This week on The FratChat Podcast, we're counting down the Best and Worst Straight Actors to Play LGBTQ Roles. Some performances were so authentic and compelling that audiences forgot they were watching an actor at all. Others aged about as well as a Blockbuster membership card. From acclaimed portrayals in films like Milk, Brokeback Mountain, and Capote to performances that sparked backlash, controversy, and endless eye rolls, we're ranking the actors who nailed it and the ones who completely missed the mark. Along the way, we tackle the bigger questions about authenticity, stereotypes, representation, and what separates a great performance from a caricature. Plus, we dive into Emails From the Listeners, break down the latest headlines in The News, and return with another installment of Not the Drag Queens, featuring the arrest of a Texas Republican precinct chair who was charged after investigators allegedly discovered a large amount of child sexual abuse material during a cyber-crime investigation. We also go off on several classic FratChat tangents, including Adam Sandler's wild movie phase, whether I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry has aged terribly, Christina Aguilera's acting in Burlesque, the enduring greatness of Stanley Tucci, and why some performances still hold up years after Hollywood changed the conversation around LGBTQ representation. It's comedy, controversy, movie debates, and just enough chaos to keep everyone uncomfortable. Got a question, comment or topic for us to cover? Let us know! Ready to take my strong hand? This week on The Commentary Booth, host Jamie Apps is joined by the horror-loving duo behind the Killer Cuts podcast — ‘The Natural' Astrid Pizarro and Bobby Munson — for an uproarious celebration of the 25th anniversary of Scary Movie 2!Released in 2001, the Wayans brothers' chaotic sequel follows four college students (including icons Cindy Campbell and Shorty) tricked into a weekend "experiment" at a haunted mansion. What ensues is a relentless parade of ghostly groping, possessed weed plants, projectile vomit, and one very memorable malformed hand. But does this rushed sequel hold up? Jamie, Astrid, and Bobby debate whether the film's sketch-comedy pacing is a feature or a bug, defend the legacy of The Exorcist parody, and cringe at the jokes that aged like milk (sorry, Ray). They also break down the film's dense web of horror references from The Haunting and Poltergeist to Hannibal, and reveal wild casting trivia involving Marlon Brando and Britney Spears.Highlights Breakdown: - Does Scary Movie 2 beat the original? (Spoiler: It's complicated) - The "Strong Hand" Debate: Why everyone quotes this iconic scene wrong. - Lost Casting: The truth about Marlon Brando, Bill Clinton, and Christina Aguilera almost appearing. - The Dated Jokes: Why the Nike commercial parody confuses international fans and why the "What's Up" bit still works. - Horror References: From The Exorcist (perfect) to Hollow Man (the cigarette scene). - Looking Ahead: 17 film references spotted in the Scary Movie 6 trailer. Finally, the trio looks ahead to the long-awaited Scary Movie 6. With material ranging from Terrifier to The Substance and Get Out, they debate what the new film needs to do to survive in 2026.This week's episode is brought to you byAustralian Wrestling CardsCheck out more great content from Pario Magazine on our website.-------------------------------------------------------------SUPPORT PARIO MAGAZINE & THE COMMENTARY BOOTH- PATREON- BUY MERCH- AMAZON PRIME VIDEO- TUBEBUDDY- Subscribe to AEW Plus using my code (q0yydoz) to earn $10 in FITE credit- Shop Online With Honey- Shop Online With SatechiMY EQUIPMENT- Elgato Facecam- Rode PodMic- Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP- Streamlabs Talk StudioFOLLOW JAMIE ON SOCIAL MEDIA- Twitter- Facebook- Instagram- TikTokFOLLOW PARIO MAGAZINE ON SOCIAL MEDIA- Twitter- Facebook- Instagram
On this wildly unfiltered episode of Undressed with Pol' and Patrik, we sit down with fan-favorite couple Mark Romain and Brett Hamby from The Amazing Race for one of the funniest, most emotional, and unexpectedly deep conversations we've had in a long time with two hot guys! From surviving the chaos of reality television to navigating love, honesty, identity, and career crossroads, this episode takes us everywhere. Brett reveals the terrifying childhood accident that left him with a broken femur after being hit by a car in Pacifica (Bay Area) and how gymnastics and acrobatics became part of his healing journey. Meanwhile, Mark spills all the tea about dancing for icons like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Kesha — plus the hilarious story of Pol' accidentally talking to Christina Aguilera for 45 minutes without realizing who she was at Adrienne Maloof's Halloween party. We dive into their unforgettable experience competing on The Amazing Race, including producer drama, getting pulled over during filming, losing money in Hong Kong, surviving five intense weeks together, and learning how pressure exposes every crack — and strength — in a relationship. The conversation turns deeply personal as Mark and Brett open up about honesty in relationships, why they refuse to lie to each other, and how communication ultimately became the secret to surviving life together. Things get extra outrageous when we discuss RuPaul's Drag Race, Pol's traumatic experience appearing in drag years ago, and the hysterical story of RuPaul getting denied entry into his own premiere party because no one recognized him out of drag. We also get into queer friendships, gay relationship stereotypes, open relationships, dating shows, and why gays can sometimes be “the bitchiest people alive.” Then comes the Armenian Coffee Reading… and things take a shocking turn. Pol' immediately identifies a major emotional split in Mark's life connected to his twin brother, authenticity, and years of suppressing who he really was before embracing his true self. The reading becomes incredibly emotional as Mark admits he spent years trying to force himself into a life that never fit him. Pol' then reveals that Mark is standing at the edge of a massive life shift and urges him to reconnect with the creative calling he abandoned long ago. Brett's reading goes even deeper, uncovering unresolved emotional wounds and a hidden sadness he has spent years covering with “band-aids.” The moment becomes hauntingly emotional when Brett quietly reveals the heart shape in his coffee cup reminds him of his late mother. Between hysterical one-liners, relationship confessions, reality TV secrets, and one of the most powerful coffee readings we've had yet, this episode is funny, raw, emotional, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. There are noteworthy changes in every decade of modern music, but the seismic shifts and chaos of the 1990s were unparalleled. Whether it was the music of your youth, your kids' youth, your parents' youth or even your grandparents' youth, most everyone has noticed (either at the time or now, in retrospect) that the '90s were just different. It was the decade that saw Generation X hand over the music reins to millennials. MTV went from a driving force in music to more of a footnote, and music videos lost importance in the gap years between emphasis on cable channels and the advent of YouTube and streaming in the 2000s. Stylistically, hip-hop was a juggernaut, swinging from gangsta rap to a mainstream phenomenon that permeated into R&B, pop and even rock. Also, fueled by the momentum of Madonna in the 1980s, pop in the 1990s became dominated by women artists - with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion taking turns at the top of the charts, and wholesome teen singers like Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, who ushered the genre into the 1990s, had been replaced by decidedly less wholesome singers like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera by decade's end. Latin artists also became permanent fixtures in the mainstream, and thanks to Garth Brooks, country reinvented itself into yet another huge crossover genre, with "hat acts" ruling the roost in the mainstream. And in rock music, huge shifts came in waves. The "hair metal" bands that controlled rock in the late 1980s were all but wiped out by grunge in the early 1990s, flipping the genre's script from mindless, flashy formula pop-with-guitars to something far more introspective, anxious and angry. But grunge was at the forefront for only a few year, and soon enough all manner of "modern rock," "alt-rock" and "college rock" bands - from Weezer to Radiohead to Beck - brought freshness and ingenuity to the sonic landscape. Meanwhile, the 1990s saw the rise of traveling mega-festivals such as Lollapalooza to the Vans Warped Tour. And the Lilith Fair emphasized the unprecedented prominence of women in rock, who came in hard with gritty sounds and raw self-assuredness beyond the jangly pop-rock of 1980s bands like The Go-Go's and The Bangles. This week on "How We Heard It," your hosts - who were young men in the 1990s and at Ground Zero in the music business - shine a light on what was going on in the tumultuous 1990s and how everything seemed to forever change, across the board, in music.

Between her time as the frontwoman for 4 Non Blondes, her legendary songwriting catalog (for Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys and more), her own solo career, and her outspoken activism, Linda Perry has already lived countless lives in the public eye. But the new documentary Linda Perry: Let It Die Here peels back brand-new layers to the musical firebrand, from being a mom to 9-year-old Rhodes to losing her own mother just after the singer/songwriter was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. In addition to the film -- which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and is now in select theaters -- Perry also released the album Let It Die Here on Friday, her first solo album in more than a decade. When Perry sat down with the Billboard Pop Shop Podcast in March, she explained that the film and album were both a bit unexpected, with the documentary emerging from director Dan Hardy asking if he could shadow her in the studio and the album sort of pouring out from there. Banksy built his reputation as an anonymous, anti-establishment street artist, spray-painting subversive stencils, dodging the law, and thumbing his nose at the art world elite. Pop fans, it's time to loosen up them buttons for a big fun nostalgic trip back to The Pussycat Dolls' world! We are revisiting the iconic 2005 debut album "PCD", which gave us a string of iconic hits, music videos and live performances that remain on high rotation 20+ years on! 'Don't Cha', 'Buttons', 'Beep', 'Stickwitu', 'I Don't Need A Man', 'Wait A Minute' - and more including the soundtrack gems like 'Sway'. We're getting into all of that!Plus, Joel and David take you into through the birth and evolution of The Pussycat Dolls - from a modern burlesque show conceptualised by Robin Antin in 1995, through to the celebrity guest performers in the early days (Carmen Electra, Christina Applegate, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani etc) and how they became a full-fledged world dominating pop group.Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton were introduced to us as a fun, confident girl gang we all wanted to be part of and aspired to be. From the sexy-meets-street fashion through to the powerful choreography and vocals; they inspired a whole generation of girl groups like KATSEYE and Little Mix. "PCD" featured collaborations with some of the pop R&B world's biggest hitmakers including Timbaland, will.i.am, Cee-Lo Green, Keri Hilson, Diane Warren, Kara Dioguardi, Rich Harrison and more. The Pussycat Dolls are back on tour this summer across North America before coming to the UK and Europe in Autumn for the "PCD Forever" tour! This week, Lex P. and Drea Nicole are back solo — no guest, just the girls — and somehow the conversation goes from unhinged to deep real quick. From wild bedroom stories to Lex finding out she might’ve saved somebody’s life just by screaming on the podcast (yes, for real), this episode is a perfect reminder that Pour Minds be doing more than just talking shit. The girls get into everything — internet debates about Christina Aguilera, growing up on early 2000s music, and why people are always trying to pit women against each other. They also have a real moment about aging, losing legends, and how scary it feels watching time move fast while realizing we’re getting older too. Of course, it wouldn’t be Pour Minds without a little chaos — from Vaseline debates to concert regrets, Justin Timberlake stories, and random tangents that somehow all make sense. But underneath all the laughs, there’s real talk about health, taking care of yourself, and appreciating life while you’re in it. Plus, the ladies sit down with Vanessa Bouie, founder of Fancy Homebody, for this week’s Business Spotlight — getting into how she turned an Instagram community into a multi-million dollar brand built on comfort, confidence, and everyday luxury. Pour up. It’s funny, it’s real, and it’s very much “we just talking.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode 100: Miguel Gandelman. This man is the Musical Director behind Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Show, one of the biggest and most complex live television performances in the world. Miguel Gandelman aka "Miga" is a Berklee graduate and longtime force in live TV and touring. He has worked with some of the biggest artists on the planet including Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Shakira, Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Jonat Brothers, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Babyface, John Mayer, Aretha Franklin, served as Music Director for The Masked Singer, and was a member of The Tonight Show Band with Rickey Minor. In this episode, he breaks down how the Super Bowl Halftime Show was built from the ground up in just one month. From getting the call to stepping onto the biggest stage in entertainment, we talk about how you prepare a 15 minute performance seen by over 100 million people. What goes into building a show at that level? What does music direction actually mean on a production of this scale? We discuss arranging for stadiums, working with an artist who had never used a musical director before, leading world class musicians, handling live TV pressure, and translating an artist's vision into a global moment. We also dive into his journey from growing up in a musical family in Brazil to becoming one of the most trusted Musical Directors in the industry, and the mindset required to operate at the highest level of live performance. If you have ever wondered how massive live shows and television actually come together, this conversation is a masterclass. What if the one word holding you back is the word you use the most? On this episode of Caught on the Mike, Mike sits down with Carla Ondrasik—bestselling author of STOP TRYING!, former Vice President of Creative Writer Development at EMI Music Publishing, and the creator of the powerful No Try philosophy. Carla spent over 20 years helping sell millions of records, working with legendary artists like Mariah Carey, Cher, NSYNC, and Christina Aguilera, and famously discovered John Ondrasik (Five for Fighting) by hearing him sing through a wall—and choosing to act. In this conversation, she breaks down how the word “try” quietly programs hesitation and excuses, why incomplete intentions drain mental energy, how replacing “try” with decisive action activates momentum, confidence, and dopamine, and why trying harder often leads to worse results. Most importantly, she shares simple, science-backed ways to turn intention into action and finally do the things we keep saying we'll try.
Interview Date: December 14th, 2025.In this episode of Business of Dance, Menina sits down with veteran performer and powerhouse industry staple Sarah Mitchell, who joins the conversation nine months pregnant and still glowing (literally). Sarah takes us back to her beginnings in Western Massachusetts—starting dance at two-and-a-half, falling in love with NYC after seeing the Rockettes at age nine, and boldly moving to New York City with limited money but unstoppable determination. From becoming a Patriots cheerleader in high school (and earning a Super Bowl ring) to landing the Knicks City Dancers through a Good Morning America public vote, Sarah breaks down how dance teams can be a career-launching network, training ground, and built-in community for dancers moving to major markets.Sarah shares a full-circle story that shaped her career: after moving to LA with no plan besides “I have to be here,” she booked American Gladiators—only for the dance cast to be cut. That “loss” led directly to her booking a Jell-O commercial, meeting Jerry Slaughter, and soon finding herself dancing with Christina Aguilera—the same artist she once watched from the audience dreaming of being on stage. From there, the episode dives into Sarah's long-running work with major artists and productions, including Christina Aguilera (spanning roughly 2007/2008 to 2024), Britney Spears' Vegas residency, Burlesque, and the realities of auditioning, touring, and navigating the emotional highs and lows of a freelance performance career—especially as life expands into marriage and motherhood.Shownotes:(0:00) – Welcome(7:01) – Full intro: Sarah Mitchell's career highlights(11:40) – Early beginnings: Western MA, Rockettes inspiration(12:30) – Patriots cheerleaders, Super Bowl ring, early confidence(13:17) – Knicks City Dancers + Good Morning America vote(17:01) – Cross-country move to LA, starting from scratch(20:26) – American Gladiators canceled → pivotal career shift(22:28) – Booking Christina Aguilera through Jerry Slaughter(30:15) – Burlesque stories: doubles, endurance, golden time(50:37) – Q&A wisdom: preparation, mindset, longevity, balanceBiography:A dancer and choreographer with over 20 years of experience, Mitchell has toured and performed with artists such as Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Pitbull and Dua Lipa. Sarah performed with Britney Spears in her Las Vegas residency “Piece of Me” for five years, and has appeared on numerous television and award shows including The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, American Housewife and Oprah. For the last decade, Sarah has worked with the NFL and choreographed for the NBA, including multiple NBA All Star Game performances. World renowned choreographer turned actor Darrin Henson joins us for a powerful, culture rich conversation about legacy, purpose, and the Latino influence that helped shape his life and career. Raised in the Bronx, Darrin opens up about growing up alongside Latinos in his neighborhood and how Latino culture, friendships, and community played a lasting and positive role in his upbringing. From early life lessons to lifelong connections, he reflects on the moments that stayed with him and continue to guide him today. Darrin shares behind the scenes stories from working with some of the biggest icons in music history, including Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, and the ultimate GOATs Michael Jackson and Prince. He also opens up about being first cousins with Taraji P. Henson and how talent, faith, and perseverance run deep in his family. One of the most jaw dropping moments of the interview is when Darrin reveals why he walked away from choreography at the height of his career, right after winning a VMA for *NSYNC’s iconic “Bye Bye Bye” routine, a dance he owns as his intellectual property. The very choreography later appeared in the film Deadpool, and for which the production had to properly compensate him for its use. Darrin also breaks down his transition into acting, starring in beloved series like Soul Food and The Family Business, along with his evolution into an author and motivational speaker focused on purpose, ownership, and spiritual alignment. This is a must listen conversation about culture, creativity, faith, and knowing when to pivot.

In this episode, Dr. Anthony Youn dives into the glow-ups everyone is talking about — from Lindsay Lohan's refreshed look to Christina Aguilera's youthful transformation — and asks the question on all of our minds: What's really behind these changes? Are they the result of strategic, modern cosmetic procedures… or something more? Dr. Youn pulls back the curtain on today's most buzzed-about facial rejuvenation techniques, especially the so-called “ponytail lift,” a newer approach that's giving traditional facelifts some serious competition. He breaks down what actually goes into these subtle-yet-powerful makeovers — from brow and mid-face lifting to fat grafting, lasers, and all the little tweaks that add up to a natural, lifted look. With his signature blend of honesty and expertise, Dr. Youn explains what works, what to be cautious about, and why “less is more” is becoming the golden rule in modern aesthetic medicine. Whether you're curious about celebrity transformations or simply want to understand the future of facial rejuvenation, this episode offers a clear, candid look at how people are getting younger-looking results without the old-school facelift vibe.
