Hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of Unseen Incidents. The transfer window is open, so this week we're talking three players who need an escape from their current clubs. Marcus Rashford wants out of Manchester United, but what has he got left to offer, and why do none of the suitors make sense? Jack Grealish is clearly irrelevant at City, but would a switch to Spurs help? And Eduardo Camavinga remains one of the best young midfielders in the world, so why isn't he treated that way at Real Madrid? Then it's the Burn Book, with sex segregation, non-fiction, and cafetières. Thanks for listening, and please consider subscribing at Patreon.com/patrickvs for the bonus episodes.

Rob Dawson, Mark Ogden and James Olley discuss three men facing uncertain futures for different reasons. The trio wonder what the future holds for Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish should they leave Manchester United and Manchester City respectively, and wonder how much longer Ange Postecoglou can withstand the pressure at Tottenham. There's also a look ahead to the FA Cup 3rd round, headlined by Arsenal vs. Manchester United, with all games available to watch live on ESPN+ (U.S. only). Learn more about your ad choices. It's time for The Truth! With Manchester City coming into the international break having lost four games in a row for the first time under Pep Guardiola, Sam Tighe and Dougie Critchley take a deep dive into what exactly is going on in the blue side of Manchester, and if they can recover their sparkling form to win a fifth title in a row.Whilst the injuries to key players - namely Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne - have obviously played a huge role in this poor streak, is there something deeper going on? Pep has always liked to work with a smaller squad than usual, but have they pushed the boundaries too far in not finding adequate replacements for key men in a time of strife? There's also further questions - have City gone too hard on bringing in players who can create within the system and left them short in terms of goalscoring options outside of Erling Haaland? And why has John Stones not really been utilised in defensive midfield given the obvious deficiencies there in Rodri's absence? So, is this a question of poor squad planning finally getting the better of Manchester City's tight-knit unit? Is Pep being too stubborn with his choices in playing an aging midfield who look physically deficient? Or are City maybe not quite as good as they were last year? The Truth is somewhere in the middle... And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
Joe Bray and Alex James discuss Manchester City's three defeats on the spin and ask where Pep Guardiola goes from here to turn the form around? Joe reveals how Guardiola's moody press conference will affect the City camp ahead of the trip to Brighton, and we discuss the manager's not-so-subtle criticism of England boss Lee Carsley over his decision to include Jack Grealish in his latest squad. Chris and Kyle are back together for the first time since Euro 2024 to dig really deep into what happened at Euro 2024, from inside the England camp. The pair go back to the start of the tournament and work their way through chronologically, breaking down the big calls from the manager in terms of the initial squad selection - Grealish in or out - and going through the group stages in great detail, analysing what went right - and wrong - against Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia, before England navigated the group stages. Together they talk about the goals, the negative reaction from the fans, dealing with the boo-boys, and what kept the squad amused during camp. And the pair get into the weeds on the tactics, on the big moments in each game, why Kyle didn't think about shooting when one v one in the opening game, and just what exactly you can get from a "hoy" into the box in the 4th minute of injury time needing a goal to progress to the quarter-finals.

Adam Hurrey is joined by Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker for the Adjudication Panel. The agenda includes: an alternative methodology for calculating England's "years of hurt", the latest a team can take the lead "inside X minutes", the scourge of midfielders being included among the "forwards" in international squad graphics, the obligatory Euro 2024 "dark horses" debate, the Jack Grealish/Hellmann's mayonnaise Euros marketing calamity and obscure Arsenal figures namechecked in video games Meanwhile, the panel weigh up the merits of Germany vs Scotland as an opening game and field some important listener questions on hailing, left pegs and players who can "slot in".
