Iman Humaydan's saga Songs for Darkness (Interlink, 2026) recalls the voices of four generations of women from one family in the imaginary village of Kasura, in Mount Lebanon. Its narrator, Asmahan, named after the beloved Syrian singer, has devoted her adult life to recovering the stories of her ancestors, who persisted in the shadows of male supremacy, war, military occupation, and impoverishment. Cette semaine, je te propose un épisode qui va t'aider à maîtriser l'art de la conversation en français. Ah là là, le small talk ou l'art d'engager la conversation en français… Le small talk, c'est comme la danse, la course à pied ou le français, ça s'apprend. Je suis une professionnelle du small talk car ça fait partie de mon métier. Je fais parler mes élèves. J'aide mes élèves à avoir confiance en eux quand ils parlent français. Donc je dois les faire parler et le small talk, c'est parfait pour ça.Un professeur qui ne sait pas faire parler ses élèves n'est pas un bon professeur. Le small talk, c'est quoi ? C'est, comme on dit en français « parler de la pluie et du beau temps » et engager la conversation avec tout le monde : ton chef, ton voisin, ta belle-mère, la boulangère…Certains diront que le small talk, c'est parler pour ne rien dire, d'autres diront que ça crée du lien. Le small talk, lorsqu'il est bien préparé, c'est quelque chose de très agréable socialement s'il est fait avec les bonnes personnes. Parler d'amour dans une langue étrangère peut être parfois un défi. Bien que la langue française soit connue comme la langue de l'amour, il existe très peu de livres d'apprentissage du français qui parlent en détail de l'amour. Les cours traditionnels de français langue étrangère survolent très souvent les aspects de la vie amoureuse en français. Par conséquent, beaucoup de personnes qui ont le français comme deuxième ou troisième langue n'ont pas assez de vocabulaire pour parler d'amour en français. Dans certaines cultures, parler d'amour est de l'ordre de la vie privée et cela rend la tâche de l'apprentissage du français parfois gênante quand on veut apprendre à parler d'amour. Je suis professeure de français langue étrangère depuis des années et beaucoup de mes élèves veulent pouvoir parler d'amour en français avec des francophones natifs. Etant donné que j'ai constaté qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup de contenus sur l'amour en France et en français pour les personnes qui apprennent le français langue étrangère, j'ai décidé de créer un épisode à ce sujet. Dans l'épisode tu vas découvrir : Les différents statuts : en couple, célibataire, … Certaines astuces pour utiliser les applications de rencontre en français. Je vais t'expliquer comment comprendre une invitation entre les lignes. Magomyed was born in Saudi Arabia during a time of profound darkness. The morality police controlled the population through roadside checkpoints. They would halt vehicles and demand identification while aggressively interrogating passengers: “Who is this woman beside you?” Clerics cited ‘honour' in their sermons, urging men to tighten their control over the women of their families, warning that otherwise they would be “forced” to commit violence to safeguard familial honor. Teachings such as these, repeated endlessly, propelled thousands of young men into the ranks of Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and similar groups.At seventeen, Magomyed was on the way to answer the call for jihad in Syria. Only 50 kilometers from the Saudi–Iraqi border, he turned back, deciding he wanted to find a different way to serve the ummah. Over the next two years he completely deradicalized, and later moved to Canada to pursue an engineering degree. Mogamyed will join Yasmine to discuss the normalization of radicalization in Islamic countries, how quickly that radicalization can lead to giving up your life in the name of Allah, and discuss the difficulty of deradicalization and all of the obstacles and risks involved with making that decision.

Cette semaine, j'ai un invité très spécial et assez unique. Il s'appelle Yannick et il est artisan fromager. Pour la petite histoire, mon amoureux, Renaldo, habitait avant dans le 15e arrondissement et il allait très souvent dans une boutique pour acheter son fromage. Comme tout Français qui se respecte, il aime le très bon fromage et il ne va qu'à une seule adresse, c'est chez Thomas Artisan, au 66 rue du commerce où Yannick travaille. En y allant régulièrement, je voyais bien que Yannick était passionné et surtout passionnant. Donc je lui ai dit “Écoute j'ai un podcast sur la langue française et la culture française, est-ce que tu accepterais de venir me parler de ton métier dans mon podcast ? » Et il a directement accepté. J'ai plein de points en commun avec Yannick, notamment le fait de ne pas rentrer dans le moule de l'école. En France, en Belgique et dans beaucoup de pays, encore aujourd'hui malheureusement, si tu ne termines pas l'école comme tout le monde, tu culpabilises car la société te fait croire que c'est le seul moyen de réussir professionnellement parlant. Pour Yannick, l'école s'est trompée à son sujet. Tu n'entendras pas quelqu'un d'aussi passionné et passionnant que lui à propos de son métier. Yannick partagera avec nous son parcours professionnel mais aussi quelques secrets sur le fromage et définitions de base. Et j'ai aussi une annonce à faire pour les membres du Club. Lyssna på alla avsnitt i Sveriges Radios app. Petter funderar över ett fenomen som han kallar mittemot- paradoxen. I lokaltrafiken har han observerat att om det finns säten med fyra platser vända mot varandra så kommer de flesta att välja sätta sig mitt emot en främling och inte bredvid. Men å andra sidan, om två nära vänner sätter sig på sådana säten kommer de också i de flesta fall välja att sitta mittemot varandra. Hur kommer det sig, frågar han.Yasmine frågar varför det alltid känns så mycket jobbigare att plocka bort något jämfört med att ta fram något. Det är som ett inre motstånd trots att hon vet att det känns bra när sakerna är bortplockade. Det borde ju vara samma sak, funderar hon.Hektor undrar varför i övrigt intelligenta människor så tvärsäkert kan avfärda liv på andra planeter. För honom framstår det lika dumt som att skopa upp en liter havsvatten, konstatera att där inte finns någon fisk och landa i slutsatsen att det enda livet i världshaven måste vara alger och badsugna homo sapiens. Si tu es passionné(e) par la langue française et que tu as un niveau avancé, tu peux enseigner le français. Dorota déconstruit deux mythes à la perfection. Le premier : on peut enseigner le français même si ce n'est pas notre langue maternelle. Pour ce tout premier épisode de l'année 2026, je te propose un shot de vitamine C pour ton français. Quand j'ai lancé les interviews dans ce podcast, j'avais une vision très précise : t'aider à aller encore plus loin en français et t'inspirer.Comme dit la citation en anglais, je ne sais pas qui l'a dite mais peu importe, « If you're the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room ». Et je sais que je ne sais pas tout, je sais, avec toi en plus, qu'avec les interviews, je continue à apprendre. C'est le dernier épisode de l'année et c'est sans doute mon préféré. Il me permet de me poser et de réfléchir à tout ce qui s'est passé dans mon école mais aussi dans ma vie privée. 2025 a été… éblouissante et c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire. Elle a commencé comme 2024 avait terminé, c'est-à-dire horrible et ce n'est qu'à partir du mois de juillet, après avoir bien touché le fond d'un point de vue business, que j'ai enfin vu la lumière au bout du tunnel. J'ai fait le choix d'entreprendre malgré moi et pour rien au monde je ne le regrette. En revanche, il faut parfois avoir les nerfs bien accrochés pour ne pas céder. Entreprendre, c'est rouler avec une Ferrari sans assurance. Dans cet épisode divisé en 3 parties, je vais d'abord parler de ton apprentissage, je vais ensuite partager ce qui s'est passé dans mon business et je finirai avec quelques aspects de ma vie privée qui ont un petit lien avec ton français. Tu découvriras que j'ai changé d'avis sur certains sujets et que j'ai même ajouté une 8e langue à mon arc (pourquoi ?!

Bien que la France soit (subjonctif) un pays laïc, Noël est une fête importante et beaucoup de personnes, même non pratiquantes la célèbrent. Personnellement, je ne suis pas une fan de Noël mais j'adore l'esprit de Noël et les traditions autour de cette fête.
