert's jeans. All are discussed intensely with the absence of Reed on this week's installment of Neverrong.
So social media is pretty much unequivocally evil, now. Albert got some good finds at Greenspan's, David lives his Japanese dream.
Welcome to our first episode of what's shaping up to be a banner year. Our trio discusses the fallout of the LA fires, Kapital's acquisition by LVMH, and how Tiktok has moved us closer to the influence of the CCP with Rednote.
Is this a real Grailed account? We don't know, but we sure can speculate. One thing we can't speculate on is this incredible piece of academia Albert dug up on early 20th century workwear from historian Sunshine Psota: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/288417219_Boss_of_the_road_Early-20th-century_consumer_selections_of_work_clothing_from_Alabama_Gates_Work_Camp_Owens_Valley_California
The Ballad of Luigi Mangione is still being written, but that doesn't stop us from weighing in. Also discuss the wares of the new heir to the Roy Denim throne, Reed's new Paraboots, and the alpaca of Uncle Purl.
It's not Black Friday but it sure feels like it the way things are flying off the shelves and the "deals" are stacking up. Albert can't get his DHL package, Reed muses on the state of loafers, David has a temporal break.
Amiri, in my Zuckerberg?? We discuss the nature of weirdos wearing Rag & Bone jeans, Reed's favorite 19th century baseball player, and Albert's newfound obsession with dictator bedazzled timepieces.
We reckon with what clothes will be like for the next four years. Also, are Paraboots popped?
David can't comprehend a simple cartoon, Reed confounds with fake Amazon brand names, Albert transports us to a new realm of Barbour.
Reed is out, cartoon graphic tees from the 80s and 90s are in! David and Albert discuss California's most overpriced grocery store, the future of vintage, and some good old-fashioned pants.
Would you sell your scent for money? How about a lot of money? Look out for our A.L.D. exclusive invite.
The rerelease of the NN.07 "The Bear" jacket leads the boys down a rabbit hole of when is acceptable/desirable to wear the thing you saw in a movie or tv show. They also get into the new Trump watch and the future of small menswear brands.
Albert contemplates a new (old stock) watch, David contemplates the replacement for his 990v5s, Reed clashes with paper towel opinions, and everyone does their best to determine the meaning of dress codes from "Garden Party" to "White Tie. Tips, tricks, suggestions: neverrongpod@gmail.com
We discuss everything from the joys of public pools, our ideal swimwear, and the agony and ecstasy of current campaign merch.
The boys are back in their respective towns and ready to tell you about their summer trends and experiences, including, but not limited to, white and distressed denim, the rise of good product at mall brands, and international inbred dog pimps.
The boys are at their very best debating what (if any) trends are important this season. They discuss, at great length, the human centipede of trends. David has lots to say about the privatization of the airlines (and how it changed leather jacket history) and Reed (as usual) is thinking about shoes.
Second show and tell of the year and this one is a goooood one. The boys are in fine form discussing hypebeast cousins, cavalry charges, and all matter of goodness. The gang catches up on the things on the internet that have been bugging and intriguing them. Carbon Monoxide poisonings, bad Hinge prompts, and sending DMs to the wrong people. As always, check the Substack.
The first episode back! We're bringing you more Show n Tell episodes as we work to make our usual full-length episodes even bigger and better than ever before! The boys have new watches, new boots, and new jeans - and are dying to talk about bad tiktok business practices, ballet flats for boys, and what's coming up next in menswear. Enjoy! As ever, our show notes are published on Substack.
When the first J. Crew catalog came out in 1983, it said the brand was based on 100 years of craftsmanship, which was just a lie. The brand had just started and since then, has reached dizzying highs and terrifying lows. Courtesy of Brendon Babenzien, the brand is back after a fallow period and a bankruptcy in 2020. Albert leads the boys through the brand's long history and our own thoughts and feelings around the "legendary" brand that had to make up its own legend. As always, read along on our substack. (If you want a more thorough version of this history, read "Kingdom of Prep" by Maggie Bullock.) Theme song by Soraya Perry.
The guys get together again for another legendary Show and Tell episode! Enjoy! Theme music by Soraya Perry. Check out the Substack to read along.
David walks the gang through Chefcore, the latest iteration of Blue Collar cosplay that's sweeping through the fashion world. From the origin of the big white hat that Ratatouille rats work in to modern (and misguided?) collabs between fashion brands and hip restaurants, we try to wrap our heads around this one. Theme song by Soraya Perry. Read along on our substack!!
A humdinger, a laugh-fest, a joy for your ears to behold. We got a little extra silly with tiktok trends we can't get off our minds (and screens). But brought it back to fashion with a litany of weird co-branded Rolex watches and the fate of the sneaker resale market. It's a fun one, if I do say so myself. (Read along here.) Theme music by Soraya Perry.
Fisherman sandals, Mary Janes, huaraches - the shoes are dainty, they're leather, and they're showing up everywhere! Who better to walk us through the trend and the history of these non-sneaker, non-loafer footwear options than Reed! Reed loves his birks, his mules, and he's our man on the street in Brooklyn where mfs are on the bleeding edge of binary-busting little shoes like these. As always, you can read along for important links and the like on our Substack. Theme song by Soraya Perry.
Jorts swept the nation this summer and Albert sits down with the guys to figure out....why? The fellas lay out the many kinds of jorts (kinds both good and dumb) and spend way too much time laughing at an unfortunate ssense model. We delve into the history of jorts (and shorts more broadly) and get to the bottom of things. As always, you can read along on our Substack. Theme music by Soraya Perry.
After learning about Hey Dudes during our ON episode, David takes a deep dive (as deep as you can) into the history of the BEST-SELLING SHOE IN AMERICA. From Italy to Zappos to an insurrection near you, we trace the history of this god-awful shoe and lament its creation. As always, you can read along on our Substack. Theme song by Soraya Perry.
Show and Tell 2 is here! A little audio-morsel from your three favorite guys showing (but mostly telling) some of their new favorite pieces. As always, you can read along on our Substack. Theme song by Soraya Perry.
David explains to the boys (and you) where these new gray shoes came from. ON running went from a whisper on the wind to a state of omnipresence that baffles us. Now they're becoming a sneaker industry titan -- and all from gluing garden hoses to a shoe?? You can read along on our Substack to see all the relevant images and get all the important links and read more beautiful words from our brains Theme song by Soraya Perry.
Welcome to Neverrong's Show & Tell #1! Our every-other episodes that inject a little more silliness into your week! Each of us brings a topic that's been weighing on our smooth brains and we hash it out for your benefit and our amusement. We talk KITH x Brian Cox, Alden embezzlement, and cursed Conservative merch. As always you can read along on our Substack. Theme song by Soraya Perry.
Albert takes the boys on a journey through the wonderful world of trucker hats. Recorded back in March, so some aspects of our personal lives have changed, and though the trucker may have lost some of its buzz, the trend is as strong as ever. Learn about "gimme hats," some advertising history, and the ever-present specter of capitalism. You can read along on our Substack to see all the relevant images and get all the important links and see more beautiful words from our brains. Theme song by Soraya Perry.
