That led to a bigger question:Is sharing needs, desires, boundaries, and preferences really topping from the bottom… or is it simply healthy communication?In this episode, we explore the fine line between a submissive trying to control a dynamic and a submissive providing information that helps a dominant make informed decisions. We talk about how communication evolves in long-term relationships, why needs and desires change over time, and how check-ins can strengthen rather than weaken a Female-Led Relationship. We also revisit a topic we've discussed before: confidence. New dominants often worry they're doing things wrong, while submissives may struggle to express needs without feeling like they're directing the relationship. Somewhere in the middle is a conversation that needs to happen. One of the biggest takeaways from this discussion is that communication is not the enemy of dominance. Republican state legislative leaders made headlines in recent days by announcing that they have finally reached agreement on a new state budget. But even as that long overdue news was being made, the lawmakers also moved to advance a series of state constitutional amendments that would, if enacted, have massive implications for future state budgets and core public services. Topping the list: a proposal to slash the already existing cap on state income taxes and another to cap local property taxes — moves that would almost certainly further eviscerate the state's already torn and threadbare public education system. Isabelle Stadden had been a child protege in the pool, representing the USA on the international stage multiple times over, accruing numerous accolades well before she even reached college. Attending Cal Berkeley, Stadden continued to rake in awards and honors, becoming an NCAA All-American many times over during her 5 seasons with the Golden Bears. Weeks after completing her undergraduate degree, Stadden competed at the 2025 US World Trials. In what was supposed to be a springboard for her pro career, Stadden had what she says was one of the worst meets of her life. Her performances in Indianapolis were lackluster and resulted in her first time missing the USA National Team in 7 seasons. After that, Stadden took a long time away from the pool. 6 months removed from her last competition, the Minnesota native decided to give it one more go around, this time doing it for herself rather than feeling the external pressures of performing for a team or to satisfy others' expectations. She moved to arguably the top women's program in the country, the University of Virginia, to train under the 2024 Olympic women's head coach, Todd DeSorbo. Just 4 months into training in Charlottesvillle, she went a 2:05.9 in the 200 back in early March, dropping over a second off of her previous PB of 2:07.28 set in May of 2021. 7 weeks later at the Ft Lauderdale Open, Stadden struck gold again, touching in 2:04.37, becoming the #4 performer in history and #1 in the world this year. The subject of whether you should top your pepper plants can bring on a pretty strong debate among gardeners. That's because this is one of those topics where the answer genuinely is: it depends. And I mean that in a very specific, evidence-based way that comes down to two things: your climate and your pepper type. I'll be straight with you, I do not top my peppers. We are in a zone 6b in west central Missouri and our season is just short enough that for our large sweet peppers, by the time a topped plant recovered and loaded up with new fruit, I'd be in a race with the first frost, so I don't love my odds of winning. And for our smaller peppers, both hot and sweet, they branch naturally. They've never needed my help getting bushy and they generally end up so loaded with fruit there's no need for me to create new growing points. But that does NOT mean topping is wrong. In fact, if your growing season is long enough and you are growing the right type of pepper, there is a solid, research-grounded argument for it and I want to make that argument fairly today. I love an Anzac biscuit so much and this slice combines all the flavours of them with another Kiwi favourite, condensed milk! Thanks to Ripe Deli in Grey Lynn for the inspiration for this. Makes 20-24 pieces Ingredients Base 1½ cups rolled oats ¾ cups coconut ¾ cups plain flour ¼ cup sesame seeds 1½ tsp baking powder Pinch baking soda 150g butter ¾ cups brown sugar 2 tbsp. golden syrup Topping 1 x 395g sweetened condensed milk ½ cup brown sugar 100g butter 3 tbsp. golden syrup 1/3 cup walnut pieces Method Preheat your oven to 180C. Line a swiss roll tin with baking paper. Mix the dry ingredients of the base in a large bowl. Melt the butter, sugar, and golden syrup, and add to the dry ingredients. Mix well to combine. With wet hands, press all but half a cup of the mix into the tray in an even layer. Bake for 15 minutes. Make the topping while the base cooks. Heat all the ingredients except the walnuts in a saucepan and stir while it bubbles for about 10 minutes. Pour over the cooked base, sprinkle over the walnuts and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until top is browned and caramelised around the edges. Cool completely before slicing. Giving feedback, discussing boundaries, and talking through scenes or dynamics is healthy. Safety communication, redirection during play, and honest conversation should always be encouraged. An especially noteworthy 2026 primary election has come and gone, and there were a lot of important and high-profile outcomes – some expected and some surprising. Topping the list of predicted results were the outcomes in the Democratic and Republican U.S. Senate primaries, where former Gov. Roy Cooper and GOP party official Michael Whatley cruised to easy wins and are now set for what all expect to be an expensive November showdown. Economy Interesting Development – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney Announces New Limits on Foreign Steel and Aluminum, With New 25% Tariff on Steel Derivative Components   Prime Minister Mark Carney is conceding defeat to President Trump and positioning the Canadian economy to be compliant with U.S-Mexico trade regulations. However, Carney is not saying that, indeed he cannot; he's spent over a year telling Canadians that President Trump's trade and economic demands are not going to be accepted by Canada.  However, what he is factually doing is exactly what President Trump has demanded. Prime Minister Carney is saying he is restricting Steel and Aluminum imports from non-free trade agreement countries, and he is lowering the tonnage of Steel and Aluminum that will be permitted for import.  His claim is that this approach will help drive up “domestic demand” for Canadian Steel and Aluminum, but that's ancillary to the real objective. President Trump has demanded Canada stop importing cheap steel and aluminum mostly from China; including manufactured component goods that are made with steel and aluminum (think autos).  Canada would not stop, because they could not stop.  Their manufacturing base, green energy and climate change economy, is more of a component assembly system now. So, President Trump hit Canada with a 35% tariff, and things got ugly.  In June Trump raised the tariff to 50%. The back and forth has gone on all year. Carney now announces restrictions on imported steel and aluminum, as well as restrictions on imported derivative goods that come from steel and aluminum, in combination with a spending plan to bolster the Canadian steel and aluminum manufacturing base.  This ends up shifting the Canadian industrial sector to making steel and aluminum products without Chinese import dependency.
