Here's another chance to hear my Big Interview with Ryan Fraser from season four. When I caught up with my fellow Aberdonian, life was a beach under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. Ryan has since moved on to Newcastle United, and perhaps it was fated that Eddie has ended up at St James' Park, too. We heard how Eddie made his charges better players – and men, and how team-bonding incorporated everything from golf to paddle boarding.Ryan is an incredibly versatile player and is able to analyse the beautiful game with great clarity. He told us about some of his best performances in a Cherries jersey, including defensive heroics against Eden Hazard and the towering Peter Crouch. The Tifo team reflects on a fascinating draw between Spurs and Liverpool. Things get a little heated between Seb and JJ over the Robertson v Kane red card stuff... Plus, plenty more failed attempts to agree over Ederson's challenge on Ryan Fraser and whether Arsenal are improving or just playing some really bad teams...
Emma Saunders is joined by former West Ham teammates Nigel Reo-Coker and Carlton Cole and EA presenter Nubaid Haroon to reflect on Sunday's Premier League matches. Tottenham's thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool caused a stir with some controversial refereeing decisions as Andy Robertson was sent off for a challenge on Emerson Royal in the second half. But should Harry Kane have met a similar fate after a high tackle on Robertson in the first half? Jurgen Klopp gives another spicy interview to Rob Nothman… Klopp didn't quite suggest he was Rob's puppy this time but he wasn't too happy with one question. The guys share what they thought of some of the decisions and whether Antonio Conte will be disappointed his side didn't take all three points. Liverpool's failure to win means Manchester City are three points clear at the top at Christmas after they beat Newcastle 4-0. That win wasn't without controversy either, with Newcastle adamant they should have had a penalty after Ederson took out Ryan Fraser in the box when City were 2-0 up. Hear what Alan Shearer made of that (SPOILER: He wasn't too impressed). Pep Guardiola also says he dropped some players because their behaviour off the pitch in the run up to Christmas has not been up to standard. The guys discuss whom Guardiola might be referring to and Nigel has a VERY interesting take on why Newcastle fans might not be too fussed if they get relegated… And Thomas Tuchel wasn't too happy after the Premier League rejected their request to postpone their game at Wolves due to a covid outbreak in the squad. They were held to a goalless draw at Molineux, which leaves them six points adrift of the top, so was Tuchel right to be annoyed about the game going ahead? TOPICS 04:48 - Refereeing decisions in Tottenham v Liverpool 13:34 - Jurgen Klopp interview with Rob Nothman 20:36 - Will Conte be disappointed with just a point? 23:34 - Manchester City going three points clear at the top 27:02 - Guardiola's expectations from players off the pitch 32.54 - Alan Shearer on Newcastle not being awarded a penalty 37.52 - Nigel on Newcastle fans not being bothered about relegation 42.25 - Thomas Tuchel on Chelsea's covid outbreak
In the era of hyper professionalism, it's refreshing to see Radja Nainggolan determined to never play for Belgium again because he'd rather have a smoke. Ryan Fraser should've used that justification for dropping out of Scary Steve's Scotland squad.Marcus, Luke and Vish look ahead to some crucial qualifiers as Scotland inspire some confidence, Wales plant some seeds and Harry Kane looks to shake off some poor form.
