Episode 51 is a focus on Racism in Football/Soccer. In this episode @Ruairispooner and @James_Veck give their opinions on how racism is impacting on the football world. Episode run down. Part 1 - Bernardo Silva sent out a tweet that people felt was racist. Was it really racist? Or just ignorance/Naivety coming from a decent heart? - Peter Beardsley has been suspended from football for 7 months after the racial allegations against him were found to be true. We look at what was said and done. - John Barnes believes that both Silva and Beardsley are innocent of any wrong doing. But do both incidents carry the same energy? - Should footballers be considered Role Models? We use examples of racist behaviour to analyse this. - Is Racism a society problem first and a football problem 2nd? What is footballs role in combating racism? - Romelu Lukaku. He's only been in Italy 2 minutes and has been abused left right and centre. We look at what's gone on. - We also give a mention to Paul Pogba and Graeme Souness. Are the Souness attacks on Paul Pogba racially motivated? Part 2 after the interval. - John Barnes asked it first - so we asked it second. Is the media designed to be a reflection of society? Or is it designed to influence society. - There's clearly a Raheem Sterling agenda. We look at the headlines and talk about Sterling's strength of character and the racial divide newspapers cause. - We ask the question about evolution. Given that so many people make mistakes, at what stage are we allowed to apologise, move forward and grow? - Our European counterparts have a very relaxed attitude towards blackface.
