Tune in as we uncover practical insights for living with joy, humility, and integrity—and be reminded of God's love for each one of us. Whether you're seeking encouragement, inspiration, or just a moment to pause and reflect, this episode serves up nourishing truths for every heart. Let's walk forward in God's joy and strength, knowing without a doubt: you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Wisdom for the journey. What do these words from Proverbs 15 speak to us today? They remind us that the Lord sees and knows all; he keeps watch not only over the good, but over the evil too. We are not hidden from him. Every word we speak, every motive of our heart is open before him. These words of wisdom call us to gentleness and humility—to let our words be a tree of life, bringing encouragement and truth, rather than crushing the spirit. And when correction comes, Proverbs urges us to embrace it, to learn from it, and to grow wise, for only the fool rejects discipline. There's a clear path laid out here—a path where godliness leads to treasure, where upright living leads to wide-open highways and joy in the home. It's a life where we hunger for knowledge, feast on good advice, and surround ourselves with many counselors. Where fitting words and cheerful looks bring joy and health. It's not always the path of wealth or ease—sometimes it's a bowl of vegetables shared in love rather than steak served with hatred and strife—but it's the path God delights in. It's the way of peace, integrity, and honest hearts. Proverbs 15 invites us to let God's wisdom shape our journey. It warns us that pride leads to ruin, but humility opens the door to honor. If we let the fear of the Lord teach us, if we listen to correction, we'll grow richer in understanding and find ourselves at home among the wise. God delights in pure words and upright prayers—he is close to those who seek him. So, today, let's choose the wise path. Let's walk in humility, let gentle words root our conversations, and let the joy of the Lord give strength to our hearts. Let us remember: our Father's eyes are on us—not in condemnation, but with love. His heart is for us. “You are loved—no doubt about it.” May his joy be your strength today, and may you grow in the wisdom that leads to life. That's my prayer for my own heart, for my family, and for you. May the wisdom of God guide you on your journey. 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools gush out folly. 3 Yahweh's eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good. 4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit. 5 A fool despises his father's correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence. 6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but the income of the wicked brings trouble. 7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so with the heart of fools. 8 The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight. 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but he loves him who follows after righteousness. 10 There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way. Whoever hates reproof shall die. 11 Sheol and Abaddon are before Yahweh— how much more then the hearts of the children of men! 12 A scoffer doesn't love to be reproved; he will not go to the wise. 13 A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but an aching heart breaks the spirit. 14 The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly. 15 All the days of the afflicted are wretched, but one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast. 16 Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble. 17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, than a fattened calf with hatred. 18 A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife. 19 The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, but the path of the upright is a highway. 20 A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother. 21 Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding keeps his way straight. 22 Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. 23 Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time! 24 The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol. 25 Yahweh will uproot the house of the proud, but he will keep the widow's borders intact. 26 Yahweh detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the thoughts of the pure are pleasing. 27 He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes will live. 28 The heart of the righteous weighs answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil. 29 Yahweh is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. 30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones. 31 The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise. 32 He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding. 33 The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom. Depression is real. It can feel like living under a constant wave of trouble, powerless and overwhelmed—even when the “wave” is only half a foot tall. Proverbs 15:25-33 draws a sharp contrast between the destiny of the wicked and the blessing of the upright, showing how God responds to pride, injustice, humility, and righteousness. These verses reveal that the Lord actively tears down the plans of the proud while establishing and protecting the humble. The upright find favor through integrity, wise speech, and a teachable spirit, while the wicked bring trouble upon themselves through greed, arrogance, and resistance to correction. This passage calls us to embrace humility, guard our words, and walk in the fear of the Lord, knowing that these qualities lead to honor, wisdom, and life.
20 Proverbs 15-16; 24 Jeremiah 27-31; 19 Psalms 36-38; 42 Luke 1-3
Proverbs 15:18-24 highlights the practical blessings that flow from living a righteous and wise life. These verses contrast the outcomes of anger versus patience, pride versus humility, and folly versus discernment. A life marked by righteousness brings peace, joy, and guidance, while a life driven by selfishness and impulsiveness leads to strife and destruction. God honors those who pursue wisdom and seek counsel, guiding them along a path that leads away from trouble and toward life. This passage invites us to consider how our daily choices, rooted in patience, humility, and godly wisdom, can lead to lasting blessings and deeper alignment with God's purpose.
God calls us to reorder our lives around what really matters: joy in Him, peace in our homes, and love in our relationships.
Proverbs 15:11-17 offers a sobering and comforting reminder that nothing is hidden from the eyes of the Lord, not even the depths of our hearts. God sees beyond our outward appearance and actions; He weighs our motives, discerns our thoughts, and understands our joys and sorrows. These verses contrast the lives of the righteous and the wicked, showing that true joy, peace, and contentment are not found in riches or status, but in a heart that fears the Lord and seeks His wisdom. This passage invites us to live openly and honestly before God, knowing that His all-seeing eyes are not only watchful but full of grace for those who walk in reverence and humility.
