The documentary from 2006 "Big Bucks, Big Pharma: Marketing Disease & Pushing Drugs." Big Bucks, Big Pharma pulls back the curtain on the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry to expose the insidious ways that illness is used, manipulated, and in some instances created, for capital gain. Focusing on the industry's marketing practices, media scholars and health professionals help viewers understand the ways in which direct-to-consumer (DTC) pharmaceutical advertising glamorizes and normalizes the use of prescription medication, and works in tandem with promotion to doctors.Combined, these industry practices shape how both patients and doctors understand and relate to disease and treatment. Ultimately, Big Bucks, Big Pharma challenges us to ask important questions about the consequences of relying on a for-profit industry for our health and well-being.

Good Morning and E News: Stranger Things are making big bucks!
Jeremiah Trombly committed to learning the game of tracking big bucks in 2018 and has since stacked up some impressive bucks across the Northeast. Growing up as a stand hunter, Jeremiah has a keen sense on locating bucks and has translated that into finding some of the biggest bucks roaming the timberlands of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Enjoy the many great buck stories Jeremiah has, including his 2021 New Hampshire buck that weighed in at 238 Pounds and sported an astonishing "moose like" heavy horned 160" rack.
In this episode, Jon Teater (Whitetail Landscapes) and Josh Streichert (JWS Logging) discuss aggressive hunting tactics that produce big bucks. Josh explains his hunting season, how he finds success and tactics that are ideal per the time of year to ensure you get on a target deer. Rattling deer as an option to pull deer into hunting locations. Using a hunting scout method to narrow down a deer's movement and get intel. Why does sometimes come into rattling sequences and how to approach hunting near bedding areas. Josh explains why deer are drawn to certain areas and how to take advantage of terrain and pinch points. Josh explains hunting out of state, timing of when to select certain areas. Josh details how he breaks down an area and what he does and does not consider when he selects a hunting location. Josh explains how he evades hunting pressure on public property. Josh explains the non-obvious features that lead to better hunting, and how to assess hill country and strategies that drive decisions to hunt high value areas. Those who sell "the return of the market, with no risk" is a bald-faced lie. Indexed annuities by any name can't possibly deliver what they promise. That makes those most (if not all) of those who sell them liars. The story of Disney's mismanagement shows just how scary individual stocks can be. Plus, we discuss the best performing stock of 2022. Then we hear from listeners: Should his financial advisor be fired and replaced by a target-date fund? Should she buy an energy ETF to replace her energy mutual fund? What do we think of brokered CDs? What should be done with retirement assets as the market has done so badly? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan talks with Jarrod Carter of Illinois about two successful deer hunting seasons. Jarrod breaks down his last two archery season where he had the opportunity to chase a couple large whitetail bucks. The guys discuss the terrain these deer lived in and how they traveled across the landscape. The key to Jarrods success over the past tow years is from being able to understand trail camera pictures and the ability to pull useable information from them. This led to Jarrod identifying patterns in target buck movement, that led to him staying out of the property until he started to get daylight pictures, that led to him being in the right place at the right time with a big mature buck within shooting range. Jos Cozijnsen has been working the climate puzzle for decades -- first by helping to negotiate the Kyoto Protocol and then by helping NGOs like the Environmental Defense Fund craft legal policies with teeth. Today, he offers his take on the year-end climate talks (COP27), which took place last month in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. We discuss the Bridgetown Initiative, the African Carbon Markets Initiative, and the new Loss and Damage Fund -- as well as the bad-faith arguments of those seeking to undermine carbon markets by pretending to make them perfect.
Play the wind. Play the wind. Play the wind. You can't get five minutes of deer hunting advice from anyone without hearing that phrase. And for good reason. If you want to kill deer, you do need to play the wind. But, as is the case with most things in deer hunting, it's not quite as simple as it sounds. Especially if you're hunting mature bucks. For those who consistently achieve that particular task, playing the wind involves not just keeping...

Big bucks down! November was good to the both of us, and in this episode we share the stories where we each tagged a mature buck!
For most of us across the country, our primary bow season has come to an end. A lot of us have been able to put our tags on some pretty awesome deer and are able to look back on this season with a full freezer. Some of us may not have been so luck yet, or just don't want to quit hunting till that last true day of deer season. For those people who are on either side of that line, you better be ready to embrace the cold! Hunting those late season bucks can be a challenge, freezing temperatures, late day movement, and trying to find their food source can make for some hard days in the stand. We wanted to give you guys our best strategies for hunting those late season bucks, whether you are hunting with a gun or a bow. From food sources, to clothing, we cover it all, sharing the success we have had and challenges we faced. We hope to see you still filling tags and enjoying the last few hunts of the season!
Join brother Jonah and Noah as they discuss some of Jonah's recent hunting adventures.
Greg and Adam it down and discuss the story of Gandalf. Greg's NH Rifle buck that Boone and Crockett Green scored at 180 6/8" and tipped the scales at 200lbs. It's been a 3 year pursuit of this buck for Greg and we get all the details from the day he located the buck to its final resting place. A true Northern giant and a great story to go with it.
December has arrived and the time has come to focus entirely on LATE-SEASON hunting tactics! This week we are joined by owner of Asio Gear, Joe Miles, as we dive into late-season hunting strategies across different regions of the country.

Today on the podcast I'm joined by my good Buddy Jake Hofer. Jake is one of the guys who I've learned a lot from when it comes to using longer-term trail camera data to plan hunts. More specifically how I approach patterning scrapes is directly influenced by Jake's approach (and love) for scrapes. Intimately learning when and how different scrapes are being used has helped me target specific dates related to a specific scape area. The past few years, I've picked a specific date I've seen active and not surprising, I had encounters with shooter bucks in both instances. Kinda crazy to pick one date in the entire whitetail calendar…and consistently have it produce. Hope you dig the conversation - thanks for listening! One of America's most expensive Congressional races is underway in Michigan's 7th Congressional district, with incumbent Democrat Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin facing off against GOP challenger and State Senator, Tom Barrett. The state of Michigan has historically elected Democrats when it comes to the presidency but tends to go red when electing its state legislature, so many expect this competitive district with two moderate lawmakers to be a potential bellwether in November. First, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) joins the podcast to explain how Democratic accomplishments have helped Americans and address her opponent's record on abortion issues. Later, Michigan State Senator Tom Barrett joins and shares why he believes economic issues are priorities for voters in the midterms. On Thursday, UK Prime Minister Liz Truss stepped down from her position as leader of the Conservative Party. Truss' six-week tenure was marred by high energy prices enraging the people of England and her inability to deliver on certain economic promises. FOX News Sunday Host Shannon Bream joins the Rundown to explain how economic turmoil is impacting leaders both abroad and domestically as President Biden battles high oil costs. She also discusses how the issues of inflation and abortion could impact midterm results, and why the Utah Senate race is gaining so much attention. And---don't miss the good news with Tonya J.
