Did you REALLY think we were done with Sam Witwer? When our last episode aired, Sam reached out to say he wanted to respond to some of what my producer Jeph and I said after the interview. We said, why not come back and be on the show again? I'm so glad he said yes! This extra conversation clarified a lot for me about the technology behind his new Star Trek Short 765874 Unification. Plus, the world just found out about Maul: The Shadow Lord, in which Sam is reprising his role as Darth Maul in a new animated series! Jeph and I press him as hard as we can for any details about the show. I know I can't wait to watch— who knows maybe Bo Katan will make an appearance on the show in the future. I'm always glad anytime I get to talk to Sam and I hope you enjoy this extended conversation! Happy Tuesday! If you are a true Star Trek fan like I am, then this week's episode is for you. I am talking with my friends Sam Witwer and David Collins about their beautiful and controversial new Star Trek film, 765874 Unification. If you love Star Trek and haven't heard about this project, go check it out before you listen to this week's episode! Using incredible cutting-edge technology, the film features Spock and Captain Kirk (yes, the originals!) only Kirk is played by Sam. Don't believe me? Watch the film, it will blow your mind. I've known Sam going back to when he played Crashdown on Battlestar Galactica. He has also done voice work for Star Wars: Unleashed and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. David Collins is a prolific sound designer, including for all things Star Wars, from The Mandalorian to Skeleton Crew. I had such a blast nerding out with these guys and I think you will too! Stick around for the hindsight, where my producer Jeph talk about the episode and get into the ethics of using AI to enhance an actor's performance. It's a great conversation! One of the most menacing and magnetic figures in the Star Wars universe is back. At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Lucasfilm revealed Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, an all-new animated series heading to Disney+ in 2026. The show will bring back Sam Witwer as the voice of Darth Maul, marking another chapter in the character's legacy that stretches from The Phantom Menace to Clone Wars, Rebels, and even Solo: A Star Wars Story.A Darker Chapter in Maul's SagaShadow Lord picks up after the events of The Clone Wars, exploring Maul's return to the shadows as he rebuilds his criminal empire on a remote planet still untouched by the Empire's grip. According to footage shown at the Lucasfilm Animation panel, this is not a redemption arc. This is Maul at his most cunning and brutal—still burning with rage and ambition. The clip shown in Tokyo sets the tone clearly: gritty and intense. We see Maul leading a prison break to rescue a Force-sensitive Twi'lek, whom he offers to train. The scene closes with a flurry of lightsaber combat as Maul cuts down multiple enemies with ruthless efficiency. The animation leans darker in tone and palette, clearly setting this series apart from previous entries. The Return of Sam WitwerFans of Clone Wars and Rebels will be thrilled to see Sam Witwer return as Maul. His voice performance has been integral to the character's transformation from silent assassin to tragic antihero. Witwer's ability to convey Maul's internal torment and calculating menace has made the character one of the most layered villains in Star Wars canon.A New Era for Star Wars AnimationShadow Lord arrives at a time when Lucasfilm Animation is doubling down on character-driven stories. This series promises to delve into Maul's psychology, power struggles, and his role in the criminal underworld. It's not about galactic conquest. It's about survival, manipulation, and control. With Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord set to launch in 2026, fans can expect a thrilling, emotionally charged series that finally gives Maul the center stage he deserves.

The Callisto Protocol is now available on Xbox Game Pass. When I first saw the trailer, this sci-fi horror game was up my alley. It gave me Aliens, Lockout(Guy Pearce space prison movie from 2012) vibes. The game casts actors we've most likely seen(or heard) somewhere before. The beginning portion introduces us to Josh Duhamel, known for his roles in the Transformers movies, Karen Fukuhara from Amazon's 'The Boys, and Sam Witwer, the voice of Darth Maul in the animated Star Wars Clone Wars series. Playing the first 25-30 minutes of the game, I was immediately drawn into the story. These two cargo pilots are on a 'final job' transporting something. It all goes awry, and one of the pilots, Jason Lee(Josh Duhamel), ends up on the prison planet of Callisto. He is incarcerated for mysterious reasons not yet revealed. He wakes up after going unconscious from being painfully processed into the system, only to find his cell open and the prison in chaos. This is the beauty of streaming a story-based game like The Callisto Protocol. It hooks you from the start and leaves you craving to uncover the rest of this thrilling narrative. Join me as I make Kendermore Cobbler from Heroes' Feast Flavors of the Multiverse: An Official D&D Cookbook for the first time! Heroes' Feast Flavors of the Multiverse was written by Kyle Newman, Jon Peterson, Michael Witwer, & Sam Witwer and published by Ten Speed Press on November 7, 2023.
In the novel From a Certain Point of View celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, there are many chapters regarding many of the characters from the fifth Star Wars film. One in particular is the chapter called Disturbance by Mike Chen and narrated by Sam Witwer, himself. This chapter blew my mind. It's in regards to the scene where Vader kneels before Palpatine to only learn that his master has sensed a great disturbance in the force. The book states that Palpatine, moments before, entered Vader's dream of him and Luke killing Sidious. Although Anakin was Anakin Skywalker once again, and without a respirator as Vader requires. Luke was the perfect Sith of legend, as Palpatine says. The fight was incredible, and something I'd love to see in a film someday. This chapter in the book was one of my favourites. It just ties everything in so well, and to show this fan-fiction in canon is mesmerizing to think of, and a Fan-Fic I'd actually like to create. Anakin Skywalker watching his son, no, encouraging his son to beat the emperor. The question is, would Luke be strong enough to kill the emperor like this? In the chapter it explains how Luke would rise above Vader to see the true potential of his bloodline, over his father's final death. I don't think he would be, not in the time after Empire, say, Luke did join his father, he wouldn't be ready so soon. It would require a year or two of proper Sith training to rival the emperor so easily the way he did. Then again, it was just Vader's dream. Another thing that stuck out to me was that Palpatine mentions Vader has the fiery heart of Anakin Skywalker, further proving that Anakin never left Vader, just as we saw closer and closer to the end of Return of the Jedi. I think this excerpt is one of the first showcases of Palpatine's affirmation that the son of Skywalker, if turned, would truly be the Anakin Skywalker he never got. For all those years he worked on turning Anakin to the dark side, it eventually all fell to pieces when he failed against Obi-Wan Kenobi to his own arrogance. Learn more about your ad choices. Join the website here! http://www.thekristianharloff.com Fantastic Four casting has been running rampant for a few months now. We are getting some rumors that Dr. Doom might be cast as well. The rumor is that Oppenheimer star Josh Hartnett was offered the role before the strikes. True? False? Speaking of rumors, is Sam Witwer the Inquisitor in the Star Wars Ahsoka series? That is one of the theories and the popular actor gave some comments on the theory. Please Dave Filoni give us Starkiller played by Sam Witwer in Ahsoka. Apprentices of Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker fighting each other would be beyond COOL to see. I hope we get to witness the glory. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In today's episode, we're going to see what Dave Filoni and Sam Witwer have to say regarding The Clone Wars Season 5 "The Lawless" episode where Palpatine shows up to fight Darth Maul and Savage Opress. Clearing up any further confusion. Sam Witwer did not have a cameo in season 2's The Mandalorian Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It was an absolute pleasure having Sam on the show. I wish he would make a Star Wars channel because we know all the information would be correct! I really feel like the show was just getting started as it was about to close, so I hope Sam would have some free time to come back on the show and continue the fun conversation. Sam Witwer (Being Human, Star Wars) joins us this week and we get deep. He opens up about reassessing his life and how people's impression of him being a screw up molded his self image for years. Sam talks about how this industry encourages people to hide vulnerability and put up a front; and how some of the false fame that can come as a side effect of this can be harmful to your mental health. Whole lot of real life talk in this episode, but we also get into Sam's love for (and career with) the Star Wars franchise, how some of the SiFi issues resolved on Being Human, and his experience in Season 8 of Smallville.
