Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.Atlanta United scored first, but lost control of the match with Nashville afterwards. Following the goal, Nashville outshot Atlanta 10-2 and had 70% possession. They eventually found an equalizer and the match finished in an unfulfilling 1-1 draw. Atlanta is back in action next Saturday in Chicago against the Fire, who will be missing their goalkeeper Chris Brady following his red card in the first half of the Fire's 0-0 draw with Orlando.LA Galaxy lost last night in Kansas City 1-0 even though they didn't concede a shot, the goal was an own goal in the 13th minute. The Galaxy also lost both of their star wingers, Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec, due to injury. Other MLS highlights of note include Vancouver going unbeaten in 10 games after a 2-1 win over RSL, Miami bouncing back from two home losses with a win over Red Bulls, and New England keeping their hot streak going since putting Carles Gil into a free role in their 3-5-2 shape.Parity is alive and well in the NWSL as the top 8 teams are separated by 4 points. Kansas City and Orlando are tied for the top spot with 15 points so far in the season.A verdict is expected tomorrow by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the Club Leon case against FIFA over their spot in the Club World Cup. If FIFA's ruling is upheld, then we'll see the playoff game between LAFC and Club America go ahead. The winner of that would start the tournament here in Atlanta against Chelsea on June 16. Harry Kane has finally won a trophy after almost 700 games as a pro for club and country. Of course it wasn't straightforward... Bayern drew to RB Leipzig 3-3 on a late goal from the opposition and needed Leverkusen to slip up in their game later in the day, which ended 2-2 giving Bayern the title. Two big promotions, Pisa in Italy and Paris FC in France. Pisa hasn't been in Serie A since 1991 while Paris FC hasn't played in Ligue 1 for 46 years. Nothing beats Burnley's celebrations for getting back to the Premier League, they had Natasha Bedingfield on hand to sing the unofficial promotion anthem for them "Unwritten". She sang it for the fans at Turf Moor and the squad sang it with her in the locker room.Playoffs are set in Mexico and Argentina, they'll start next weekend. Champions League in Europe returns this week with Barcelona and Inter hopeful on injury returns while PSG and Arsenal try to shake off league losses over the weekend.More Espresso Tuesday on the SDH Network, presented by Oglethorpe University.

Bayern Munich just saw the Bundesliga title slip from their grasp at the last possible second against RB Leipzig. Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show. In this episode Danny breaks down this rollercoaster match from top to bottom. Subscribe to the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel for full coverage of the remainder of the football season, all the news, trophy celebrations, and community you can image. Bayern Munich faced off against RB Leipzig with a chance to become champions of the Bundesliga with a win. Instead we got a crazy 3-3 draw with plenty of lows and then highs and then a final second stoppage time goal to halt the already begun celebrations. Danny takes to the mic with emotions running high to break down Vincent Kompany's lineup (yes Harry Kane was suspended), tactics, player performances, and all the match highlights/lowlights. An early defensive miscommunication and collapse from Bayern saw keeper Jonas Urbig far off his line setting up a simple Benjamin Sesko goal which was followed by another Leipzig goal sending them off to a blazing 2-0 start. In the second half Bayern Munich scored two goals in less than a minute to equalize. Eric Dier's header assisted by a Michael Olise corner and then Olise getting a goal himself assisted by Serge Gnabry. Finally, late in the match Leroy Sane scored what was seemingly the Bundesliga dagger in the 83 minute from a Joshua Kimmich assist flick. Players and Vincent Kompany himself were beginning title celebrations after 4 minutes of added stoppage time when Kingsley Coman failed to clear a ball in the box and Yussuf Poulsen chipped an equalizer over Urbig in the 95th minute. A single point in this match was enough to guarantee at best Bayer Leverkusen can equal Bayern Munich in points and the Bavarians hold a 30 goal lead in goal differential. The title is all but theirs but mathematically nothing can be awarded until either Leverkusen loses or draws to SC Freiburg or Bayern Munich beats or draws to Borussia Mönchengladbach next week at the Allianz Arena. Be sure to tune back in for a BIG celebration next weekend. Until then Mia San Mia. Subscribe to the YouTube channel to stay updated! Thanks for listening/watching. Manu and Stefan were back for the Bundesliga preview show (a day late due to travel), and there's plenty to unpack. Here's your weekly conversation-style recap from the pod: Bayern on the Brink (Without Kane) Manu: “This could be it — if Bayern beat Leipzig, they win the title.” Stefan: “And Harry Kane won't be on the pitch, which just writes its own jokes.” Still, Kane and Eric Dier will get their first career trophies if Bayern wrap it up. Stefan joked Dier could do a John Terry and show up in full kit at full-time. Stefan: “Bayern won't delay the title for sentimental reasons. They'll get it done.” Both agree this season's been mixed for Bayern, but Kompany has done the job that matters: reclaiming the Bundesliga title. Leipzig's Squeaky-Bum Time Manu: “This game is massive for Leipzig. If they don't get a result, Champions League football could be gone.” Stefan: “They're up against it. Orban and Gulácsi are out. Without them, they're hopeless.” Leipzig are under pressure from Dortmund and Freiburg. Without Champions League qualification, they may need to sell key players like Xavi Simons. Stefan: “They've been sleepwalking for years. Leverkusen's rise is forcing them to wake up.” Manu: “The issue isn't ambition. It's their failure to find the right formula.” The coaching situation is also in focus. Manu and Stefan suggest Leipzig need to make a bold hire — maybe Sandro Wagner or Cesc Fàbregas. Freiburg's Big Chance Manu: “If Freiburg beat Leverkusen and Leipzig lose, the door to the Champions League really opens.” Stefan: “Julian Schuster has actually improved on Streich's work.” Freiburg are two points ahead of Leipzig. Despite struggling against top-four teams this season, they have a chance to change that now. Stefan: “They need to break the curse. If you want to be top four, you have to beat top-four clubs.” They've signed a replacement for Ritsu Doan and could have Noah Atubolu back in goal — a major boost. Manu also explained why Freiburg shouldn't be considered a small club anymore. Manu: “Freiburg's greater metro area is bigger than Dortmund. They're a sleeping giant with real infrastructure now.”
Leipzig Outclassed by Eintracht, Controversial Dortmund Win, 7-Goal Stunner in KielThe Topspiel and Champions League spot on the line saw Eintracht Frankfurt rise to the occasion and maul Leipzig 4-0, who tumble out of the top 4. Dortmund won it late amidst Hoffenheim complaints and moved within 3 points of fourth place. Elsewhere, Bayern and Bayer won to postpone title celebrations for at least another matchday. Complete opposite in the 2. Bundesliga, where number 1 to 10 can still win the league and promotion!

On this week's Gegenpressing podcast, Manu and Stefan are back to discuss the biggest talking points from matchday 31 in the Bundesliga. They kick things off with Bayern Munich's 3-0 win over Mainz and focus on the remarkable performance of Leroy Sane. Has the German international played his way back into the good books at the Allianz Arena and could now stay at the club next season? They then take a look at Borussia Dortmund's chaotic 3-2 win over Hoffenheim and marvel at Niko Kovac and his team's ability to climb back into the top four against all odds. Then, to round up the show, the duo then turn their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt's emphatic 4-0 win over RB Leipzig and applaud the Eagles for what has been a wonderful season as they all but confirmed Champions League football for next season. Enjoy!
Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show. ONE MORE WIN is all it will take for Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga this season after beating Mainz 05 by a convincing score of 3-0. Chelsea also beat Everton 1-0 in an important English Premiere League match. Subscribe to the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel to join the community and stay tuned with how the season shapes up. We kick this episode off by discussing Chelsea's big time EPL 1-0 win over Everton. It wasn't the most interesting match but a win is a win at this crucial point in the season. We break down Enzo Maresca's prematch comments, his lineup/tactics, match highlights, and player performances. Nicolas Jackson scored the lone goal of the match and was assisted by Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea was setup a bit differently in this match and we talk about what they should look like going forward for the remainder of the season. We break down Chelsea's remaining EPL and Conference League matches and what we're looking for out of them. Next up is Bayern Munich beating Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga 3-0. It was an overall great performance from the Bavarians but a win for Bayer Leverkusen over FC Augsburg means that the league will not be decided today. Bayern Munich needs one more win in their remaining three matches to clinch the league title. This could happen as early as next week away at RB Leipzig. We take a look at today's match by talking about both teams under Bo Henriksen and Vincent Kompany so far this season, lineups, tactics, match highlights, and player performances. Leroy Sane, Michael Olise, and Eric Dier scored for Bayern Munich with Olise and Konrad Laimer picking up assists. The dark stain on an otherwise great day was a wrongly award yellow card to Harry Kane. This being Kane's 5th yellow card of the season (and no reset rule like other leagues have) means that Kane will miss next weeks potentially title clinching matchup with a suspension. We talk about how special Jonas Urbig has been so far filling in for an injured Manuel Neuer with another clean sheet and we talk in more detail how players like Dier, Laimer, and Olise have really stepped up in key moments this season. Finally, this match was special was it saw the league debut for Jonah Kusi-Asare as well as Thomas Muller's 500th Bundesliga appearance. On this week's Bundesliga preview show, Manu and Stefan sit down to discuss two games in particular. On Saturday evening RB Leipzig travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the hopes of inflicting some serious damage to their fellow top-four contenders. But in the meantime the dynamic duo discuss the names linked with the open managerial post in Leipzig and debate whether the club will be about to convince the right man to replace Marco Rose. They then turn their attention to the Nordderby between Werder Bremen and St Pauli and discuss why Oliver Burke's decision to leave the club for Union Berlin is not only bad news for Ole Werner's side but is perhaps also an indication of why all may not be well at the Weserstadion despite their climb up the league table.

Union and Stuttgart put on a first-half show with a record 8-goal haul and the craziest xG you've ever seen. Meanwhile, Dortmund wins the battle of the Borussias and moves up the rankings. Thanks to Leipzig failing to beat lowly Kiel at home, the Black and Yellows are only 4 points out of a UCL spot. All their competitors will take points off each other in the coming weeks, opening a viable path to Europe. Meanwhile, Leverkusen have their UCL qualification secured but have failed to impress lately. The Bros disagree on how their season ranks and note some change in the tone of the conversation about Xabi Alonso's future.
Thanks to brave St. Pauli's efforts against Bayer Leverkusen, Matchday 30 of the Bundesliga was the one where Bayern Munich became (almost) champions. With the title race effectively settled, what else is there to get excited about? Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.Wild Saturday night at the Benz, one of the strangest matches I've ever called, as Atlanta United came back to defeat NYCFC 4-3. Mistakes were one of the highlights in this one, but perhaps Atlanta getting the win after one of their worst performances gives them a spark going forward. After mistakes put them behind and maybe the pressure of a poor result unfolding again at home led to them looking tranquilized in a way, the substitutions of Xande Silva and Matt Edwards breathed new life into the team. Hard work over the last half hour of the match brought Atlanta from 3-1 down to 4-3 up. Alexey Miranchuk got a goal earlier and was outstanding wherever he played, Silva/Edwards created the tying goal for Almirón, and Latte Lath's relentless running on a night where he didn't have his best first touch was enough to force Matt Freese and Thiago Martins into a screaming blaming fit as the go-ahead goal sailed in. Lots of conversation this week on SDH AM (every morning starting at 9:05 on YouTube & Twitch) and on Atlanta Soccer Tonight on 92.9 The Game (back to Tuesday nights this week).Miami took control of the East with a 2-1 win over Philadelphia, Sporting Kansas City remains winless in 2025 after a loss to Dallas, and San Diego's win over LAFC highlighted the weekend around MLS. LAFC could be playing Club América in a winner-take-all match for a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup and a $9.55 million check. It would be the most lucrative potential match for a MLS team ever, this is pending an appeal by León on FIFA taking them out of the tournament due to multi-ownership rules and regulations.Marco Rose was sacked at RB Leipzig, Dorival Junior was sacked in Brazil as the national team manager. Plenty more nuggets in the podcast! Thanks for reading, watching, and listening to our content from the SDH Network, plenty more to come this week across all fronts.More Espresso coming tomorrow on the SDH Network, presented by Oglethorpe University.
