Counting the Omer has many spiritual and personal significances. Many count the days of the Omer until Shavuot, until we have received the Torah. During Pesach Seder night, we get an enormous dose of Mochin but after the first night, it is gone and every day that we count the Omer, we capture the Mochin for the year. One plague should have been enough to set the Israelites free from Egypt, so why did HaShem command Moshe and Ahron to do 10 plagues? The evil forces represented by Egypt and Pharoh, have 10 evil forces themselves - just like we have 10 Sfirot of holiness, the evil forces of 10 Sfriot of evil powers. Each one of the 10 plagues destroys one of the Sfirot from the evil forces. Once when all the evil forces are destroyed, they will be eradicated completely.

The Torah teaches that a rebellious child should be brought to the community's elders and be stoned. However, when Moshe heard this, he told Hashem that no one would do this to their child. The Zohar teaches that Moshe asked Hashem, do you know anyone that would do this? Hashem answered Moshe to write what He says. There is a hidden message in this passage. If you explore what is written, there is wisdom. We should know that God always knows better and gave us many great ways and ideas to respond to war, famine, challenges, and such - we learn to consult with God, the chachamim, or those that know the Torah and we will get the answers. The point is when a person falls into the klipa, evil inclination, or falls off the path God has for us, there is no telling what damage he/she can do. God always does what is good for us, whether we understand that in this lifetime or not.

Giving a present or a gift can go a long way, as shared in the Zohar. By giving a gift to someone you give him/her sparks of holiness, making him happy and this lights up the sparks of God within someone. With a personal story, Yamine shares a personal story of how he uplifted someone's sparks of holiness with a gift. This teaching reminds us to give with our hearts and that even the smallest of actions bring more love and kindness into someone's soul and lift up their spirit.

In Parshat Mekez we learn a very valuable skill and that is how to subliminal messages in order to get what you want. We learn from Yosaif how to ask for what we want in a way in order to RECEIVE it! When asking for what you want from someone, they don't always necessarily want to give. A person can be in the Klipa and it makes it hard for them. To get what you want from them you must plant the idea as if it was their idea! It is different from when you ask God because God always wants to give.

Esther shows us the secret to gaining Ruach HaKodesh and this in our speech. Esther was able to write Megilat Esther with Ruach HaKodesh. The Zorah teaches that once when someone receives Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) they are connected to the truth, connected to God, and what to speak. From a simple way of protecting one's speech, one connects to a pure divine channel of light. When one doesn't protect what they say, they bring negative forces upon them. Our words are energy, they have an impact and draw positive or negative forces. What is one way you can change your speech to draw positive forces?

We all know how important it is to refrain from bad speech, but how important is it? According to the Zohar in Parshat Naso, when we go to sleep, our soul goes to heaven and testifies about the person. The person's actions and speech are recorded and saved for the Day of Judgment. This is an important lesson because when you are doing Lashon Hara (evil speech), you are causing harm to yourself TWICE! Not only are you talking badly but you are also causing your soul to testify against you. We must learn to be careful with our words and speak from a place of trust beware that our speech causes a lot of harm.

What does the Torah teach about visiting the graves of tzadikim? Visiting the graves of our sages and tzadikim has been a tradition for centuries. They have a very special ability to be a channel to connect with God. Although we do not pray to them or their bodies, their soul is still present and gives strength to our prayer to Hashem.

Faith, Emunah, trust, and belief are the foundation of Judaism. When we take a deeper look at Emunah, we find there is a unique unification of God. The Zohar teaches how to connect yourself to God and faith is the pathway.
