Welcome to the hardboiled streets of 90s Chicago where a crime wave is at an all time high. It's up to you, officer Don Marshall, and you, Unnamed Female, to fight crime with as many bullets as possible. Then travel to the Wild West to also fight crime with as many bullets as possible. This is Konami's Lethal Enforcers arcade series. How was a knee-burning, motion-sensing game responsible for adding another arcade to the Lethal Enforcers family? Do you know all the words to the Hey Dude theme song? Is the Justifier the best possible name for a light gun peripheral? Was this game an inspiration for a certain scene in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight? We are asked what our favorite gun design is from arcade light guns (and our least favorite) and perhaps the question that Rob has been waiting his entire life to answer: who would win in the ultimate showdown between Aliens versus Predator versus RoboCop versus Terminator. Join the Podouken Discord and ask your own questions that could be included in a future episode: discord.gg/k5vf2Jz You can also like, comment, and subscribe to our YouTube channel where we post our listener question segments and additional content: https://www.youtube.com/@podoukenpodcast2716

It's been a couple of months since we returned from our magical weekend in Los Angeles at what would have been Splatcon if Splatcon hadn't been canceled the MORNING OF the event via one Instagram post. But some incredible and kind women we're lucky enough to know helped flip this event for us into a childhood dream come true. We recap it here and discuss some plans for Season 5, which is just around the corner. We are heartbroken by the devastation in this city that welcomed us for such a beautiful weekend just a couple of months ago, and even more so for the kind and hard-working people in LA who are suffering. If you are in a position to help and feel inclined, check out the Wildfire Recovery Fund at https://www.calfund.org/funds/wildfire-recovery-fund/. If you are in LA, stay safe. Warning: We say some bad words sometimes on this show. Follow us on social media!@yaydudecast on Instagramyaydudecast@gmail.com

On July 11th 2024, when his mother dropped him off at his cousin's residence around 10:30 AM she never thought it would be the last time she would see him. After spending approximately 20 minutes there, he departed on foot, leaving behind his phone and any form of money. There are reports that suggest John was trying to locate his wife whom may have been having an affair with another man. Since that day, there have been no sightings or reports of him, raising concerns among family and friends. The following day, July 12th, his wife sought refuge at a domestic violence shelter located in Searcy, Arkansas, where she remained for an additional 12 days at Compass Health, a local mental health facility. Upon her release, she was apprehended at her new boyfriend's home due to outstanding warrants. After moving in with her new partner, she displayed little to no concern for John's well-being, only acknowledging his absence 54 days after he went missing. Although she initially agreed to undergo a polygraph test, she ultimately chose to forgo it, further complicating the investigation. Her lack of cooperation with law enforcement has raised eyebrows, especially as she has only reached out to the minor children in the family while deliberately avoiding communication with adult relatives. This behavior has led to increased scrutiny regarding her involvement in John's disappearance. Search dogs were deployed to track John's scent, which led investigators to her new boyfriend's residence; however, the trail went cold at that point. At the time he vanished, John was dressed in a light blue t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts, and Hey Dude shoes, a casual outfit that painted a picture of an ordinary day. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain shrouded in mystery, leaving family and friends desperate for answers and hoping for his safe return. Tonight we are joined by his sister Jamie and family advocate Christy. There's so much going on in culture this week, and writer Sophia Benoit joins Jodi to dive right in. First, they go rapid fire on all the hot girl shit that happened on the internet this week, including Hoda Kotb's retirement (6:15), the ‘Apple' dance creator's controversial moment at the NYC Sweat concert (9:42), Anna Delvey's final moments on ‘Dancing With the Stars' (17:53), and Sydney Sweeney's baffling Hey Dude shoes campaign (21:15). Then they do a much-deserved Hater's Corner on the recently announced casting of Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie in Emerald Fennell's ‘Wuthering Heights' (30:40), and examine the elements of a niche event scam from the recent ‘Bridgerton' ball grift (36:22). Finally, they talk about what they've been watching, including the beenado story line of ‘9-1-1' (45:20) and the last half of ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' (56:00), and share their personal obsessions for the week (1:08:30).
