*This episode mentions suicide and may not be suitable for all listeners.* This week, we’ll hear from BeBe Winans, a celebrated figure in gospel and R&B music from the renowned Winans family, known for their deep-rooted musical legacy. Raised in a household steeped in gospel traditions and surrounded by the influences of Motown, Bebe experienced some of the ups and downs of the music scene as he and his sister, CeCe Winans, ultimately rose to fame as a beloved singing duo. Later in the episode, we’ll hear from Tasha Cobbs Leonard, a powerful worship leader, pastor, and entrepreneur. Raised in a faith-filled family, Tasha was encouraged by her father, a pastor, to embrace her gifts. A “divine setup” led to her first album, and she went on to inspire millions with songs like "Break Every Chain," which grew from her own battle with depression. But I think in the process is when we gain all of the knowledge, all of the wisdom that we need in order to be great stewards of what God entrusted us with.” - Tasha Cobbs Leonard “I believe it's always intentional on God's part to place people in your life who see things in you that you may not see in that season.” - Tasha Cobbs Leonard “Though many days I was discouraged and I didn't know what I was doing, I know that God was with me every step of the way.” - Tasha Cobbs Leonard ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD." Isaiah 54:17 Break Every Chain, a powerful anthem of freedom and deliverance through Christ reminds us that no matter what burdens we carry, there is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. Each of us faces struggles and challenges that can feel overwhelming, but know that you are not alone. In moments when you feel weighed down, call upon His name and trust in His power. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 61:1, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me... to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." This divine promise assures us that liberation is within reach through Jesus. Whatever chains are binding you—be it fear, anxiety, or any form of oppression—they have no hold against His mighty power. Joshua 1:5 says, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you." Psalm 34:15 reassures us, saying, "The Lord's eyes are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry." Therefore, take these words to heart as you navigate life's journey. Understand deeply that Christ's strength is made perfect in your weakness; He will sustain you and help you overcome every obstacle. As Tasha Cobbs Leonard sings so prophetically, I hear the chains falling. Let this be your declaration today. Believe that with each prayer and each step in faith, those bonds are breaking away. Embrace the freedom offered by Christ and walk confidently into a future unshackled by past pains or present fears. You are destined for victory because there is unmatched power in God's name! Amen. Exodus 14:14 says, "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Amen. Prayer for the day! I pray for you, dear one. As I lift my voice to the heavens, I hear the chains falling and the bonds of oppression breaking. Just as a caterpillar sheds its cocoon to become a butterfly, so too are you shedding what binds you. I proclaim that you are destined for victory. Let no fear or doubt hold you back, for the Lord is your strength and refuge. In Jesus' name. Amen. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastor-divineo/support

The legal system exists to maintain the status quo; it almost always has. It is often controlled by self-serving, powerful, rich individuals and corporate interests who like how things are and want to keep them that way. When prophets come who point out flaws in the system, it feels threatened, and the system seeks to stamp out critique and dissent with extreme force and a thin veneer of legality. Little did those systems know that the Jesus Revolution could not be killed: crucifixion only paves the way for resurrection, and a people willing to suffer and love against all odds, in the power and name of the Spirit, can endure and overcome injustice. Ever since Pentecost, every time those Spirit-filled people have formed non-violent, enemy-loving movements outside of the system, the world has changed, and the systems have been forced to bow in a prophetic nod to Jesus' second coming. Will you bow? Will you live in Him and for Him, and welcome His soon return? This week, Benjamin Chua walks our church through Acts 24.

Even with our best intentions, there is sin deep within us that seeks to take charge. A life of freedom is not something we can perform our way into—we cannot will or work our way into righteousness. It is only Jesus who truly frees. (Romans 7 :1-25) Speaker: Trip Lee
Before Jesus, we offered our lives to sin, allowing it to tell us how to live. But this illusion of freedom is a trap that keeps us in a life of death. Not only has Jesus broken the chains of sin, but He wants to break the chains of temptation. (Romans 6 :15-23) Speaker: Brock O'Dell

The work of Jesus on the cross means we are no longer captive to sin's demands! If we are included in His sin-conquering death, then we can walk in His life. Romans 6 calls us to give sin no way in and to walk out this new way of life wholeheartedly. (Romans 6:1-14) Speaker: Carl Kuhl
No matter the story of our past or how deep the chasm of sin that separated us from God, there is overwhelming grace found in Jesus alone. It's not just a grace that frees us from our past, but one that unleashes us into a life of true freedom. (Romans 5: 12-21) Speaker: Kyle Idleman

Every day we are met with the reality that life isn't the way God intended. But Jesus doesn't want us to live as slaves to a disappointed life. He wants to lift our eyes to the truth that He is the one hope that will never disappoint. (Romans 5:1-5) Speaker: Kyle Idleman

Jonathan Hickory and trauma knew each other well. Childhood trauma coupled with on-the-job trauma as a police officer crippled Jonathan and compelled him to turn to alcohol as an escape. “Police officers see the darkest moments in peoples' lives in this fallen world,” Jonathan said in his book, Break Every Chain, which was made into a movie of the same name. A Christian family's response to their own pain and suffering made Christianity look intriguing, but Jonathan was so plagued with alcohol addiction that he didn't have true eyes to see. “The more I drank, the further I withdrew from God. Angry outbursts became a daily activity for me. I was dying inside.”More pain and trauma followed Jonathan until his wife's desperate plea for him to join her at church. That day he heard that God has the final word on pain with a message from 1 Peter that compelled Jonathan to saving faith. "Jesus help me become the man my family needs me to be. Forgive me for what I've done. Help heal our wounds. Help me fix this mess I made please."As he slowly started saying yes to Jesus, his alcohol addiction abated and his marriage was restored. On this episode, Break Every Chain, Benjamin will be teaching you how to overcome the chains that are holding you back, the same chains that could potentially affect generations to come. THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT EPISODE. What ran in your family for generations can stop with you, with God's help, you can usher in a new chapter and new future. You are listening to this episode by accident. You are here for a reason. You are a chain-breaker. Episode Quote: "A Chain breaker is the fork in the family tree. A person, just like you who says, I will not carry the toxic patterns and behaviors of my family or community forward anyone more. It's a line in the sand that says, I deserve better, my marriage deserves better, my family deserves better, my children deserve better, and future generations deserve better. You are choosing to be the person that sets a new precedence in your family and in your community." This episode, like all Rise and Lead Podcast episodes, is highly practical and motivating. Before he knew knew it, he was overcome with darkness, PTS and alcoholism. Jonathan and I discuss the roll of the police officer and the toll the job takes on our lives. The inability to get help played a vital role in his alcohol abuse, PTS and , suicidal ideations. Jonathan needed help and he needed it quickly. He found himself in the middle of the biggest fight of his life, it was the battle between light and darkness. The winner would retain his soul! After "allowing the enemy to destroy his life and his family for so long," Jonathan made the decision to cry out and get help from the One who saves! Jonathan's battle was not easy or overnight. He was under attack and needed a lifeline. Listen to this episode to learn more about Jonathan's recovery and his search for light. His story has also been told on the big screen.
