*DISCLAIMER* This week's episode is sure to ruffle some feathers. This is your ONLY reminder to be civil in the comments section. Respect other's beliefs, even if they condradict your own. :) Welcome back to the show! This week, we're diving into an eye-opening journey through the fascinating history of dinosaur discoveries and their surprising appearances in ancient art to ask one simple question: Did humans and dinosaurs co-exist? We delve into the origins of how dinosaurs were first identified, starting with Robert Plot's 1677 misidentification of a giant human bone to William Buckland's groundbreaking 1824 description of Megalosaurus. We trace the evolution of paleontology, highlighting key figures like Richard Owen, who coined the term "dinosaur" in 1842, and Gideon Mantell, who discovered Iguanodon, revolutionizing our understanding of these prehistoric giants. But that's not all! We'll explore astonishing depictions of dinosaur-like creatures in ancient art long before their "official" discovery. From Pieter Bruegel the Elder's 1562 painting "The Suicide of Saul" showing what seems to be humans riding sauropods, to Mesopotamian cylinder seals and the intriguing dinosaur engravings on Bishop Bell's tomb brass from the 15th century, the evidence is compelling. We'll also investigate the Narmer Palette of ancient Egypt and the mysterious Stegosaurus carving at Cambodia's Ta Prohm temple, challenging conventional scientific narratives. Join us as we unravel these historical puzzles and speculate on the coexistence of humans and dinosaurs. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, this episode promises to ignite your curiosity and provoke thought. Don't miss out on this deep dive into the unknown, where history, science, and mythology intersect in surprising ways. --- TIME STAMPS: SPOTIFY 0:00 - Sound Board Check 1:14 - Did Humans and Dinosaurs Co-Exist? Dinosaurs Are Almost Certainly Extinct

The thought that dinosaurs might be living in some long-forgotten corner of the world has fanned the flames of curiosity for a long time. Many of our supporters believe it is true, and we have done much to support the possibility over the years. However, it is time for a critical reassessment. 'Living dinosaurs’ was a good idea from the past and was associated with the birth of the modern creation movement. However, and despite a lot of effort on the part of some, it did not pan out. This does not mean that dinosaurs are not a great entry point for the creation/evolution debate. Quite the opposite, because the evidence we have gives us some of the strongest refutations of the grand scheme of evolution. ‘Living dinosaurs’ is not nearly as good an argument as soft tissue preservation and carbon-14 in dinosaur bones. The former remains undocumented, and the latter comes straight to us from the laboratory. Bishop Stuart Bell

Stuart Bell was once rector of one of the most thriving churches in Wales: St Michael's Aberystwyth. These days, his former curate (now Archbishop) Andrew John commands Anglican clergy to keep him at arm's length, and neither to receive communion from him, nor to invite him to take part in any service except with permission from their relevant bishops. The issue concerns the blessing of gay marriages within the Church in Wales, to which Stuart and some others strongly object. Rosa Hunt speaks to the newest bishop in the Anglican Convocation in Europe, with responsibility for Wales. Amidst this serious schism, Bishop Bell claims that many clergy and parishioners are set to join him, objecting to what he sees as the Church's departure from Biblical teaching on sexual matters. And yet, he declares, he would return to the fold as soon as the Bench of Bishops rescinded their decision to allow gay blessings in the Church in Wales. "I don't like where I am at the moment...it's been an enormous grief to me to step away from the Church in Wales".

Bishop Shawn L. Bell is a native son of Gastonia, NC.  Raised with a COGIC and AME Zion Church background, Bishop Bell's faith in God has anchored him to build one of the strongest Christian centers in the  Baltimore Faith community. At the tender age of 15, Pastor Bell ministered his initial sermon at Vestibule A.M.E. Zion Church (King's Mountain, NC) under the tutelage of his Pastor and (natural) Father, The Reverend Cornelius Bell and the strong motherly encouragement of the late Carrie Cotton Bell.  Ordained  to Pastor in the A.M.E. Zion Reformation at 18, by The Rt. Rev. George Edward Battle, Jr., (Senior Bishop) the pursuit of excellence was always a familiar mark set by Pastor Bell. God has afforded Pastor Bell, throughout the years, the opportunity to serve in various international areas, most notably he serves on the Board of Directors of Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey's National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses…which he was appointed by his spiritual mentor, The Late Bishop Kenneth H. Moales. For 8 years Pastor Bell served the Office of International Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Mount Calvary Holy Church of America under the leadership of Archbishop Alfred A. Owens and Co-Pastor Susie C. Owens. In September 2016, Pastor Bell connected to the Global United Fellowship under the leadership of His Grace, Bishop Neil C. Ellis, Presiding Prelate (Global United Fellowship). February 2017, Bishop Ellis appointed Pastor Bell the District Leader over the State of Maryland and District of Columbia in which he oversees 40 plus 9 churches. Bishop Bell is married to A. Faye Bell and father to Olivia L. Bell.

An amazing discussion and training session for defending your faith (apologetics) with Jeff Jerina's guest Bodie Hodge of Answers in Genesis a partner of Men Unplugged.   Topics mentioned in this podcast, evangelism, defending your faith, apologetics, apologetics for teens, apologetics for kids, evolution, Noah’s Ark, Big Bang theory, ark of the covenant, dinosaurs, Jonah and the whale, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, divine creation. Factual evidence that a believer can share with a skeptic. Jeff notes something that he shares with others in his evangelism training and upcoming book that you need to learn how to share your faith before you can defend it and how evangelism and apologetics work together.  Jeff says one of the best things to do is to ask non-believers why they think a certain way.  By doing this, you will be able to understand and navigate more clearly what that person believes.  A lot of times, a person’s worldview is based on the viewpoints of their parents or others who have influenced them throughout their life.  Bodie Hodge former mechanical engineer now works at Answers in Genesis. Jeff asks Bodie how he went from engineering to being a Christian apologist.   Jeff asks Bodie to share why he is so passionate about apologetics. The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved by Ken Hamm Grea resource for men and kids.  You can get that copy here at a special price through the Men Unplugged partner affiliate link. Get all of Answers in Genesis books from the Men Unplugged resources page. Another great tool for answering these questions from Genesis is the Strand Study Bible which you can get here only at MenUnplugged.net   The key is the interpretation of the evidence. Soft tissue in dinosaur bones good evidence of divine creation. Bishop Bell’s tomb at Carlisle Cathedral in northern England.  Bishop Bell is actually buried in the church. Skeptics a lot of times want to mock what we believe as Christians.     What is the significance of believing in creation versus evolution. Bodie says if there was a big bang theory there would be no right and wrong. Jeff asks what evidence is there to support young earth creationism versus other theories.  Bodie says have a proper understanding of the evidence.  So often we are told the secular interpretation of it and just accept it.  Look at rock layers from a flood. When we look at the evidence everything makes sense that the earth is young.  Coal, oil, fossil formation, canyons, stalagmites, etc. Tower of Babel - historical and archeological evidence on it.  Can trace these people groups all around the world. A chat about Noah, his sons and his grandsons. Bodie Hodge says that when people started to buy in a evolutionary worldview racism started to explode.   Jeff talks about Genesis 11, Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 1:1 using the Hebrew word Elohim the composite unity word for God.  Showing the Triune Godhead.   How using these verses are a good tool to share the Gospel to someone of another faith.  Great resource for every Christian being published this year.  Jeff Jerina's evangelism training book that gives each believer a simple, proven and biblical method for sharing the Gospel to anyone, anytime, anywhere.  To pre-order the book which will be sold for less than $20 send Jeff an email at jeff@MenUnplugged.net. Bishop Bell appears as a main character in Rolf Hochhuth's 1967 play entitled "Soldiers". Bell confronts Churchill on the morality of murder from the air, especially when it involves the murder of civilians. Such a confrontation never actually took place, but the Bishop and the Prime Minister had the thoughts and stated them. The PM detested Bell. In Act Three of Hochhuth's play, Bell loses and Churchill wins. In the moral balance, Churchill lost and Bell won. "Soldiers" is a play about the massacre of this world that is repeatedly staged by Power. As in the case of un-manned drone aircraft today. Nobody seems to care. Nobody 'gives'. Yet one day...

George K.A. Bell (1883-1958) was the Bishop of Chichester during World War II. He addressed the House of Lords on February 9, 1944, questioning the Government on the use of "carpet bombing" of German cities. Bishop Bell regarded this kind of bombing, which was intended to destroy German morale and bring the war to an end, as a war crime. At the time, Bell was the only person in Britain willing to say such a thing in a 'national' forum such as the Parliament. He was attacked all across the board as being 'pro-German' and almost a traitor. (He had, incidentally, been the first public figure in the country to criticize Hitler's anti-semitic legislation. He had done so in 1934.) Because of his speech in the Lords, Bishop Bell lost all chance of promotion in the Church of England. Today, however, he is almost canonized there, and certainly within the Church. This podcast is about Bell's speech. It also relates his theme to the current use of un-manned drone aircraft to commit targed assassination from the air -- or rather, from Las Vegas.
