The Manchester Football Social podcast is a fantastic listen for any soccer fan, providing in-depth analysis and discussions about the Premier League. As a new soccer fan from Michigan, I was delighted to find a podcast that breaks down each team without too much bias. The hosts Niall, Joel, and Marley do an excellent job of providing insightful views and opinions on the league while keeping it entertaining and easy to listen to. It feels like being at the pub with your mates, discussing the latest happenings in football.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to provide comprehensive coverage of all things Premier League. Living in Germany, it can be challenging to stay up to date with the latest news and matches. The Manchester Football Social podcast fills that void by providing daily episodes that cover a wide range of topics and keep fans like me informed about what's happening in English soccer. The hosts' insights are always thought-provoking, and they offer different perspectives as fans of various teams, making for engaging discussions.
While the podcast does an excellent job overall, one potential drawback is the occasional bias when reviewing games involving certain teams. As a Liverpool fan, I sometimes wish that United and City fans didn't review our matches due to their inherent bias towards their rival clubs. A more neutral perspective would be appreciated, especially during important games. However, I understand that the podcast aims to cater to fans of all teams in the league, so some bias is inevitable.
In conclusion, The Manchester Football Social podcast is an absolute gem for soccer fans who want daily updates on all things Premier League. The hosts bring their unique insights as passionate supporters while maintaining an entertaining and informative format. As someone living outside of England, this podcast has become my go-to source for staying connected with English football. Thank you, Niall, Joel, and Marley for consistently delivering great content!

Dust off the tuxedo, dry clean the ball gown. It's time to dish out the Football Social Daily awards for the season just gone! Niall and Marley nominate their manager and player of the season, as well as celebrate the best moments and signings from the past 10 months. There's also the one no one wants to win - flop of the season, which was keenly contested by a number of sub-par names. The season is over, the dust is settling and it's a busy podcast as Niall and Marley digest it all. Chelsea won the champions league shootout at the City Ground, although Gary Neville wasn't there to see it, as Levi Colwill's goal proved the difference to send the Blues into Europe's premier competition. Aston Villa missed out on a second consecutive appearance in the same competition though, as a controversial call in their game against Man United saw Morgan Rogers' goal chalked out. Is there a silver lining for the Villans though? Elsewhere, Spurs lost again, Newcastle rode their luck and we finally discuss the worst Europa League final ever that took place last week. Join us as we preview the final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season, with the 3 remaining Champions League spots up for grabs between Manchester City, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. With Chelsea and Forest facing each other, that game looks tantalising as both clubs clash to secure a Champions League berth - whilst the equation is simpler for Newcastle and Man City. Villa have had a great season, but they still need favours from elsewhere in a gripping race which has come down to the very last game! Wednesday night sees a massive game in Bilbao as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur contest the Europa League final. There is plenty on the line for both sides, as Spurs chase a first trophy for 17 years, whilst Manchester United need the prize of Champions League football after their worst ever Premier League campaign. But Tottenham's domestic form has seen questions arise over the future of gaffer Ange Postecoglou, despite the result in Spain, whilst Manchester United's short term future could hinge on winning or losing in the Basque Country. Manchester United are reportedly close to signing Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha this summer. Where and how does the Brazilian fit in to Ruben Amorim's plans ahead of a mammoth task at Old Trafford? United fan Joel finally rejoins us direct from Colombia to give his take on the news and his team's dismal Premier League season. Plus, we discuss whether the quality in the Premier League this season has dropped, or if teams are simply more competitive. For the first time in their 119-year existence, Crystal Palace can call themselves FA Cup winners after a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday. The Eagles were inspired by a heroic Dean Henderson performance after Eberechi Eze's goal gave them something to hang on to in the first half, and Man City couldn't break down the Palace door despite their efforts. Elsewhere, Goodison Park hosted its final game before Everton move to "Hill Dickinson Stadium" - something that irked Niall in today's Get In The Sea nominations. The Toffees eased past miserable Southampton to mark the occasion with three points on a day where 100 former players were invited to say their goodbyes. Also over the weekend there was ups and downs in the race for the European places. Arsenal secured second while simultaneously making Newcastle's fate go down to the final day, Aston Villa and Forest earned vital points too, but Brentford threw away a lead to lose to Fulham in a local derby, all but ending their hopes of a Conference League place. Crystal Palace take on Manchester City on Saturday in arguably the biggest game in their history. In 119 years of existence, Palace haven't managed to win anything more than a second division title, and are up against Pep Guardiola's Citizens, who are hoping to salvage something from a poor season by their standards. Niall and Marley discuss whether this means more to Palace than it does to City, whether the Eagles have the right manager and squad in place to pull off the shock, and whether City have still had a poor season if they win the jug. Sean Dyche has been in the media saying that he could have had a greater impact on the Manchester United squad than Ruben Amorim has in his time at the club. Does he have a point, or is it wishful thinking from the former Burnley and Everton boss? Elsewhere, Newcastle United have announced plans to change the club badge which has been in state for almost 40 years. Is it something that's a priority for the club's new era? Evangelos Marinakis is still making headlines as Nottingham Forest released a statement on social media about the seriousness of Taiwo Awoniyi's injury suffered at the weekend. But does it provide a suitable reason for him storming the pitch after the 2-2 draw with Leicester? Elsewhere, Everton are allowing Goodison Park to keep hosting football. The club have confirmed their women's team is set to play their games at the iconic ground, but is the news as good as it seems? And finally, Manchester United have revealed that they won't host a trophy parade if they win the Europa League. Instead, a low-key barbecue at the training ground will be held as Jim Ratcliffe continues to penny pinch. All that and more discussed on today's FSD! Angelos Marinakis made himself the centre of attention on an action packed weekend of Premier League action, storming onto the pitch at Nottingham Forest's City Ground after late drama saw Nuno Espirito Santo's side drop points against Leicester. Elsewhere, Southampton finally got past Derby County's miserable record of 11 points by drawing against Manchester City, but did the scenes from the club go too far? In other news, Newcastle beat Chelsea to all but secure Champions League football, Arsenal and Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw and there was more misery for Spurs and Man United as they lost again. A large chunk of the Premier League now has either new or redeveloped stadiums, and Everton are soon to join that list. Arsenal are out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, losing 3-1 on aggregate to PSG. Arsenal travel to Paris to take on PSG in the other semi-final, a goal behind from the first leg. Is this crunch time for Mikel Arteta? Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed he is to leave Liverpool this summer. But despite being an academy graduate who has won both the Champions League and the Premier League at Anfield, Liverpool fans are furious at his departure. It was a busy weekend of football as Liverpool finally wrapped up the top flight title thanks to a crushing 5-1 win over Spurs at Anfield. Arne Slot's men are now tied with Manchester United on 20 top flight English titles as the rivalry continues. One of English football's most iconic occasions is almost here, but can Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace or Aston Villa make history on FA Cup semi-final weekend? Wembley plays host to our final four, of which 3 are looking to do something Man City are very familiar with, and that's make a major final. Can Palace win their first FA Cup ever? Can Forest complete a dream season? Can Emery bring Villa glory again? Or will City do what they always do? Niall and Marley look to answer those questions on this episode of FSD. FSD is back after the Easter break and there's a lot to discuss, with two new (or should that be old) names securing their top flight status for next season, as Burnley and Leeds secured promotion over the weekend. Elsewhere, Manchester City recorded a huge last-gasp win over Aston Villa on Tuesday night, thanks to the much-maligned Matheus Nunes' 94th minute winner. Will they finish in the Champions League places after a bizarre season? Mikel Arteta recorded what was possibly his biggest win as Arsenal manager last night as the Gunners beat Real Madrid on their own patch to reach the Champions League semi-finals, where PSG await. Elsewhere, Newcastle United's fine form continued as they battered Crystal Palace at home to go third in the Premier League. Can they go one step further and finish as runners up this season?! And finally, tonight sees Manchester United and Tottenham's seasons go on the line again as they face Europa League second legs, with Eintracht Frankfurt and Lyon out to pile more pressure on Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou. Declan Rice turned into a set-piece master to score two fantastic free kicks as Arsenal dispatched Real Madrid 3-0 at the Emirates to take a huge step towards the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday night. Mikel Merino also got on the scoresheet for the Gunners as Mikel Arteta looks to salvage something from a disappointing season. Elsewhere there was contrasting fortunes for Aston Villa, who succumbed to a powerful PSG side in the French capital. Morgan Rogers' goal gave the Villans hope, but sensational strikes from Desire Doue, Kvicha Kvaratshkelia and Nuno Mendes inspired the Parisians to the win. An action-packed Premier League weekend threw up plenty of talking points, but very few of those came in what has been described as the most boring Manchester Derby in years. Kevin de Bruyne's final Old Trafford test for City ended in a 0-0 bore draw with United, whilst Liverpool's defeat to Fulham - just their second of the season - couldn't be pounced on by Arsenal. The latest instalment of the Merseyside derby didn't fail to entertain as James Tarkowski escaped a red card before Diogo Jota settled proceedings with the only goal of the game to move the Reds closer to the Premier League title. Arsenal won on Tuesday night to momentarily pressure Arne Slot's side, but it wasn't enough to cause the Slot machine to malfunction. Elsewhere, a Sandro Tonali unintentional screamer earned Newcastle a win over Brentford, leaving the Geordies in charge of the race for the top four, having played a game less than 4th placed Man City. And finally, Southampton moved within a point of finally matching Derby County's humiliating 11-point haul with a draw at home to Crystal Palace. Niall and Marley are back and so is the Premier League! Domestic action has been missed but there's midweek action as we look towards the run-in, with 10 games to go. Man City's chances at finishing in the top four have been dealt a blow by the news that Erling Haaland is out for up to seven weeks, keeping the Norwegian out until around the time of the FA Cup final. Liverpool earned a narrow victory in Europe last night as Harvey Elliot's late goal proved enough to see off PSG in the French capital, but it was the Reds goalkeeper who earned the plaudits. Mikel Arteta's Gunners finally found some form in front of goal as they put seven past PSV in the Champions League last night, leaving them firm favourites to go through to the quarter final stage. The last eight also looks likely for Aston Villa, who battled to a 3-1 win over Club Brugge in Belgium last night, thanks to super-sub Marco Asensio and an unbelievable goal line clearance from Tyrone Mings. Elsewhere, Liverpool take on PSG in the Champions League tonight looking to make it three from three for the Premier League sides. In domestic news, there are calls for Millwall's goalkeeper to be given an extended ban for his incident with Jean-Philippe Mateta, after their clash at the weekend resulted in the Frenchman needing 25 stitches to save his ear. The last eight of the FA Cup has been decided after a dramatic weekend of fixtures which saw Man United and Ipswich eliminated on penalties and Newcastle knocked out thanks in part to Anthony Gordon's moment of madness. Meanwhile in the Premier League, Liverpool were held to a point at Villa Park in a superb game under the lights. His work rate was also questioned by manager Arne Slot, who seems to be growing frustrated with the Uruguayan striker.
