In today's devotional, we're going to look together at the marriage of faith and works. One of my greatest struggles is working with God rather than for God. God cares deeply about our work, our impact in this life, but not because he needs us to serve him or work for him, but because he wants to work with us. He wants to give us a picture of his goodness and love at work in the lives of others, and he wants to deepen our relationship with him by identifying and empowering us in our unique calling. May we gain revelation today that would stick, that would transform our understanding and deepen our experience of the connection, the relationship between faith and works. Our Scripture for today comes from James 2:26, and today's worship is For Your Glory by Craig and Rachel Denison. -- Faith doesn't happen on its own. It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It's a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself. It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it's supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you. We pray our printed devotionals, Faith and Trust, help people like you experience the life changing reality that faith and trust have on your everyday life. With Faith you'll: Discover a Biblical framework for living faithfully Study powerful moments of God's faithfulness in scripture Tear down personal strongholds in your life where you struggle with faith Develop a lifestyle of faith, that weathers the storms of life And every dollar you give today goes to help more people like you experience the nearness and love of our God. Everything changes when we learn to trust and become filled with faith in our good, good God. Get your copy at supportfirst15.org!

We want the peace and passion that comes from living with God, not for God. But when Monday morning rolls around we're left thinking: “Now what?” “How do I find and keep a daily connection with my Creator on my own?” At First15, we know that meaningful worship isn't just for Sunday. Every believer should be able to find a daily connection to God with fresh worship created specifically for their weekday. _____ First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. To revive. We need the stones which were burnt by fire to be revived! Nehemiah 4:2. Revived from the rubbish heap, also meaning bones. They lie in the dust. But the burnt ones will be revived, and they are the builders. The bones will live. God is calling forth his servants from the dust, and breathing life into their mouths! Stand up and speak oh revived ones! Awaken to the fullness of your destiny! Be revived from sickness. Be revived from discouragement. Be revived from faintness. Be revived from death. Lord I ask you to revive the people with fullness of life in your favour. Restored to life, restored to health, nourished up, quickened, recovered, repaired, saved and made whole! For Your Glory! I see a gateway to those humbled ones, and God is breathing life into them. Their eyes are opening. Their mouth is opening. They have awoken!

And if I’m being honest, a lot of it is really confusing. In Matthew 21 Jesus tells us that we’ll receive anything we ask for, if we have faith. Hebrews 11 tells us that it’s impossible to please God if we don’t have faith. 2 Corinthians 5 tells us that it is by faith that we “see” the path forward, and not with our physical sight. But when I look into my own heart, I come face to face with ways I doubt on a daily basis. I often trust in my own strength, lean on my own understanding, and seek to provide for myself with my own power rather than relying on the strength, empowering, and provision of God. But, I also know that simply trying to have more faith doesn’t work either. This is why I wrote a four-week devotional, Faith, to unpack what the Bible says about living a life marked by an authentic faith. Faith isn’t something we muster up on our own. It’s not something we produce or create. Faith is the natural response to seeing, experiencing, and believing in God’s faithfulness. And the pathway to greater faith is greater experience, greater understanding, and a true heart-knowledge of God’s faithfulness to us that guides our thoughts, emotions, and actions. We've launched Volume 6 of our First15 Devotional Series, Faith, created to guide you into transformative experiences with God’s faithfulness and empower you to start living a life marked by authentic faith. True to its title, the Cleveland based performer’s independent debut album Road Trip chronicles his multi-faceted journey – starting with playing the sax in church and, over the past decade, founding and leading The Cavor Project, an 11 piece ensemble renowned as one of the most diverse bands in the city. Andre Cavor found the perfect producer to take his artistry to the next level in Darren Rahn, a saxophonist and artist who has worked his studio magic for Whalum and Butler in addition to genre greats Dave Koz, Wayman Tisdale, Najee, Eric Darius, Jeffrey Osborne and Jeff Lorber. The collection includes three original tracks penned by Darren Rahn (“Road Trip,” “Say Something” and “Without A Doubt”), powerhouse covers of Adele’s “Hello” and After 7’s late 80’s smash “Ready or Not,” and five of Andre’s favorite all time gospel tunes – “More Than Anything,” “For Your Glory” (featuring background vocals), “Total Praise,” The Clark Sisters classic “You Brought the Sunshine” and “Heaven,” originally recorded by BeBe and CeCe Winans. “Mixing contemporary jazz and gospel songs on Road Trip felt like a natural extension of my many live performances over the years,” says Andre, who first began playing the sax at 16 but let it go during his eight year stint in the army before rediscovering it in the early 2000s. Follow Andre on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
