Did you grow up without any bisexual representation, so you assumed you must be straight? Comedian and storyteller Dara M Wilson spent her Harvard years deducing that everyone dated their boyfriends and f*cked their girlfriends - I mean, obviously, we're all attracted to boobs, right? But as she prepares to announce her first queer relationship, she discovers she's been bi all along. This episode's story and song were both recorded live at Bawdy's first post-lockdown outdoor show in mid-2021, and the joy at this live show is palpable! #Bisexual #Vaccinated #Queer #Busty #Scissoring #ComingOut Song: ‘Vaccinated Libertine' (Jefferson Bergey) About the Storyteller: ❤ Dara M Wilson is Bay Area comedian and storyteller who's performed live at SF Sketchfest, Wakandacon, in her personal weekly finance podcast Money Honeys with Yasmine Khan, and her monthly stand-up show with Jackie Keliiaa: Amazonians. Her specialty is taking the toughest parts of life (racism, house fires, stalkers- she's experienced it all!) and finding the funny. She's been featured in Essence Magazine, Google Play Music and Blavity.com. There's a lot going on in the world. On top of the constant grind that capitalism demands, there's news of natural disasters, inflation, war and conflicts. And that's in addition to the interpersonal issues we all face. We could use a little more laughter in our lives. So last month, Rightnowish held an event called, Put Your Phone Down! A Rightnowish Comedy Night at KQED's headquarters in San Francisco. Hosted by Pendarvis Harshaw and Rightnowish producer Marisol Medina-Cadena, the evening consisted of a quick Q&A and an open mic segment where audience members came up and cracked some jokes. After the ice was broken and the punchlines were rollin ', three talented local comedians– Mike Evans Jr., Jackie Keliiaa, and Dara M. Wilson, stepped on the stage, one at a time, to headline the event. In this week's episode, we share a bit of that night. Read the transcript here. Check out a video of the full event here.
"If it seems to good to be true... it probably is." Words of wisdom we all know, but are so often tempted to ignore. In this episode, Dara M. Wilson talks about hiring a developer on Fiverr whose prices seemed too good to be true, and the ongoing headache that decision has caused. Are you a Nerd who loves research? Well, Dara M Wilson is, and what better time to study than Halloween ( or as she likes to call it, “Disneyland for people who F*ck”). And on this All Hallow’s Eve, her clever costume, a partner who wants her to initiate, and a houseful of revelers all come together for an exciting mid-party hookup. Their guests might even get to watch! It’s all perfect - until Dara’s gal shuts the party down. It’s definitely time for a tuneup, but when the ob/gyn can’t help, Dara turns to bottomless mimosas and a visit to Good Vibrations to learn something new about her own body. #ButtSex #TrickOrTreat #Halloween Want to enjoy this episode ad-free?
