Dan Donegan, the guitarist for Disturbed was surprised to see this happen at Tommy Lee's backyard barbecue! Chaz and AJ spoke with Dan about the band hitting it big with their debut album, getting invited to Tommy Lee's house, their viral moment with a young fan last month, and if they are attending the Grammys on Sunday. 

Foreigner has played Pine Knob 36 times, but their 37th show on August 30 might be their last. After the Chicago band, Disturbed had the biggest hit of their career in 2015 with their cover of the song "The Sound of Silence" they experimented more with acoustic songs and ballads on the following album. Well, that time period is long past as the heavy driving Disturbed are back in all their glory. Their new album is called 'Divisive' and from start to finish, it kicks you in the ass. The only reprieve is from a slower song that features the legendary Ann Wilson of Heart. To celebrate the release of this incredible piece of hard rock, Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan sat down with me to chat, and even explains why it's OK that people may know them as the "oh ah ah" band.

Dan from Disturbed was kind enough to take some time to talk about the upcoming record, working with Anne Wilson, and even his thoughts on social media, and more. PG's Rebecca Dirks caught up with guitar tech Trevor Cole who gives us a look at Disturbed's Dan Donegan's array of guitars and lets us in on how Dan has everything set up for their tour.

"For many years we've been talking about wanting to go into some acoustic ideas", stressed Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan on the song selection for new album Evolution which was released today, "and it was new territory for us. We just made it a priority to start out with it this time around because over the years we've always talked about it but the second we would plug in and do all the heavier tracks we would always put it on the back burner. This time around we made it a priority to start out with these ideas first and it was exciting because it was new ground. It was a new inspiration and even though they are semi-acoustic throughout some of those tracks there's still some dark themes to it; talking about addiction and depression and death and things that have affected us throughout the years so I think we were just trying to find a good balance with the album to have different beddings and different foundations of the music so once we did the acoustic tracks we thought there was a way to mess them and blend them with some of the heavier tracks too".In the full interview Dan discusses Evolution in greater detail, the fan based poll to select the first single, the difficulties involved in evolving musically while still staying true to your roots, the early days of Disturbed including their breakthrough debut album The Sickness, how the band have changed musically from that album to the current one, their world tour and where Australia fits into the plans and more.
