It's another episode of Trve. Crvp. Pop!, coming out on a weird day, to search for the very worst music ever made.On this weeks episode, we look back at the mercifully short but incredibly awful career of Barnet's finest; girlband Vanilla and their hit song No Way No Way from December 1997.In the aftermath of the success of the Spice Girls, loads of girlbands started popping up all over the UK music charts. You remember them don't you; All Saints, Atomic Kitten, B*witched, Honeyz, all that.None though were quite as bad as Vanilla, seemingly unable to sing, dance, write songs or dress well, they immediately became a joke everywhere from ITV's Chart Show to The Big Breakfast. We go through the entirety of their career... two singles basically, particularly focusing on their debut song No Way No Way and it's incredible video.

Pojken som kan flyga. Ön där ingen blir vuxen. Äventyret som aldrig tar slut. Men i J.M.

Town's unbeaten start to 2026 continues and the guys return to catch up on back to back league and cup wins at Blundell Park. The panel dissect the heard earnt 3-2 FA Cup win over a determined Weston Super Mare side and the resulting 4th Round draw against another Premier League opponent. And then they turn their attentions to the 1-0 win over Barnet, their 4th unbeaten in the league and their 4th consecutive clean sheet, but it wouldn't be the EFL without another controversial refereeing decision to debate. The conversation then inevitably drifts to the January transfer window and the business David Artell has done thus far, with 3 loan incomings and 1 outgoing to discuss, most notably the return of former Mariner and experienced talisman, Andy Cook. Hosted on Acast. How To Be A Friend (In An Unfriendly World) with Barnet BainWhat does it really mean to be a friend not just to others, but to yourself and to life itself? In this deeply human episode of the Sacred Changemakers Podcast, I'm joined by Barnet Bain, award-winning filmmaker, author, and teacher known for exploring themes of creativity, connection, and the human spirit. His film credits include What Dreams May Come, Homeless to Harvard, and Milton's Secret, based on the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. His new book, How to Be a Friend (in an Unfriendly World), offers a tender and practical guide to friendship as a living spiritual practice.Together, we explore why friendship is more than a social bond; it's a profound act of consciousness. Barnet invites us to look closely at the “bubbles” of belief and conditioning that shape our relationships, and to cultivate the courage to step beyond them. He shares what it means to become a “safe harbor” for others, how friendship differs from romantic or family love, and why being a friend to ourselves is the foundation for genuine connection. This conversation is both wise and intimate, weaving together stories from Barnet's creative journey, psychological insights from his Columbia University course, and timeless truths about belonging, vulnerability, and love. It's an episode that reminds us that friendship (when practiced with intention and attention) is a radical form of transformation.Key TakeawaysWhy genuine friendship begins with becoming a safe harbor for yourself and others. How to step outside “the bubble” of your own conditioning to see others more clearly. The difference between friendship, romantic love, and family bonds, and why all are needed. How small, conscious acts of friendship can transform your day and ripple through the world. Why “remembering the love” is the most essential practice of being human.Guest BioBarnet Bain is an award-winning filmmaker, author, and teacher known for his exploration of creativity, consciousness, and connection. "If a friend doesn't feel safe with you, you can forget the rest." True friendship begins with seeing past our own filters. Most people walk through life inside invisible "bubbles"—patterns of conditioning, beliefs, and echo chambers that shape how we perceive others. These bubbles make the world feel smaller, narrower, and more divided, especially when they harden into judgment or fear. Breaking through them requires awareness: noticing when we collapse into assumptions, when we make others invisible, and when we protect ourselves instead of opening up. Friendship asks for presence, safety, curiosity, and the willingness to grow. Barnet Bain shares how understanding our internal narratives can transform connection. Through vivid metaphors and reflective insight, Barnet explores why some friendships form instantly, how unconscious overlap creates comfort, and how intentional skill-building can open the door to meaningful relationships with people beyond our bubble. Barnet explains why safety, non-judgment, and conscious listening are the foundations of human connection. Barnet is an award-winning filmmaker, author, and educator whose work explores creativity and the human spirit. "You cannot be more of a friend to others than you are to yourself." What if friendship wasn't meant to be effortless, but to make you more alive? What if every relationship, especially the most challenging ones, was a portal into your own expansion? In this episode of Soul Talk, I sit down with Barnet Bain, award-winning filmmaker, spiritual teacher, and author of How to Be a Friend in an Unfriendly World, to explore the sacred, often overlooked art of friending. Barnet reveals a radical truth: Most of us think we're good friends, until the relationship becomes inconvenient. Until someone changes. Until life asks us to grow. Together we dive into the real work of authentic connection, why unconditional love is often a myth we hide behind, how our unspoken emotional contracts quietly sabotage intimacy, and why true friendship requires a willingness to be changed by one another. Barnet shares tender personal stories, including a powerful moment with his daughter that shattered his self-image and awakened him to the unconscious conditions he had placed on love. Through his wisdom, we explore how friendship becomes a spiritual practice, a living crucible where our wounds, triggers, and projections are not obstacles but invitations. Listen to this episode and learn how to friend yourself, friend your wounds, friend your inner weather, and finally, friend others from a place of truth, not need. What is your definition of a friend? Is unconditional love real, or a myth? Can we truly be friends with someone who is in a different "bandwidth"? How do we maintain friendships in a politically divided and polarized world? What does it look like to "friend yourself"? In This Episode, You Will Learn: How to recognize the hidden contracts and expectations you bring into relationships How to practice emotional maturity and presence in friendships How to build friendships based on equality, depth, and spiritual peer-ship How to navigate friendships across political or ideological differences How to cultivate long-term, intimate partnerships that grow with you Simple daily practices to help let go of friendships that have naturally dissolved How to start building connections even if you feel alone or disconnected LINKS BARNET BAIN'S URL: https://barnetbain.com Get in Touch: Email me at kuteblackson@kuteblackson.com Visit my website: www.kuteblackson.com Resources with Kute Blackson: Kute's Life-changing Path to Abundance & Miracles: https://www.8levelsofgratitude.com Free masterclass: Learn The Manifestation secret to Remove Mental Blocks & Invisible Barriers to Attract The Life of Abundance You Desire. Join hosts Jason Christian, Tony Ballas, and Paul T. Klein for a broad-ranging conversation about the film and the politics of form and style. Throughout, we consider: The challenges of context-dependent domestic filmmaking and international spectatorship How film narrative and aesthetic modes like Socialist Realism participate in the construction of national myths, imaginaries, and ideologies Barnet's dynamic use of framing, blocking, color, and light to advance Poet's plot and politics _____________________ We love to give book or film recommendations on the podcast, so here are ours for this episode: Paul recommends A History of Russian Cinema by Birgit Beumers. Tony recommends, The Common Wind: Afro-American Currents in the Age of Haitian Revolution by Julius S. Scott. Tony emphatically does not recommend Literature and Revolution by Leon Trotsky. In 1471 London as a city came under a three pronged attack- well armed and well trained soldiers assailed London Bridge, Bishopsgate in the West End and Aldgate in the East End, while artillery showed shells from Southwark into London itself… one of the most overlooked moments of the cities history, coming as it did only a few weeks after a massive battle just north of the city in Barnet. The Story of London details one of the more exciting moments in its history with a detailed account of those mad few weeks.
