James Pertalli is the singer, guitarist, and a founding member of White Denim. Their twelfth record “12” is set to be released on 12.12 via Bella Union.  James shares his journey from baseball to rock n roll, how the “absurd career choice” paralleled his dad's and why learning how to talk about music was his ticket into his formative music circles. James tells us how “12” is drastically different from previous White Denim records, why he thinks being creative is inarguably the most positive thing he can do, and he explains his process of “live mixing”. Connecticut based quartet Eggy recently released their sophomore record Waiting Game. As you'll soon hear the process for this album was different than records and EPs of the past. The band who recruited White Denim guitarist James Petralli to produce the record purposefully wrote fresh material for the album that they didn't play live until more recently. They also decided to let drummer Alex Bailey handle all the lead vocals on the record. What emerged from the sessions and ultimately became Waiting Game is a fresh record filled with poppy hooks, impressive production and yes the harmonies and musicianship we've come to expect from Eggy. DAIISTAR - "Speed Jesus" from the 2023 album Good Time on Fuzz Club Records Austin, TX psych-rock band DAIISTAR shine on their debut LP Good Time. The album was produced by Alex Maas of The Black Angels and engineered by James Petralli of White Denim. Formed in the Spring of 2020, Alex Capistran (vocals/guitar), Nick Cornetti (drums), Misti Hamrick (bass) and Derek Strahan (keys) escaped the doldrums of the pandemic through sonic waves of guitar.  “To us, these songs were a glimmer of light," Capistran says in a press release. “Starting a band at the peak of the pandemic to some might seem ill-timed, but to us it was a way to escape for a moment. There was something to look forward to and we kept our heads in the future. These songs guided us through some dark times and hopefully they can do the same for you.
