Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Selasa, 19 Mei 2026Bacaan: "Karena jika aku memberitakan Injil,... Sebab itu adalah keharusan bagiku. Celakalah aku, jika aku tidak memberitakan Injil." (1 Korintus 9:16)Renungan: Rasul Paulus adalah salah satu rasul luar biasa, yang dipakai Allah. Kehidupannya semula adalah musuh Allah. Namun, pada akhirnya ia berbalik menjadi saksi Allah. Keberanian dan kegigihan Paulus memberitakan Injil sangat besar. Keberhasilan pelayanan Paulus tidak hanya pada dirinya sendiri, tetapi juga terhadap orang-orang hebat yang ia didik, seperti Timotius dan Titus. Ada beberapa teladan didikan Paulus yang dapat kita ambil, pertama, Paulus berani menyuarakan kebenaran Injil. Paulus tidak pernah takut mati dalam memberitakan Injil Kristus. la sangat berani bahkan ia menulis dalam Filipi 1:21 "karena bagiku hidup adalah Kristus dan mati adalah keuntungan". Teladan hidup Paulus mengajarkan kita untuk tidak ragu dalam melayani Tuhan dan berbicara tentang kasih-Nya kepada orang lain. Karena itu, mari jangan ragu menyediakan diri untuk melayani Tuhan dengan berkaca dari teladan Paulus. Meskipun ia berlatar belakang yang jauh dari Allah, ia berbalik menjadi pemberita Injil yang luar biasa. Meskipun masa lalu kita penuh dosa dan kesalahan, seperti Paulus, kita dapat menjadi "alat" Tuhan untuk memberitakan Injil sebagai didikan yang harus dilakukan dan dikerjakan sepanjang hidup kita. Ascensión del Señor - Ciclo A Mt 28,16-20 28,16 Los once discípulos fueron a Galilea, a la montaña donde Jesús los había citado. 28,17 Al verlo, se postraron delante de él; sin embargo, algunos todavía dudaron. 28,18 Acercándose, Jesús les dijo: «Yo he recibido todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra. 28,19 Vayan, entonces, y hagan que todos los pueblos sean mis discípulos, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, 28,20 y enseñándoles a cumplir todo lo que yo les he mandado. Hermanos, dice san León Magno en una homilía para esta solemnidad: «Hoy no sólo hemos sido constituidos poseedores del paraíso, sino que con Cristo hemos ascendido, mística pero realmente, a lo más alto de los cielos, y conseguido por Cristo una gracia más inefable que la que habíamos perdido».[1] La Ascensión del Señor fortalece y alienta nuestra esperanza en el cielo. Nos impulsa a levantar el corazón y a buscar las cosas de arriba. Nuestra esperanza es grande, porque Cristo mismo ha ido a prepararnos una morada. Y, como exhorta san Agustín, «hoy nuestro Señor Jesucristo subió al cielo; suba también con Él nuestro corazón».[2] El Señor está en el cielo con su cuerpo glorificado. Nunca dejó de estar junto al Padre; pero ahora su humanidad santísima, glorificada, está sentada a su derecha. Y está allí llevando en su cuerpo las señales de su sacrificio: las huellas de los clavos, las marcas de la Pasión, las heridas de su amor. Esas llagas hablan de redención y claman por la salvación del mundo. Por eso santo Tomás enseña que la Ascensión de Cristo es causa de nuestra salvación, porque nos abrió el camino para subir al cielo.[3] Cristo, que entregó su vida por cada uno de nosotros, nos espera en el cielo. Por eso puede decir san Pablo que nuestra ciudadanía está en los cielos (cf. Flp 3, 20). Seguimos caminando en esta tierra, en medio de dificultades, sufrimientos, dolores e incomprensiones; pero también avanzamos con alegría, con serenidad y con esperanza, porque sabemos que somos amados por Dios y que nuestra patria definitiva no está aquí. Y si alguna vez la perspectiva del cielo se nos oscurece, o si el corazón se nos llena de tristeza, conviene acudir a María, como lo hicieron los apóstoles después de la Ascensión. Ellos perseveraban en la oración junto con la Madre de Jesús (cf. Hch 1, 14). En esa espera aprendieron a comprender mejor lo que el Señor estaba realizando y a dejarse llenar por la esperanza. La contemplación de Cristo glorioso transformó a los apóstoles. Lo que antes les producía temor se convirtió en gozo. Entendieron que las promesas del Señor se cumplirían con toda certeza. Aquel que había caminado con ellos, que les había hablado, corregido y consolado, estaba ahora en el cielo, vivo, glorioso, escuchando sus oraciones y aguardándolos. De ahí nacieron su valentía, su fortaleza y su audacia. Ya no tenían el corazón puesto en las cosas pasajeras de este mundo. Su deseo más hondo era volver a ver a Jesucristo, volver a encontrarse con su Señor. También nosotros, al celebrar esta fiesta, hemos de pedir la gracia de elevar el corazón al cielo y de desprender nuestros deseos de lo que pasa. Entonces podremos afrontar las pruebas y también las alegrías de esta vida con una esperanza nueva, porque sabemos que el Señor nos prepara un lugar y que nada de lo vivido por amor a Él se pierde. Qué grande es ser cristiano. Qué inmensa esperanza nos ha sido dada. Pase lo que pase, en lo bueno y en lo malo, todo puede ser vivido con sentido, todo puede ser ofrecido, todo puede ser soportado, si al final de este camino es Jesús quien nos espera ______ 1. D. Rockefeller, pendiri Standard Oil, menemui tamu di kantornya, ia akan mengantar mereka hingga ke depan lift. Saat para tamu akan naik lift, seorang tak dikenal dengan penampilan lugu ikut masuk ke lift itu. la ikut turun dengan mereka dan menyeberang jalan bersama mereka. Setelah para tamu Rockefeller masuk mobil dan pergi, orang berpenampilan lugu itu kembali masuk ke gedung Rockefeller dan melaporkan dengan detail apa yang dikatakan para tamu selama di lift tadi. Ya, Rockefeller sudah punya "CCTV" dan "penyadap" sebelum teknologi tersebut dibuat. Rockefeller harus mengutus seseorang untuk memata-matai tamunya. Kita kini memakai teknologi untuk melakukannya. Namun, tanpa semua itu, Tuhan sudah mengetahui segala yang kita lakukan di tempat tersembunyi. la bahkan tahu apa yang kita pikirkan. Ada satu waktu ketika dua kakak Musa, Miryam dan Harun menggosipkan tentang Musa. Mulai soal istrinya yang bukan seorang Ibrani, merembet menjadi mempertanyakan tentang otoritas sang adik (benarkah Tuhan hanya berfirman melalui Musa saja, karena Tuhan juga pernah berfirman melalui Harun dan Miryam). Alkitab mencatat dengan jelas, "..kedengaranlah hal itu kepada TUHAN" (ay. 2). Miriam dan Harun mungkin berpikir hanya mereka berdua yang tahu pembicaraan itu, tapi kita bisa lihat bagaimana Tuhan tidak tinggal diam saat hamba-Nya difitnah dan digosipkan sembarangan. Ingatlah hal ini sebelum kita bergosip atau memikirkan hal-hal buruk tentang orang lain. Ingat bahwa Tuhan tahu apa yang kita katakan dan pikirkan. Kiranya ucapan, pikiran, dan perbuatan kita selalu berkenan di mata Tuhan (Mzm. 19:15). Belajar dari kisah ini, biarlah kita bisa selalu menjaga sikap hati, pikiran, perbuatan, dan ucapan kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. W ostatnich tygodniach nasz Kościół wspólnie przeżywał 17-dniowy czas postu. Na progu Nowego Roku każdego dnia sięgaliśmy po nowe treści i spotykaliśmy się na modlitwie, tworząc przestrzeń do refleksji i duchowego wzrostu. W minioną niedzielę Darek podzielił się swoimi doświadczeniami z tego okresu, opowiadając o zmianach, jakie zauważył w swoim myśleniu i postrzeganiu codzienności. Mówił o tym, jak realnie doświadczał Bożej łaski oraz jak błogosławienie innym może przemieniać naszą rzeczywistość. Zwrócił uwagę, że gdy błogosławimy innym, zmienia się również nasze spojrzenie na ludzi i sytuacje, które nas otaczają. Wybrzmiało także, jak fundamentalne i życiodajne jest braterstwo oraz kierowanie się miłością, a nie jedynie szczerością, w relacjach między nami.Flp. 2, 2–4„Dopełnijcie mojej radości, bądźcie tej samej myśli, mając tę samą miłość, będąc zgodni i jednomyślni; nie czyńcie nic z kłótliwości ani z próżnej chwały, lecz w pokorze uważajcie jedni drugich za wyższych od siebie. Assinalam-se dois anos do ataque do Hamas no sul de Israel, que causou mais de 1.000 mortos e cerca de 200 reféns - hoje reduzidos a 48. A resposta de Israel na Faixa de Gaza provocou, segundo o Ministério da Saúde - controlado pelo Hamas — mais de 67.000 mortos, muitos deles crianças, e deixou a população confrontada com a fome e a destruição. Esta terça-feira, 7 de Outubro, os familiares dos reféns israelitas pedem o fim da ofensiva, para que estes possam regressar a casa. O escritor e jornalista Rui Neumann fala de um grande cansaço dos israelitas face a esta guerra, sublinhando que a paz parece estar mais difícil de se reconstruir. Dois anos depois, o que pensam os israelitas desta guerra? Há um grande cansaço por parte dos israelitas relativamente à guerra. Mas a primeira preocupação geral é que este é um sentimento, independentemente do quadrante político, ou seja, seja da direita ou da esquerda. A prioridade é, antes de mais, o regresso e a libertação dos 48 reféns restantes do massacre de 7 de Outubro. Mas há um trauma muito profundo na sociedade israelita. Relativamente à tragédia humanitária que se vive em Gaza, qual é o sentimento dos israelitas? Há uma certa sensibilidade relativamente à tragédia humanitária. No entanto, para Israel, o primeiro ponto é a sua própria segurança. O que aconteceu há dois anos não pode repetir-se. Porquê? Porque as primeiras vítimas do 7 de Outubro foram a jovens israelita de tendência esquerda, que até defendia a causa palestiniana. E esses foram os primeiros alvos que estavam no famoso e dramático concerto Nova. Isto moldou-se. Podemos dizer que a população israelita se tornou muito desconfiada em relação à população palestiniana. Quebrou-se o sentimento que existia de que seria possível estabelecer um caminho para a paz com os palestinianos, que neste momento está muito fragilizado. Estão muito céticos. Os israelitas, relativamente a se é possível construir esse caminho. A paz parece mais longe? Verdadeiramente, a paz parece estar mais difícil de se reconstruir. Sim, de um ponto de vista realista, é preciso criar mecanismos quase mais tecnocráticos para uma coexistência pacífica, mais do que para a paz. A paz é algo muito utópico. Os israelitas esperam, neste momento, uma situação de não conflito, o que é completamente diferente. Muitos israelitas deixaram o país e com o aumento dos actos anti-semitas, outros acusam o primeiro-ministro de Israel de colocar em risco a vida dos israelitas. Benjamin Netanyahu, acusado de crimes de guerra, de usar a fome como método de guerra e que, de certa forma, está actualmente refém da extrema-direita, deixou de representar os interesses dos israelitas? E faço esta pergunta quando estamos a um ano de eleições e é provável que Netanyahu continue com ambições políticas… Benjamin Netanyahu continua a ter ambições políticas, mas o 7 de Outubro foi um grande trauma, não só para além das fronteiras israelitas, mas também nas comunidades judaicas no mundo. Houve uma multiplicação de erros e indiferença, face aos alertas que foram lançados pelo Shin Bet, os serviços de informação interior, até mesmo pela inteligência militar – AMAN. Essa multiplicação de erros resultou nas proporções do massacre do Hamas, quase dando o sentimento aos judeus de que, afinal, Israel não é uma terra que protege os judeus. Por outro lado, com a ofensiva levada a cabo em Gaza e a determinação de Benjamin Netanyahu de eliminar completamente o Hamas multiplicou um militantismo fora de Israel, contra Israel e contra o chamado anti-sionismo, que entra muito na esfera do anti-semitismo. E aí, sim, muitas populações judaicas e muitas comunidades judaicas responsabilizam Benjamin Netanyahu. Quanto às suas ambições para 2026, no caso de não haver eleições antecipadas, ainda não estão garantidas. Benjamin Netanyahu poderá vir a ser julgado no futuro pelos crimes de que é acusado? Poderá vir a ser julgado em Israel, isso sim, acredito. Israel já deu provas, noutros casos, de julgar os seus próprios líderes políticos. As responsabilidades e os erros cometidos a 7 de Outubro. Começaram no Egipto as negociações entre as delegações de Israel e o Hamas, que afirmou estar disponível para iniciar a troca de reféns se Israel terminar a ofensiva em Gaza. Israel está disposto a dar este passo? Israel está disposto porque o Hamas não tem grandes vias. Em termos da ala militar, o Hamas está em praticamente derrotado. O que subsiste ainda é a ala política. E no Egipto, quem está a negociar é exactamente essa ala política que tenta, de certa forma, manter a organização à tona, embora esteja muito fragilizada. Israel está disposto a dar o passo no chamado plano Trump. É preciso dizer que o plano de Donald Trump para Gaza não é uma garantia de estabilidade para Gaza, nem para Israel e nem para a própria Cisjordânia, onde as organizações palestinianas quase que não participam nesse plano. O problema aqui é que o Hamas é, de facto, a principal organização política palestiniana em Gaza, mas não é quem detém a maior parte dos 48 reféns. Existem organizações mais radicais, como o Jihad Islâmico, que não estão dispostas a ter qualquer acordo com Israel, nem a reconhecer Israel. E, de forma quase insignificante, o FLP, que também detém reféns. O Hamas, para fazer um acordo global de rendição, que é a condição que lhe é imposta, tem que ter o alinhamento destas duas pequenas organizações. O plano de Donald Trump tem 20 pressupostos. O 19.º diz o seguinte: À medida que o processo de reconstrução de Gaza avança e o programa de reformas da Autoridade Palestiniana é fielmente executado, as condições poderão finalmente estar reunidas para o caminho credível rumo à autodeterminação e à criação de um Estado da Palestina. Benjamin Netanyahu já se veio a pôr essa possibilidade. Neste contexto actual, um Estado da Palestina é possível? Neste momento, Israel, na cena política internacional, já está muito isolado. Há vários países que ainda apoiam Israel, o primeiro, sem dúvida, os Estados Unidos. Há outros países com uma posição ambígua, como vários países europeus, que, por um lado, reconhecem o Estado da Palestina e, por outro, apoiam Israel, mas não quer isto dizer que apoiam as políticas de Benjamin Netanyahu. Mas a criação de um Estado palestiniano, neste momento, é extremamente complexa, porque antes da criação do Estado, é preciso definir que fronteira vai ter esse Estado, que governo vai ter esse Estado e quem será a autoridade. Qual é o organismo palestiniano que vai assumir essa chefia de Estado? A Autoridade Palestiniana não tem legitimidade? A Autoridade Palestiniana, neste momento, tem que se reformar completamente. Quando houve o reconhecimento do Estado da Palestina, não houve a imposição de se definir as regras do jogo para que um Estado tenha que existir, porque, senão, o que podemos estar a antecipar é a criação de um Estado quando que não tem condições para existir, e isso pode levar a uma guerra civil palestiniana. Todavia, há uma camada da população israelita que defende e considera quase inevitável a criação de um Estado palestiniano. Agora, o que ninguém compreende é quais vão ser essas regras, quais vão ser as fronteiras, a política do próprio Estado. E é aqui que também precisa de ser ouvida a população palestiniana. Principalmente a população palestiniana. Para criar um Estado palestiniano, eles têm que ter a primeira voz. São os palestinianos.

New Zealand banks are being asked to pay up in the next few months. Kiwibank, BNZ, Westpac, ANZ and ASB will need to repay around $9.2 billion in cheap Covid-era loans to the Reserve Bank. Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen told Mike Hosking that they have variety of options they can use to repay the money. He says the banks knew when taking out these loans they'd have to pay them back eventually. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Sabtu, 19 April 2025Bacaan: "Sebab anjing-anjing mengerumuni aku, gerombolan penjahat mengepung aku, mereka menusuk tangan dan kakiku." (Mazmur 22:17)Renungan: Seorang penulis Yahudi bernama Klausner berkata bahwa penyaliban adalah kematian yang paling mengerikan dan kejam yang pernah dipikirkan atau ditemukan manusia terhadap sesamanya. Lebih lanjut Klausner menggambarkan hebatnya penderitaan Yesus yang disalib sebagai berikut, "Yesus dipakukan pada salib; pada saat itu Dia sudah berlumuran dengan darah karena pencambukan. Di sana Dia tergantung untuk mati karena lapar, haus dan kepanasan, bahkan tidak bisa membela diri-Nya sendiri dari siksaan nyamuk dan lalat yang hinggap pada tubuhnya yang telanjang, dan pada luka-lukanya yang berdarah." Paku yang dipakukan di pergelangan tangan lebih kuat menahan berat seluruh tubuh karena ditahan oleh tulang-tulang pergelangan tangan, sedangkan kalau dipaku di telapak tangan tidak akan kuat menahan berat seluruh tubuh, karena paku itu akan merobek dan menembus daging di telapak tangan. Yesus adalah Allah yang menjadi manusia dan datang ke dunia dengan tujuan utama: untuk berbicara kepada manusia dan mati bagi dosa manusia. Yesus tahu bahwa Dia harus disalibkan, di mana kedua kaki dan tangan-Nya sudah dinubuatkan oleh pemazmur untuk dipaku. "Sebab anjing-anjing mengerumuni aku, gerombolan penjahat mengepung aku, mereka menusuk tangan dan kakiku." (Mzm 22:17). Kerelaan Yesus untuk dipaku tangan dan kaki-Nya menunjukkan begitu besar kasih-Nya kepada kita. Dia melepaskan begitu banyak hak-Nya, bahkan hak untuk hidup, demi menyelamatkan kita. Karena itu Bapa memberi Dia nama di atas segala nama. "Itulah sebabnya Allah sangat meninggikan Dia dan mengaruniakan kepada-Nya nama di atas segala nama." (Flp 2:9). Banyak tamu-tamu yang diundang untuk turut menikmati kebahagiaan yang mereka rasakan. Salah seorang undangan meminta kepada pasangan suami-istri tersebut untuk memberitahukan rahasianya mengapa pernikahan mereka langgeng. Padahal waktu masih pacaran, mereka selalu beradu pendapat dan bertengkar. Sebelum bercerita, sang suami yang kini sudah menjadi kakek itu memandang kepada istrinya sambil tersenyum kemudian bercerita, "Semua berawal dari bulan madu kami. Waktu itu kami berbulan madu di satu daerah yang sejuk. Di sana kami menyewa keledai sebagai tunggangan. Keledai istri saya sepertinya bermasalah jika berjalan. Baru berjalan sekitar 500 meter, istri saya jatuh karena ulah si keledai. Istri saya berdiri dan menempelkan telunjuknya di jidat keledai sambil berkata, "Ini peringatan pertama ya." Setelah itu ia naik lagi. Tetapi belum sampai 300 meter, istri saya jatuh lagi. Sambil menempelkan telunjuknya di jidat keledai, istri saya menatap tajam ke mata keledai itu sambil berkata, "Ini peringatan kedua bagi kamu." Istri saya naik lagi ke keledainya. Baru berjalan 200 meter, istri saya jatuh lagi. la segera berdiri, menempelkan telunjuknya di jidat keledai seraya berkata, "Ini peringatan terakhir bagi kamu." Untuk ketiga kalinya istri saya mencoba untuk menunggangi lagi keledainya. Baru beberapa langkah, istri saya jatuh lagi untuk keempat kalinya. la pun segera mengambil pistol dari tasnya dan menembak mati sang keledai. Melihat tindakan istri saya, tentu saja saya marah kepadanya. Tetapi ia segera mendekati saya, menempelkan telunjuknya di jidat saya dan berkata, "Ini peringatan pertama kamu menentangku." Ada dua pelajaran penting yang dapat kita petik dari kisah ini:Pertama, jangan buat pasangan kita hidup dalam tekanan. Para istri, hormati dan tunduklah pada suamimu dan para suami kasihilah istrimu, jangan suka berlaku kasar dan mengancam. Ada rumah tangga yang kelihatannya aman, tetapi sebenarnya salah satu dari pasangan itu mungkin saja hidup dalam ketertekanan. Sekalipun kita mendapatkan pasangan yang sabar dan bisa menuruti semua keinginan kita, tetapi ingatlah bahwa jauh di dalam hati kecilnya dia juga sama seperti kita, ingin merasakan kebebasan.Kedua, mengalah terhadap pasangan sangatlah penting. Salah satu alasan mengapa sebuah rumah tangga bisa langgeng, yaitu karena ada yang mau mengalah. Flp 2:4 mengajarkan agar kita tidak hanya memperhatikan kepentingan diri sendiri, tetapi kepentingan orang lain juga. Mengalah merupakan wujud dari kepedulian kepada orang lain. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, jadilah kepala atas rumah tangga kami dan berilah kami hati yang saling menghormati, mengasihi dan mau mengalah. Amin. (Dod).

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Rabu, 8 Januari 2025 Bacaan: "Lalu ia menanggalkan jubahnya, ia segera berdiri dan pergi mendapatkan Yesus." (Markus 10:50) Renungan: Pada waktu orang memberitahukan kepada Bartimeus bahwa Yesus memanggilnya, maka ia pun menanggalkan jubahnya. Bartimeus dipenuhi dengan sukacita karena ia meyakini bahwa sebentar lagi akan ada perubahan penting dalam dirinya. Keyakinan seperti yang dimiliki Bartimeus dalam hal ini dapat disebut sebagai iman. Iman telah membuatnya melangkah datang kepada Yesus, iman telah membuatnya melakukan sesuatu yang dramatikal, yaitu menanggalkan jubahnya. Ia sengaja menanggalkan jubah tersebut agar ia lebih leluasa datang menemui Yesus. Meskipun jubah luar pada umumnya merupakan pakaian yang melindungi seseorang dari cuaca yang dingin, namun apalah arti sebuah jubah bagi Bartimeus dibandingkan kesembuhan yang akan diterimanya dari Yesus. Bartimeus rela menanggalkan jubahnya karena ia tahu ada hal yang lebih penting daripada sebuah jubah. Ini merupakan gambaran yang sangat indah bagi seorang berdosa yang memutuskan untuk datang kepada Yesus. la harus rela menanggalkan "jubah" yang selama ini ia kenakan, yaitu jubah dosa yang telah membutakan mata rohaninya. Ia harus bangkit dan segera datang kepada Yesus dengan sukacita dan iman yang sungguh-sungguh bahwa kuasa Yesus sanggup mengubahkan hidupnya. Untuk mendapatkan kemurahan hati Allah, ia harus bersedia meninggalkan kehidupan lamanya Rasul Paulus berkata, "Tetapi apa yang dahulu merupakan keuntungan bagiku, sekarang kuanggap rugi karena Kristus." (Flp 3:7). Pertemuan dengan Yesus akan mengubah hidup serta cara pandang kita. Apa yang dahulu kita anggap menguntungkan dan sangat berarti, kini kita anggap rugi ketika mengenal-Nya. Sesungguhnya, pengenalan akan Yesus tidak dapat dibandingkan dengan apa pun yang dapat kita raih di dunia ini. Karena itu, tanggalkanlah "jubah" yang selama ini kita kenakan, jubah yang telah merintangi kita untuk datang kepada Yesus, jubah yang membutakan mata rohani kita sehingga kita tidak bisa melihat Sang Kebenaran itu. Bartimeus mengajar kita untuk rela melepaskan apa yang selama ini kita anggap penting, yang membuat kita merasa nyaman, namun yang menghalangi kita untuk mengenal Yesus. Percayalah, ketika kita datang kepada-Nya maka kita akan mendapatkan sesuatu yang jauh lebih baik. Memiliki Yesus berarti memiliki segalanya! Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa: Tuhan Yesus, berilah aku keberanian untuk melepaskan segala sesuatu yang selama ini menghalangiku untuk datang kepada-Mu. Amin. (Dod).

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Jumat, 22 November 2024 Bacaan: "Janganlah kiranya kasih dan setia meninggalkan engkau! Kalungkanlah itu pada lehermu, tuliskanlah itu pada loh hatimu, maka engkau akan mendapat kasih dan penghargaan dalam pandangan Allah serta manusia." (Amsal 3:3-4) Renungan: Orang yang egois adalah orang yang menjadikan dirinya sebagai pusat, lebih mengutamakan kepentingan dan perasaannya sendiri tanpa memedulikan kepentingan dan perasaan orang lain bahkan orang-orang terdekatnya sekalipun. Itulah yang dilakukan oleh Laban kepada kedua putrinya, Lea dan Rahel. Kecintaannya terhadap harta melunturkan kecintaannya kepada Lea dan Rahel, sehingga ia rela mengorbankan kedua putrinya tersebut. Hal pertama yang dikorbankan oleh Laban adalah tali persaudaraan kedua putrinya. Sangat mungkin Laban mengetahui situasi apa yang akan dihadapi oleh kedua putrinya bila ia menikahkan mereka dengan Yakub. Hal yang paling mungkin disadari Laban adalah retaknya hubungan persaudaraan kedua putrinya dikarenakan Yakub hanya mencintai Rahel. Dan benar saja, timbullah keirihatian di antara kakak beradik tersebut. Sebagai wanita yang tidak dicintai oleh suaminya, tentu merupakan pukulan jiwa dan perasaan bagi Lea. Tetapi bukan berarti Rahel menjadi wanita yang berbahagia karena mendapatkan cinta Yakub. Rahel pun mengalami perasaan yang sama, karena Tuhan tidak memberikan keturunan kepadanya, sementara Lea mendapatkannya. Tidak ada lagi kasih persaudaran, yang ada hanyalah keirihatian. Kedua, Laban setuju menjadikan putrinya sebagai upah kerja Yakub. Mungkin saja hal ini dianggap lazim pada saat itu, dan ini juga atas inisiatif Yakub, tetapi bukankah masih ada benda yang nilainya tidak lebih berharga dari anaknya untuk dijadikan upah? Dalam kisahnya, yang tercatat adalah Laban memberikan Rahel sebagai upah asalkan Yakub bekerja selama tujuh tahun lagi kepadanya (Kej 29:27). Nasib Lea pun sesungguhnya sama dengan Rahel. Lea bisa disebut juga upah kerja karena bukan dialah orang yang diinginkan oleh Yakub selama tujuh tahun, tetapi Laban memberikannya kepada Yakub, walaupun dengan alasan yang sesuai adat saat itu. Bagaimana dengan kita, apakah kita suka mengorbankan orang lain demi kepentingan diri sendiri? Firman Tuhan berkata, "Janganlah tiap-tiap orang hanya memperhatikan kepentingannya sendiri, tetapi kepentingan orang lain juga." (Flp 2:4). Saat kita belajar bagaimana hidup sebagai anak-anak Tuhan, di saat itu juga kita seharusnya belajar bagaimana peduli dan mengasihi sesama, sebab demikianlah salah satu ciri anak Tuhan. Sering kali kita tidak menyadari bahwa sesungguhnya kita telah dikuasai oleh sikap mementingkan diri sendiri, sehingga perbuatan kita merugikan orang lain. Karenanya kita harus rajin mengintrospeksi diri, apakah yang kita lakukan mengorbankan orang lain atau tidak. Milikilah kasih Tuhan, sehingga kita bisa mengasihi dan tidak mengorbankan orang lain. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa: Tuhan Yesus, berikanlah aku hati yang mengasihi sehingga niat untuk mengorbankan orang lain demi kepentinganku jauh dari padaku. Amin. (Dod).

Lecturas: Jeremías 31, 31-34 Salmo 51, 3-4, 12-15 Hebreos 5, 7-9 Juan 12, 20-33 Las lecturas este domingo están llenas de expectativas. “Los días que vienen…”, dice el profeta Jeremías en la primera lectura. “La hora ha venido” dice Jesús en el Evangelio. La Nueva Alianza que Dios prometió a Jeremías se cumple en la “hora” de Jesús: en su muerte, resurrección, y ascensión a la derecha del Padre. Los profetas predijeron que con esta Nueva Alianza regresarían, de todos los rincones de la tierra, las exiliadas tribus de Israel (cfr. Je 31,1.3.4.7.8). Jesús profetizó también que su Pasión reuniría a los hijos dispersos de Dios (Jn 11,52). Sin embargo, en el Evangelio de este domingo Jesús promete que atraerá hacia Sí no sólo a los israelitas, sino a todos los hombres y mujeres (Jn 12, 32). La Nueva Alianza es mucho más que una reivindicación política o nacional. Como cantamos en el salmo, es una restauración espiritual universal. En la “hora” de Jesús, los pecadores de todas la naciones pueden regresar al Padre para ser lavados de su culpa y recibir corazones nuevos para amarle y servirle. Jesús, al decir que será “levantado”, no está aludiendo solamente a su crucifixión ya próxima (cfr. Jn 3,14-15). Isaías usa la misma expresión para describir cómo el Mesías, después de sufrir por los pecados de Israel, sería levantado y grandemente exaltado (Is 52,2). En otra parte, el término se refiere a cómo como los reyes serían elevados sobre sus súbditos (cfr. 1M 8,13). Jesús, durante su agonía, no oró para ser salvado. Más bien, según leemos en la epístola de este domingo, se ofreció a sí mismo al Padre en la cruz como súplica viviente. Por ello, Dios le dio potestad sobre el cielo y la tierra (Hch 2,33; Flp 2,9). A donde ha ido podemos seguirle, si nos dejamos guiar por Él. Seguir a Jesús significa odiar el pecado y el egoísmo presentes en nuestra vida. Quiere decir confiar en la voluntad del Padre: en la ley que Él ha escrito en nuestros corazones. La “hora” de Jesús continúa en la Eucaristía, donde unimos nuestros sacrificios al Suyo, entregando nuestras vidas a Dios como acto de reverencia y obediencia, confiando en que él nos elevará para que demos frutos de santidad.
