Welcome back to Episode 2 of "It's Not That Weird". HUGE thank you to everyone who supported Episode 1 by listening & sharing. In this episode, Tori sits down with the legend herself, her MOM! Her name's SUE BEGER, but she's well known as Mama Sue around here. Tori learns some interesting stuff herself, as they discuss everything from being raised by a single mother, losing a parent in one of the worst ways possible, and what it's like raising an early morning radio host (SPOILER: it's not all laughs and sunshine). IMPORTANT NOTE: The subject of suicide is discussed in this episode. This week's featured artist: Bethany D'Alimonte! Song 1: "Heartbeat" Song 2: "Make It Feel That Way" Follow Bethany on Instagram: @bethanydalimontemusic
Sometimes people ask, "Why do you give two full days of broadcasting to the Cares for Kids Radiothon?" The answer is simple. We believe in the programs that the radiothon funds. Programs like this. The audio included in this podcast was given to the parents of a terminally ill child. The heartbeat is mixed into a lullaby. This is why we ask for your generosity. Programs like this exist because of YOUR kindness. You are a part of this family's story. Thank you. Thank you from everyone at KFGO. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Welcome to part 2 of my 4 part series with The Chattahoochies. This week I'm chatting with Audra Mae. She's incredible. I've been a fan of hers for over a decade now and it gives me so much pleasure to learn more about her and share her story with all of you. Just some details about Audra. She's released three albums and an EP. She's been a guest vocalist on tracks from Avicii, Flo Rida and The All American Reject. And she's written some smash hits for artists like Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion and Susan Doyle. We talk a bit about Susan in this conversation. Thanks for listening. If you missed part 1 of my series with The Chattahoochies, check out episode 67 with Nelly Joy. Up next is part 3 with Summer Overstreet. Great things coming your way on the Adult Education podcast. **In the intro of the podcast I say that she wrote HeartBREAK Song for Kelly Clarkson. It's actually called HeartBEAT Song. My fault!**

To kick off the new year, we are featuring an interview with Grammy nominated songwriter, producer, publisher, author and entrepreneur Kara DioGuardi! You know Kara from songs like “Sober” for P!nk, "UnDo It" for Carrie Underwood, "Heartbeat Song" for Kelly Clarkson, "Rich Girl" for Gwen Stefani and more. She was a judge on seasons 8 and 9 of "American Idol" and has mentored artists like Charlie Puth, Jason Derulo and Jon Bellion who is a phenomenal writer at her publishing company Arthouse Entertainment. She is the co-founder of Inspired Nation, a non-profit organization that aims to build a bridge between the talent and dreams of our youth and their hope for a better, more inspired world. And she even co-owns a restaurant in the northeast called, Walkers Maine. What you’ll pick up on quickly in this episode is that Kara loves collaboration, mentoring and giving young talent the resources grow and continue learning. She shares why feedback and advice is meant to create habit in work ethic and why we should always look for other opportunities to become versatile in our craft. Kara and I talk about it all in her new space in the Wedgehood Houston neighborhood in Nashville called Trimble House. NSAI has hosted a few events there and it is stunning – the interior design was all brought to life by Kara herself and it was fun getting the chance to visit her while she was in town. Before we get to our coffee break with Kara, be sure to check out her website karadioguardi.com for information on her discography, Inspired Nation, Arthouse Entertainment, Trimble House and Walkers Maine.
Wenn man genau hinhört, könnte man denken, Kelly Clarkson war ordentlich mit ihre Freunden feiern. Nur wer fährt jetzt?!

It's recently come to my attention that a certain group of my friends didn't feel that they could play many of my recent podcasts in certain house party and mixed birthday situations because they've been too circuit-esque in the first hour or so. Moreover, I've wanted to make a pop podcast for a while now. Hence — Pop Muzik! — a 1-hour one-off 'cast for friends and family filled with radio edits and vocals… a podcast that gramma can listen to as well (if gramma's into Sia and Selena radio edits!) Perfect for the background of your next birthday soiree. Oh and that new deep house podcast is still on its way! I'm so excited about the bookings that I'm starting to line up for the spring and summer. I continue to feel so much love from the city of New Orleans, where I'll be headlining the Saturday night of their Pride weekend in June at the legendary Oz nightclub, along with Halloween night alongside the incomparably talented Joe Gauthreaux. And a dream come true -- this August I'll be playing the Crown & Anchor in Provincetown for the first time ever.... a place that's truly become my spiritual second home over the past 15 years. In the meantime, please enjoy this guilty pleasure of sugary pop confection. I almost titled this latest Podcast "Brrrr, it's cold in here…." in honor of my east coast brethren, but let's face it: it's really not that cold in LA… like, ever. I'm back from my whirlwind tour of ski resorts – I've been on the road for the past 5 weekends from Aspen to Park City to Whistler to Tahoe – and I finally had some time to get my latest Podcast recorded. It's definitely my most circuit sounding 'cast to date, although it ends with a classic house sound that I love so much. I'll have another Podcast (that I'm very excited about!) coming out within the next two weeks – my 3rd deep house venture, "Deep Winter Soul, Part 2." In the meantime, skip… run…snowboard… dance to… and enjoy this bad boy. I'll be back in Vegas at Share Nightclub on Friday for this long upcoming President's Day weekend.
