Since the release of her stunning debut EP, ‘Glitter Skies’, Sara Ryan has gone from being one of Irish folk music’s hidden gems, to its ‘New Artist of the Year’ at the 2017 Irish Folk Awards. Such recognition is unsurprising to anyone lucky enough to have followed Sara’s career from the beginning. Extensive touring in Europe attracted growing audiences with each visit, and her veritable songwriting and storytelling talents have been lauded by fellow homegrown artists including Christy Moore, Mick Flannery, and Jack L. //FACEBOOK // BUY 'HUMAN' // --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-heads/message

Send videos/images to : rockprops@googlemail.com Back in the post Thin Lizzy days, Laurence Archer wrote and performed with Phil Lynott. Sadly, Grand Slam was cut short in its prime, with Philip Lynott’s untimely death leaving a hole in the fabric of rock music to this day. Laurence went on to make his name playing with UFO but always nurtured a long-term plan to rebuild the Grand Slam machine. And here it is — primed and ready. The new band (Laurence alongside Mike Dyer, Benjy Reid and Dave Boyce) honours the traditions of the band’s history whilst also looking to the future — classic tracks co-written by Lynott and Archer sit alongside a set of brand new songs that embody the same ethos of freedom, positivity and adrenaline that ran through Grand Slam in 1984. - THE SHORT CLIP (30SECS) AT THE END IS THE ORIGINAL PHILIP RECORDING OF 'DEDICATION' Original line-up Phil Lynott - bass guitar, lead vocals Doish Nagle - rhythm guitar Laurence Archer - lead guitar Mark Stanway - keyboards Robbie Brennan - drums Current line-up Laurence Archer - guitar Mike Dyer - vocals Dave Boyce - bass Benjy Reid - drums WEBSITE // FACEBOOK --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-heads/message

JJ Bloom, the alias of Irish songwriter Conor Mc Quaid, has spent the last three years building up his home studio and writing music to prepare for his debut release, ‘Always You’. The track was written, produced and mixed by Bloom, and mastered by Fergal Davis (Muse, Republic of Loose, The Divine Comedy). The song uses an extraordinarily catchy guitar riff throughout that epitomises Bloom’s soul, funk and RnB influences. Though only 23, Bloom has already proven himself to be an experienced songwriter having co-written the songs ‘I Won’t Be Leaving’ and ‘Supernatural’ with Jake Carter, as well as yet to be released tracks with French artists Le trottoir d’en face and John Linhart. To date, he has also performed at the rather fitting Bloom Festival, UCD Freshers Fair and supported Jake Carter in the Draiocht. Two definitions of The Final Frontier by Davie Furey : a part of a country, region, etc. that is the last to be settled, explored, or developed. :the extreme limit of understanding or achievement in a particular area Although this song wasn’t written with these times in mind, it is somewhat eerily apt. During this lock down it is possible to be exploring, developing, understanding and achieving in ways we may have not thought possible in our “normal” lives. This song, The Final Frontier , deals with new beginnings, facing fears and getting out of our comfort zones. Like many other musicians and artists, my gigs have been cancelled (Tours of Germany, US and Irish shows) so I do appreciate your support and thank you for listening to my music. I am very aware it is a tough time for a lot of radio stations and publications too, and if I can help in any way please ask. However, we will get through this together, and I look forward to seeing you soon. Stay safe, stay healthy and mind each other. Davie x Fureys' debut album 'Easy Come Easy Go' was very well received in audiences across the country having been showcased by RTÉ, BBC Radio both home and abroad, resulting in a worldwide publishing deal with Universal Music. Nominated three years in a row by The Pure M Awards, for Best Newcomer, Best Male Artist and Best Irish Solo Act. Davie’s knack for telling a story through song and his ability to engage a crowd have resulted in many sold out shows on his previous tours. The Final Frontier is taken from the forthcoming album Haunted Streets. Pat Coldrick's session work and classical appearances have earned him a reputation of being one of the finest and most versatile guitarists in Ireland. As well as his touring performances, he has appeared on National Radio and T.V. and studied with world renowned guitarists David Russell and Gabriel Esterellas. His music defies genre and appeals to a wide cross section of music lovers. While Pat plays his own arrangements of great classical pieces, it is his own compositions that sets him apart – pieces such as Lament, CityJam and Antarctica. Universal Music Ireland are delighted to announce the release of ‘The Last Goodbye’ – a collection of Christie’s beautifully crafted hits, re-recorded with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The album, released November 16th , presents Christie’s unique vocals accompanied by the 45 piece orchestra. This one-disc collection will feature 10 classic titles including the timeless version of ‘Messenger Boy’ sung in that unique delicate Kerry voice taken from his first ever LP. ‘Oh Jealous Heart’ and ‘Soho Square’ both get new treatment with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra creating that effortless and exhilarating accompaniment. The record also features some of his most beautifully penned songs including ‘Remember Me’ and not forgetting the country influenced ‘All The Lies That You Told Me’ (which had been a huge success as a single for Frances Black). The album also includes two beautiful duets with daughter Hermione on ‘Every Time A Star Falls’ featured on “A Friend of Mine” and ‘If You Were To Fall (And I Was To Fall In Love With You)’ taken from his multi-platinum selling album “A Year In The Life”.Christie Hennessy has been at the forefront of Irish music and folk music, his career spanning over 30 years and now fans will get to hear his wonderful songs and marvellous lyrics as the colourful legend lives on. Family always mattered hugely to Christie and his children Hermione, Tim and Amber became an increasingly central part of the story. They were all singers and musicians and they loved the creative interplay with him. Hermione recalls of her father “he took people on an emotional journey – from every high of happiness, through great, side-splitting laughter, to every touching piece of sadness… but as always with a sense of possibility and renewal.”The RTÉ Concert Orchestra were conducted on the album by Gavin Maloney who has worked with Ulster Orchestra, Crash Ensemble and National Chamber Choir. Gavin Moloney teamed up along-side Christie’s son Tim Hennessy orchestrator, producer and mix engineer for the album. Carrying on his father’s legacy and fulfilling his Dad’s dream to hear his songs performed by an orchestra. One of Christie’s very favourite albums was Harry Neilssen’s 'A Little Touch of Schmillson 'in the night…. and here it is realised…. but with his beautiful songs. This episode is supported by SuirDzign & Viking PromotionsTo subscribe to the podcast, go to 'Apple Podcasts' or 'Google Podcasts' or wherever you get your podcasts.Click on ‘subscribe’.
