The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), in conjunction with their partners Data Edge, Timing Solutions and HEAnet, are hosting Ireland's inaugural Time & Sync Forum today, 11th Feb 2025, in Santry, Dublin. The event is bringing together a number of leading authorities in timing and synchronisation from Ireland, the UK and the European Commission to discuss key topics and policies relating to critical infrastructure on the island of Ireland. Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies play a crucial role in modern economies, and enable over 10% of Europe's annual GDP, or more than €14 trillion*. Major industries such as communications, energy, transportation, public services and financial services are increasingly reliant on precise timing and timing distribution to deliver their services. Commenting on the event, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke TD said, "Position, Navigation and Timing technologies are a core part of the work of a number of industries that are cornerstones of the Irish economy. Earlier this year, the Programme for Government committed to delivering a strong enterprise and fiscal framework to support competitiveness and the growth of a strong industrial base which has created jobs, grown exports, promoted innovation, and raised our standard of living. I warmly welcome this event, focussed on building on the launch of the National Timing Grid, and its role in advancing Ireland's domestic capabilities to support industry." Following on from the successful launch of Ireland's first National Timing Grid in 2023, the NSAI is hosting the Forum to promote the continuing need for Ireland to have as much control over its timing infrastructure as possible, including the potential replacement of Greenwich Mean Time with a domestic equivalent. Keynote speakers include Dr. Leon Lobo, Head of the National Timing Centre (NTC) programme at Britain's National Physical Laboratory, who is delivering its national timing strategy. Dr. Lukasz Bonenberg, Space Programmes Policy and Scientific Officer, Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission, will also provide his expertise having worked on Galileo, the EU's Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Between them, Drs. Lobo and Bonenberg will provide an important overview of PNT resiliency across Europe. Along with Data Edge, Timing Solutions and HEAnet, NSAI are currently working on enhancing Ireland's PNT capabilities through the National Timing Grid and the distribution of verified global GNSS data to support compliance with the upcoming EU NIS2 Directive. This update to the EU's original Network and Information Security (NIS) Directive significantly expands cybersecurity obligations for critical infrastructure sectors. NSAI's National Metrology Laboratory (NML), based in Glasnevin, maintains the reference measurement standards for Time & Frequency and contribute their atomic clock data to the International Bureau for Weights and Measures (BIPM) who maintain and calculate Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Whilst Legal Time in Ireland is under the remit of the Department of Justice, the internationally accepted representation of the second in Ireland is maintained by the NSAI's NML. David Fleming, National Standards Authority of Ireland, Technical Manager for Time, said, "We expect this important gathering to provide valuable insights which help us to inform policy development at a Governmental level and outline the requirements for investment in key timing infrastructure for the country. In a time of disruption and major technological advancements, Ireland needs to be as self-sufficient in this area as possible, while also aligning fully with our international counterparts." "With this event, we are aiming to draw in and engage as many interested stakeholders as possible to determine the requirements across the diverse sectors dependent upon precise timing." Who knew finding a golf club at our table could spark such an amusing journey through our latest episode of "Try That in a Small Town"? We kick things off with some lighthearted banter about over-preparing, giant bongs, and the NSAI awards, where our song was honored among the "10 Songs I Wish I'd Written." Performing for the first time at the historic Ryman Auditorium was nothing short of humbling, especially with our peers recognizing our work despite its political nuances. The acoustic set, performed with minimal resources and technical support, provided plenty of laughs and challenges, but also highlighted our gratitude for our backstage teams. The episode takes a turn as we pay tribute to the legendary Chris Christopherson, whose influence on our music is undeniable. We share personal reflections on his legacy and celebrate his masterpieces like "Sunday Morning Coming Down." Navigating the unpredictable nature of live performances, we recount tales of stage lighting mishaps and overcoming personal challenges like partial vision impairment. These stories reveal the resilience and adaptability needed on stage while also showcasing the lighter side of our performances.Dedication to our fans is at the heart of this episode as we give a shout-out to our super fan Ed and address feedback from a more critical listener. We cherish every comment, whether glowing or less enthusiastic, and invite all listeners to engage with us. Wrapping things up with a humorous discussion about an unusual golf club gift, we emphasize the importance of audience interaction and encourage you to subscribe and explore our merchandise.

I'm so excited to have my good buddy Brian White on this week's episode of the Stories Behind the Songs podcast! Brian White's career in music has spanned over many decades and many genres - he got his start in Christian and gospel music and toured for about 15 years doing that. He eventually fell in love with the storytelling of country music and has become a true legend here in Music City. Brian not only has plenty of hits to his name, but he's written more than a few country classics as well. Some of my personal favorite cuts of his that we cover in this episode are “Watching You” released by Rodney Atkins, “Blame It On You” by Jason Aldean and “Roll On Mississippi” by Charley Pride. He also has cuts with Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, and Gary Allan and Christian cuts like “Holding Out Hope To You” released by Michael English and “The Promise” by The Martins. In this episode, Brian and I also talk about the difference between CCM and country songwriting, starting out as a youth pastor following God's calling for his life, and, as usual, the stories behind the songs! I've wanted to have Brian on the podcast for a longtime - in a lot of ways, he is a big reason that The Listening Room is where it is today. He was the one who organized the fundraiser in the early days when we were struggling that was a turning point for us and in turn also played a role in inspiring our "Sound Good. Do Good." program that gives back to non-profits every month. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to share it with your friends and give us a follow. It's our mission to share the Stories Behind the Songs and highlight the songwriters behind the stories, and it's because of listeners like YOU that we are able to do it. As one of the leading forums for data and digital discussion, the summit brought together international experts, policy leaders, practitioners and researchers over three days to shape the digital agenda on innovation and research. This roadmap aims to foster responsible governance of data and artificial intelligence, leveraging data value as the basis of a sustainable information-enabled and data-informed society. The roadmap will support fair and responsible value sharing from data across society and the development of data capabilities on a national, organisational and individual level, the alignment of data initiatives and standards, and the development and promotion of data literacy. The roadmap will contribute to benefits that span organisations, individuals and wider society in a fair, responsible and human-centred way, that empowers users to share and use data while ensuring the protection of data and privacy concerns. Data and data governance are the lifeblood of the AI revolution, driving innovation and sustainability. Innovative data governance is the enabler, providing the necessary foundation, guidelines and infrastructures to harness the power of data responsibly, ethically and effectively. Speaking on the initiative, Minister Seán Fleming said: "I am proud to launch and strongly support this Data Governance Roadmap for Ireland. It represents a clear vision for responsible governance of data and artificial intelligence, laying the foundation for a sustainable, data-informed society driven by research and innovation." Professor Eeva Leinonen, President of Maynooth University, highlighted the power of collaboration, stating: "This initiative highlights how important universities are in shaping our digital future through research, education, and partnerships. The roadmap sets a new standard for handling data responsibly, and showcases Maynooth University's commitment to Ireland's digital leadership." Professor Markus Helfert, Director of the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) at Maynooth University, emphasised the significance of the initiative, stating: "The Data Governance Roadmap for Ireland is not just a strategic necessity but a critical step towards a future where data serves as a cornerstone for national development and prosperity, supporting technological advancements while safeguarding the rights of data owners and data sharers." Developed in collaboration with experts in data governance, NSAI and members of the EMPOWER team across participating SFI Research Centres, the roadmap adopts a unique three-tiered approach, encapsulating individual, organisational, and national perspectives. It addresses the critical need for robust data governance structures while fostering an environment conducive to innovation and economic growth. Aligned with EU Digital Decade policy targets and several other critical EU initiatives such as the Data Governance Act, Data Act and AI Act the initiative aims to bridge skills gaps and develop new competencies to tackle growing challenges across various sectors, including sustainability, security, and education. The roadmap reflects Ireland's commitment to maintaining leadership in information, data and digital innovation, setting highest standards for governance, promoting transparency, and ensuring equitable distribution of digital benefits that digital and data creates. It sets new benchmarks for success aligned to Ireland's ambition to lead and set standards in Europe, inspiring other nations to follow suit. Jenn Schott joins us today on the Listening Room stage for this week's episode of Stories Behind the Songs! Jenn is a true TLR OG, she's been playing our stage since the Franklin and 2nd Avenue days. She's a seasoned songwriter here in Nashville, and it was so cool to hear more about her journey to where she is now and her many incredible accomplishments - cuts with Tim McGraw and Mickey Guyton, playing the Ryman stage, and a placement on NSAI's “Top 10 Songs I Wish I'd Written” list, to name a few. She recently got a cut on Rascal Flatts' most recent album release, How They Remember You, with “Feel It In The Morning.” It was awesome to hear how Jenn went from handing out resumes on Music Row to being the VP on the board of NSAI. In this episode, she offers up some excellent advice for aspiring songwriters that was passed down from one of her journalism professors at Mizzou. Here's the takeaway - don't wait to make the move to Nashville; follow your gut and do it now. Pantheon Resources Executive Chairman David Hobbs and Technical Director Bob Rosenthal joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the results of the updated Independent Expert Report by Netherland Sewell & Associates (NSAI) concerning approximately 43,000 acres of leases on the 100% owned Kodiak Field on the North Slope of Alaska, acquired by the company in December 2023. According to the report, NSAI's best estimates of Kodiak's contingent recoverable resources amount to 1.2 billion barrels of marketable liquids and 5.4 trillion cubic feet of gas. This represents a 25% increase in recoverable marketable liquids compared to NSAI's previous 2023 report. Kodiak is identified as a large basin floor fan accumulation with three well penetrations, and recent drilling activity and acreage acquisition strategy have focused on moving structurally higher into better reservoir rocks, improving porosity and permeability. The potential improvement in reservoir quality in the newly acquired acreage underpins a 40% increase in the high estimate of recoverable resources to 2,840 million barrels of marketable liquids and 11.75 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The Kodiak oil and gas field is currently Pantheon's largest project development candidate, defined by three well penetrations into the Basin Floor Fan structure, which extends over 10 miles from the deepest part of the fan to the 2021 updip Theta West-1 appraisal well. The recent successful lease bids secure the remainder of the accumulation to the northwest and add a significant volume of recoverable oil and gas to the Kodiak field. Pantheon has delineated the full extent of the field through its proprietary 3D seismic, with seismic attributes indicating the presence of light oil across the entirety of the field. #proactiveinvestors #pantheonresourcesplc #mining #lse #panr #pthrf #FundingNews #AssetExpansion #OilandGasIndustry #CEOInterview #EnergyInvestments #ResourceExploration #DynamicModeling #ShelfMarginDeltaic #KodiakProject, #EnergyExploration, #OilAndGas, #EnergySector, #NaturalResources, #MarketAnalysis, #InvestmentOpportunity, #SustainableEnergy, #ResourceManagement, #TechInnovation, #GasExploration, #OilFields, #AlaskaEnergy, #InvestorInsights, #EnergyProduction, #CorporateStrategy, #EnergyEconomics, #ReservoirEngineering, #EnvironmentalStewardship, #StrategicPartnerships, #EnergyDevelopment, #ProjectValidation, #EnergyIndustry, #DevelopmentDrilling #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The Talk of Fame Podcast got to chat with Izzy Potter who is a singer/songwriter currently based in Nashville, TN with roots in New York. She is an independent artist with universally relatable, poignant, and often personal lyrics. Her first self released EP “Place Called Home” has her most requested high energy single “Juniper” to play live. Izzy's lyrics have depth and insight that is both playful and intriguing, and has been remarked as “spot on” for such a young talent. Her storytelling is invoked with the spirit of acoustic pop/folk style sounds. Her storytelling style is often compared to artists like Taylor Swift, Julia Michaels, Noah Kahn, Fleetwood Mac, and Phoebe Bridgers. She has been songwriting since she was 12 years old and was recognized by NSAI songwriting evaluators as “One to Watch.” In New York, Izzy can be found anywhere around town playing with local bands--such as her Bowery Ballroom NYC debut alongside Long Islands indie-rock band Arcy Drive--playing local venues, bars, restaurants, festivals including the Huntington Paramount Stage, Arlene's Grocery, and various Breaking Sound events. “A friend convinced me to attend the Frank Brown Songwriters festival” explains Reid. “I got to see how songwriters were really doing it! Straight out of Nashville and wiping the stage with talent.” She was inspired, and her composition won the coveted first place prize from the NSAI. Following the release of Drive, Reid and her husband relocated to Austin, TX. Inspired by the sights, sounds, and culture she wrote up a storm, and the record Big Girl Pants was born. Then the pandemic struck, and the world ground to a halt. Now, three years down the line, Reid is ready to share more of her trademark sunshine with the world. “Gimme A Cowboy speaks honestly about growth and overcoming adversity” tells Reid. “We need to try and keep an upbeat voice in a world that feels divided. Music is a global language that speaks through barriers, and I want to spread the love and help people feel something good and uplifting!”
Reid is a whirlwind of contagious positivity. Whether dipping her melodic toes in Americana, funk-tinged soul, or red-dirt country, Reid never fails to deliver soaring, sun-kissed vocals and beautifully honest emotion. Building her compositions on a frame of shining pop melody, her music is eminently engaging. In high school, under the tutelage of Minnesota choral legend Dr. Erik “Doc” Christiansen (grandson of the great F. Melius Christiansen) Reid was taught to embrace challenging pieces – and did eventually learn to read and write music. Graduation brought with it the gift of a guitar, and with it a passion for pop. College life mingled perfectly with some avant musical acts, but it wasn't until a little further down the road of life that Reid was given a sign that perhaps it was time for music to take center stage. “A friend convinced me to attend the Frank Brown Songwriters festival” explains Reid. “I got to see how songwriters were really doing it! WISCONSIN MUSIC PODCAST AMPLIFYING WISCONSIN MUSICIANS EPISODE 87 KIRSTIE KRAUS https://www.kirstiekraus.com/ Kirstie Kraus carries her thirst in her songwriting, in her live shows, and in her everyday connection with other kindred spirits. Nowhere is her appetite more quenched than on a stage in front of her fans, appropriately named “Thirsties”. Her confidence naturally shines under the bright lights, taking concert goers on a well-defined path of self-discovery and bliss. Her writing infuses her own transparent journey with others' experiences to create sustainable lyrics and catchy melodies. The result is a perfect blend of country, funk, blues, and rock because with Kirstie, there are no boundaries. There's only the process of “letting go” and letting the song tell you what it wants to be. It will also tell you WHERE it wants to be and for an intuitive deep thinker like Kirstie, that place is Nashville. Three years ago, the Wisconsin native made the move to Music City and having heavily toured the summer before with her Midwest band, Thirsty Jones, Kirstie made the decision to really focus on honing her craft in town. She immediately began demoing out songs for her upcoming full length record and playing established Nashville venues, like the Listening Room Café and the Bluebird. She also leaned into the production side of her album, gaining great insight from her then producer about arrangements, vocal styling, and mixing. Her first Nashville based single, “Delusional” (2018) fancies a sassy 80s funk groove while 2019's “Gotta Do” pulls in early 2000s Shania vibes. “Silver”, her July 2020 release, possesses the licks of Joan Jett and attitude of Avril Lavigne, proving that she's not a one lane roadmap. In fact, the roadmap has always been paved with perseverance and unwavering support of her close knit family back home. Her strong Catholic upbringing relayed the importance of a greater plan from early on. Growing up in an industrial, blue collar area instilled hard work, community involvement, and social interaction. The popular powerhouse vocals of Mariah, Celine, Gloria Estefan, and Amy Grant nudged the precocious six year old to declare that she too wanted to be a singer, in the form of a homework drawing. Her mother then enrolled her ambitious daughter into every opportunity and outlet she could find. By 12, she was writing songs and by the age of 15, she had picked up a guitar and joined NSAI, which meant frequent trips to Nashville for the next several years to be mentored by the best in the business. Kirstie did what most successful artists of longevity will tell you to do: she built her fan base and relationships back home AND in Nashville before making the big leap. https://www.kirstiekraus.com/ Wisconsin Music Podcast Link tree : linktr.ee/WI_Music_Podcast ZTF Studio: www.ztfStudio.com
To celebrate Taylor's recent honour at the NSAI awards where she was named Songwriter-Artist of the decade, we look back at a handful of songs throughout her career that suffered lyric changes. Thanks to demo recordings, handwritten draft lyrics and making of the song videos posted by Taylor herself we've been lucky enough to see how song lyrics have changed and evolved from their original forms to final studio versions. Some of them change so drastically that the entire tone of the song slightly shifts, for example Tim Mcgraw's original bridge, the many changes in Picture to Burn original version, the iconic ten minutes of All Too Well and of course, the infamous original Gorgeous lyrics we got to hear in reputation's making of a song series. We go through 13 of these interesting lyric changes spanning throughout all Taylor's eras and celebrate the evolution of her songwriting craft along the way.

Entertaining, loveable, lyricist and artist, Ella Hartt has been writing music since the age of 6. “My first song was a rap about our family dog. I hope no one ever asks me to play it live,” she laughs. Influenced by her family roots and radio hits, Ella switched genres to combine the catchy lyrics of pop tracks with country storytelling. Her first release, “Where is that guy?” gained international interest on internet radio across Canada, New Zealand and Europe while her second single,“Heartstrings” placed as a semi-finalist in the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. Ella has defined her personal writing style with unique titles, honest lyrics and quirky references, which made her one of NSAI's “One to Watch” for 5 consecutive months. Her reach has been global, having penned songs with other writers across Canada, Australia, South Korea and The United States, including some of country music's greatest, Liz Rose (Taylor Swift) and Larry McCoy (Thomas Rhett). After a pandemic long break, Ella is back with her new single, The Story You Tell Yourself. Recorded remotely in her pajamas, Ella shares an uplifting message reminding others to believe the best about themselves! As she puts it, “You're one of a kind like no one else. We had the pleasure of interviewing Nancy Deckant over Zoom video.Nancy Deckant, Founder and CEO of DiscoverSooner, the Nashville-based start-up and online platform for songwriters and publishers. In 2006, Nancy Deckant became the coordinator for the Pittsburgh chapter of NSAI and it set in motion a course she had no plan to take. She moved to Nashville in 2013 as a songwriter and by 2015 started publishing and providing songplugging for clients. It was during that transition she came to deeply understand the challenges songwriters, publishers face when it comes to growing their music careers and companies. Just like songs, sometimes things come in an instant and the idea of an online platform for songwriters and music industry professionals arrived in the same way. She visited with many songwriters and publishers who graciously gave their time to explore what Sooner could be and she leaped to begin a journey to help others.20 years of marketing and engineering experience prepared her for the world of start-ups. After graduating from the entrepreneurship program at Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business (MBA) in 1997 she launched a company while still in school. If that first high risk adventure would have worked, she wouldn't be where she is now. Nancy would not be a songwriter or a music publisher. Nancy prides herself on her abilities to connect people, give referrals and facilitate relationships. Communication is the key to establishing putting the right songwriters together to build relationships with publishers. DiscoverSooner.com was founded in 2019. Nashville Cool publisher Nancy Deckant had the idea for an online platform for the music industry. Songwriters post their music, career accomplishments, and key business criteria. Industry professionals “connect” when they want to have a conversation with songwriters. More information at https://www.discoversooner.com.We want to hear from you! Today's guest is one of country music's most renowned, talented and distinguished writers. From his early days of writing and drumming in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to being crowned Songwriter of the Century by ASCAP, he has indeed created for himself a monumental platform in the history of country music. As the writer of songs including Brooks and Dunn's “Believe” to Blake Shelton's “Boys ‘Round Here” to Morgan Wallen's “Chasin' You”, he has amassed over 350 cuts, 130 singles, and 29 #1's. After moving to Nashville in 1985 to pursue a career in songwriting, he received his first chart success after having co-written “The Only One” from Roy Orbison's album, Mystery Girl. In 1990, our guest signed his first publishing deal with Almo/Irving Music, and ten years later, he signed with BMG Music Publishing. I had an amazing conversation with country singer Emily Daniels about her new song My Last Name. She was inspired to write the song after changing her last name to honour her stepfather after she had cut ties with her biological father. She is extremely talented and the song absolutely hits home for anyone in the adult children of narcissistic parents community. I hope you enjoy our interview, and whether you like country music or not - listen to her song! It's absolutely amazing! The lyrics are so spot on and I am sure so many people will be able to relate to her profound words. Nashville native Emily Daniels has the charm of the girl next door, fashion sense of a personal stylist, and the determination of an entrepreneur. Her witty and honest lyrics are perfectly blended with heartfelt, pitch-perfect, and infectious melodies. It's a little Shania Twain sass with a dash of Maddie & Tae sweetness that will leave you humming all week long. Her music is as head-turning as her signature red outfits. A trained vocalist, Emily has studied with A-List Vocal Coach Renee Grant-Willams (Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill). She sites artists like Ben Rector & Tori Kelly as inspirations lyrically and melodically. She has been awarded high praise from CMT, Opry Radio, BMI, NSAI, and others. Emily is a regular featured artist / writer at Nashville staples including Listening Room, City Winery, The Original Tin Roof, Ole Red, Belcourt Taps, and Alley Taps. Emily has built strategic brand partnerships with Cracker Barrel, the Green Hills mall, local boutique Jondie, Le Grand Verre Wines and Molly Green. She also models for Nashville favorites like The Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Wildhorse Saloon, and Ole Red. Be sure to follow Emily for updates on new music, shows, and more! After running heavy equipment for several years, Phil Barnhart began writing and developing as a songwriter. In 1984, at 40 years old, he was encouraged to move to Nashville. Phil soon began working with Rex Allen Jr and was getting cuts on records. In 1989 Phil received his first Dove nomination for Country Gospel Song of the Year. He continued working hard at his craft and eventually wrote a song that Waylon Jennings recorded on a major label. In 1991, Phil signed with Tree International Publishing Company, which was later acquired by Sony Music. Phil co-wrote many hit songs including several number one's like, Shenandoah's, "I want to Be Loved Like That", Lonestar's, "No News" and Martina McBrides, "Broken Wing”. He had many album cuts on gold and platinum records. Later he garnered several other awards including BMI Performance Awards, ASCAP Song of the Year Award and nominations for Song of the Year by The Country Music Association and by The Academy of Country Music. He was also fortunate enough to have been given several awards from the NSAI, which meant a great deal to him because they were awards voted on by his peers. In 2010 BMI honored Phil with several BMI Million-Air Awards. Recorded by Lonestar, Phil's song “No News” has accumulated over 3 million performances, while both Martina McBride's “A Broken Wing” and Shenandoah's “I Want to Be Loved Like That” have amassed more than 2 million performances each. Currently, Phil spends most of his time in South Florida to be with his grandchildren and family. He enjoys writing short stories, playing golf and riding his bike in view of the ocean.
