Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesThe potential sale of Warner Bros Discovery has been a hot topic in recent weeks, but no one could have predicted the escalation and heightened stakes the bidding war has reached as Paramount CEO David Ellison announced a hostile takeover bid to the tune of $108.4 billion in response to what he described as Netflix's inferior $82.7 billion deal; a deal that seemed like an all but assured thing just days ago. It's been an uncharacteristically long time since James Gunn has given us a headline, but we may still be a day late and dollar short, as on Sunday the DC Studios head released a 10 second first look at Supergirl via social media, with the promise of the teaser trailer later in the week; which many have speculated to mean Thursday… Thanks, James! Also concerning DC: Four years after leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind, Scarlett Johansson seems headed for Gotham City, with the actress in final negotiations to join The Batman Part II. Details about Johansson's potential role are being closely guarded, though speculation has already run rampant about which iconic Batman character she might portray, though being a new love interest for Bruce Wayne in some capacity is a popular guess in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Zoe Kravitz might not reprise her role in the sequel.More than seven years after its original theatrical run, Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame, the second-highest-grossing film of all time, back to theaters September 25, 2026 just months before Avengers: Doomsday later that December. While it's still unknown how long the Russos Brothers' last MCU contribution will be back to the big screen, the placement between the releases of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Doomsday in December, has fueled industry insider speculation suggesting the new Avengers film will act as a direct sequel to Endgame rather than closely following the events of Phases 4 through 6.HBO has revealed that the third season of Euphoria will begin streaming in April of 2026. This comes more than four years after Season 2 finished in February 2022.Hulu has renewed the Glen Powell led sports comedy series Chad Powers for a second season.20th Century Studios announced The Simpsons Movie 2 has been delayed from July 23, 2027 to September 3, 2027. Paramount and Blumhouse are reviving the Paranormal Activity franchise and bringing on James Wan to produce a new feature film in the franchise according to the Hollywood Reporter. Variety and CNN have revealed the star-studded lineup for the 23rd season of Actors on Actors. Some of the participants include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Julia Roberts, and Ariana Grande. Sony Pictures has tapped Bad Boys For Life writer Chris Bremner to pen a new Men In Black film. Although plot details are not public, sources tell Deadline that when the script is complete, original series star Will Smith will be the first to read it in hopes that he will return to the franchise in some capacity. Prime Video has released the first trailer for the final season of The Boys. The show has an updated release date of April 8, 2026, which will see the release of two episodes. Episodes will then drop weekly, leading to the series finale on May 20th. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opened to $109 million dollars worldwide over the weekend, a strong opening for the franchise. Additionally, last weekend's champion Zootopia 2 is nearing the one billion dollar mark with $915 million dollars worldwide so far. Sigourney Weaver is in talks to join the upcoming Tomb Raider series for Prime Video. Sophie Turner is set to star as Lara Croft, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge on as writer and executive producer.
All week long, we're looking into 10 new terms and concepts that are certain to be on everyone's lips in 2023! In December 2022, New York magazine ran a cover which got a lot of attention. It featured the heads of a number of Hollywood celebs like Lily-Rose Depp, Ben Platt, Dakota Johnson and Zoe Kravitz, all edited onto babies' bodies. In the centre of the page the bright pink headline read: “She Has Her Mother's Eyes. And Agent.” The article inside labelled 2022 the “Year of the Nepo Baby”. What those celeb babies all have in common is that they're the children of famous, successful parents. That's where the “nepo” part comes from, as in nepotism. Right from the get go, these kids had an advantage or arguably a sure road to success. Isn't that obvious? That's been the case forever, hasn't it? What do nepo babies themselves have to say on the issue? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! Recent headlines claim actress Zoë Kravitz left a pet python behind in Taylor Swift’s mansion — a story that resurfaced just as winter conditions worsened. The show opens with a nationwide chill as the U.S. braces for record-breaking freezing temperatures thanks to a powerful arctic blast sweeping across much of the country. Forecasters warn that more than 200 million Americans will be plunged into sub-freezing conditions, with many regions expecting historically cold highs and lows this week. Against that backdrop, celebrity gossip heats up: recent headlines claim actress Zoë Kravitz left a pet python behind in Taylor Swift’s mansion — a story that resurfaced just as winter conditions worsened. The segment has the hosts joking, worrying (for the snake), and wondering how wild fame gets when pets and parties mix. Jumping from pets to partnerships, the show dissects news that reality-star Kandi Burruss claims her estranged husband’s prenup is invalid, insisting he’s not being faithful — a revelation that ignited debate about trust, money, and marriage under public scrutiny. Darren Aronofsky follows up his divisive Oscar-winner, The Whale, with a throwback to 90s capers. Caught Stealing is an After Hours pastiche without any ego and a studio potboiler aimed right down the middle of the road, it just happens to star one of the most charismatic casts assembled in 2025. Jeff and Derek discuss the star power of Austin Butler, the few surprises the film has in store, and this strange departure from Aronofsky's typical auteurism. Tune in!

Acclaimed Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Whale, The Wrestler) returns to the big screen with what MIGHT be his most audience-friendly caper yet....this is the story of a burned-out ex-baseball player named Hank (Oscar-nominee Austin Butler) who unexpectedly finds himself embroiled in a dangerous struggle for survival of late '90's New York City. Upon doing his neighbor Russ (Matt Smith) a favorite while he goes out of town, Hank soon has various unsavory characters who come calling....and the only people who can apparently help him are his long-suffering girlfriend/medic Yvonne (Zoe Kravitz) and NYPD Detective Roman (Oscar-Winner Regina King) who's on the case. Also along for the ride during this increasingly violent crime comedy/drama are Griffin Dunne, Bad Bunny, Action Bronson, Carol Kane, Liev Schreiber, and Vincent D'Onofrio. Our latest guest on Soundtracking is Darren Aronofsky, who returns to the podcast to discuss his comedy crime thriller, Caught Stealing. Starring Austin Butler, Regina King, Matt Smith, Zoe Kravitz and Liev Schreiber among others, it tells the story of New York bartender Hank Thompson, who finds himself in all manner of trouble with a motley crue of gangsters and lowlives when he agrees to look after his neighbours cat. The score was written by Rob Simonson and performed hy IDLES, who also wrote some original pieces for the film themselves. Darren goes into great detail about their collaboration.

It's Pop Culture Thursday, and Jared is dishing a headline buffet straight from Page Six. He dives into the Taylor Swift multiverse — from her “announcement of an announcement” album drop to Marvel-movie-level Easter eggs that keep superfans in overdrive. Jared riffs on Swift's internet tribalism, the romantic economics of dating her (hi, Travis Kelce), and even a snake-related bathroom demolition courtesy of Zoe Kravitz. Along the way, he skewers wild fan theories, Martha Stewart's Real Housewives shade, and Leonardo DiCaprio's so-called “mortified” pat-down. Add in Dua Lipa birthday buzz, a Vanity Fair shake-up, and one eyebrow-raising Kelly Clarkson ex subplot, and you've got an episode that's equal parts gossip, comedy, and “did he just say that?”
Seth takes a closer look at the Trump administration threatening to send National Guard troops to more cities after taking control of the D.C. police. Then, Zoë Kravitz talks about finding her New York City apartments on Craigslist back in the day, working with Austin Butler in Caught Stealing and destroying Taylor Swift's bathroom while staying there during the L.A. fires.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
