Today, I'm talking to newcomer to the Star Wars universe, David Menkin. David recently voiced Luke Skywalker (!!!) in the incredibly popular and well received LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. We dive into his inspirations and the journey to voicing one of the most popular characters in the galaxy. The audio is slightly choppy but this is a fun, quick, wonderful conversation with a very talented and very enthusiastic actor. I hope you all enjoy. Thank you so much to Mr. Menkin for coming on the show and telling his stories. Look for him soon at a convention near you, as well as on his Twitter account: twitter.com/DavidMenkin Thank you, as always, to Mr. Derek Maki of Coolwaters Productions, who helped set up this interview, and so many of our previous ones. Ray Hassett played Lt. Tigran Jamiro on Echo Base, in The Empire Strikes Back. Of course, he is best known for his iconic barb to Han Solo: "Your Tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker!" Truly one of the more unique interviews we’ve had on this show, we delve into his early improvisational work, pairing with John Ratzenberger, becoming a fire eater on the streets of London, acting in James Bond and Superman, as well as the work that he does now tying all of his skills together. As mentioned, you can visit RayHassett.com for more information on his current work. Thank you also to Derek Maki and Coolwaters Productions, friends of the show, who made this interview possible. "The shield will be down in moments, you may start your landing." Julian Glover is an incredible actor, who has appeared in numerous movies and franchises, including The Empire Strikes Back as everyone's favorite AT-AT commander, General Maximilian Veers. From being next door neighbors with producer Robert Watts to working with Irvin Kershner and Steven Spielberg, we cover a lot of ground in this short (LIVE) episode from Star Wars Celebration Chicago. In addition to his work on Star Wars, we also touch on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Walter Donovan), Harry Potter (Aragog) and Game of Thrones (Grand Maester Pycelle). "These aren't the droids we're looking for ... move along." Anthony Forrest played two different key roles in the original Star Wars. As a Sandtrooper on Mos Eisley, he was the first on-screen recipient of a Jedi mind trick. And, in the legendary Anchorhead deleted scenes, he stood out next to Biggs and Luke, as Fixer, to look to a potential space battle. We talk about a lot, including his passion formusic, as well as relationship with the fandom and conventions. He will be appearing in April at Celebration Chicago, which you can now purchase autograph / photo-op tickets for from Topps: https://store.epicphotoops.com/star-wars-celebration-chicago/2019/anthony-forrest To check out Mr. Forrest's incredible music, please visit: https://anthonyforrest.bandcamp.com/ And a very special thank you to dear friends of the show Mr. Gerald Home (Tessek, from Return of the Jedi) and Derek Maki from Coolwaters Productions for working so hard to coordinate this interview. Dave Barclay worked on both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, bringing two of the most iconic Star Wars characters ever to life. Beginning as a sculptor working with Stuart Freeborn, Mr. Barclay was then quickly ushered into the Henson world of puppets, controlling Yoda alongside Frank Oz. Returning to the galaxy to work as Jabba's right hand, Mr. Barclay has had a storied career in movies (including great work on Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). We go through as much as we can! We want to give special thanks to Derek Maki and Coolwaters Productions for setting this interview up. For more information about upcoming appearances (as well as how to purchase autographs), check out CoolwatersProds.com Mr. Barclay's next appearance will be at the Central Canada Comic Con, from on October 26th-28th, 2018 at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
