Wayne Rooney lasted longer than the cabbage. And at least he didn't have one thrown at him like Steve Bruce.Marcus, Luke, Andy and Vish discuss the exit of Luke Littler's younger brother from Birmingham City and just why useful-FIFA-Committee-idiot-in-waiting Garry Cook appointed him in the first place. We also ponder West Ham fans' split on Davide Moyes and – in totally normal news – Gianluigi Buffon wants goals to be made bigger and the Argentina FA retire the men's national team number 10 shirt. It's a quick turnaround this week as Chris and Matthew return for this weeks episode with Dave otherwise engaged. Disappointment and frustration are in the air as Wayne Rooney's awful run continues following the poor performance and away defeat to Coventry. Lack of progress, player performance and fan reaction, amongst other things, are touched on as they discuss the fallout from the game. The lads also spend some time talking about Garry Cook's comments on the January transfer window and handful of transfer rumours. There's still time for Cornella and Wagner of the week before they look forward with uncontrollable excitement to the game against Cardiff City.

Often seen as something of a comic character, few can really deny that Garry Cook had a big influence on Manchester City. Never far away from the headlines, the former CEO was instrumental in bringing Sheikh Mansour's investment to Eastlands - as well as signing several players that would go on to lead the club to glory under Roberto Mancini. However, he was forced to resign after a scandal over emails he had sent over the seriously ill mother of Nedum Onuoha. The Blue Moon Podcast's David Mooney had a full and frank chat with the ex-CEO in 2015. Our GDPR privacy policy was updated on August 8, 2022. Visit acast.com/privacy for more information.
