Dr Lange and Dr Summerton invite everyone to come out to their 20th annual Fall Festival at the Lange Eye Institute on October 4, 1--2. They start the show off discussing the powers of both Lumenis Opti Light and Opti Lift. This is the one two punch to fight against dry eye by addressing blocked meibomian glands and lower lid laxity. The Lange Eye Institute has been getting amazing results using both Opti Light and Opti Lift procedures on their patients with MGD and dry eyes. Dr Lange also mentions there is an added aesthetic benefit from the Opti light and Opti lift procedures. Dr Summerton goes over a recent study proving the positive benefits on lower lid laxity and dry eye utilizing Lumenis Opti Lift. Both doctors go over the different types of sunglasses available for protection while driving, playing sports or on the water. Glaucoma is the "sneak thief of sight" and must be treated medically however the doctors discussed some natural approaches to help slow down some of the field loss associated with glaucoma. They discussed some clinical studies on cardiovascular exercise lowering intraocular pressure and preserving visual field loss. Dr Lange promotes Fortifeye Eye Pressure and Neuro Cognitive Support supplement for glaucoma and glaucoma suspects. He states this does not replace glaucoma treatment and can be used in conjunction with current treatment. A large portion of today's show discussed the powers of the right form of protein. Dr Lange and Dr Summerton spoke about the Fortifeye Vegan Super Protein and how it is comparable to whey protein in amino acid content and protein power. Fortifeye Vegan Super Protein is a plant-based protein sourced from Canada and America not any from China. The doctors state that most Americans are not getting enough high-quality protein and we all need to eat more protein. Fortifeye Vegan Super Protein or Fortifeye Super Protein is a way to get more super clean protein. call 866 503-9746 for Fortifeye Vitamins and 352 753-4024 to the Lange Eye Institute. #veganprotein #veganproteinpowder #naturalglaucomatreatment #glaucomaawareness #veganlifestlye #veganlife #optilight #optilift #lumenis #lumenisoptilight #lumenisoptiliftSupport the show: https://www.drmichaellange.com/category/ask-the-doctor/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We live in a world dominated by screens. From smartphones and tablets to laptops and televisions, screen time has become inescapable. Americans now average 7 to 9 hours of screen exposure daily, and the consequences are taking a toll on our vision - no matter your age. Digital eye strain has reached epidemic proportions, with symptoms of blurred vision, dry eyes, and headaches. More alarmingly, excessive screen use may be fueling a sharp rise in myopia (nearsightedness), particularly in children. Based on these trends, half the world's population is expected to be nearsighted by 2050.Integrative nero-ophthalmologist Dr. Rudrani Banik (Dr. Rani), founder and medical director of EnVision Health NYC visits with Mark Alyn to discuss eye health and to invite listeners to the upcoming free The Eye Health Summit (May 1 - May 7th). The problem goes beyond discomfort. Increased screen exposure strains the eye's focusing system, leads to poor blinking habits, and exposes us to high-energy blue light, which interferes with sleep cycles and may contribute to retinal damage.Nearly 20 million Americans have age-related macular degeneration (AMD), with 1 in 10 adults over 50 showing early signs. Glaucoma, the second leading cause of blindness, affects 3 million Americans, often with no symptoms until severe damage occurs. With cataracts and other sight-threatening diseases on the rise, early detection and preventive care are more critical than ever. The Eye Health Summit, a free, global event taking place on May 1–7 coinciding with National Healthy Vision Month. Did you know that the more you wear your glasses, the stronger prescription you'll need?Contrast sensitivity loss is an eye problem doctors don't commonly check for. This condition affects the ability to differentiate between shades of grey, causing blurry vision, especially in low light. Carotenoids are antioxidants that protect the eyes against blue light, chemicals, damage from diabetes, and more. However, as we age, carotenoids decrease, so eye protection also decreases. Full-spectrum light can be helpful but will not solve the problem. To improve eyesight, you need to increase the efficiency of the retina. Sunlight is vital for eye and retina health. It allows UV and infrared light into the eye and can also help build up the eye's melatonin. You can increase carotenoids in the eye by consuming foods with lutein and zeaxanthin. Both carotenoids are found in egg yolks. If you choose supplements with lutein and zeaxanthin, look for one with at least 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin. Research has shown significant improvement in macular degeneration and contrast sensitivity loss in people who took lutein and zeaxanthin for 12 weeks. Ophthalmologist Dr. Chris Knobbe stresses the importance of removing seed oils from the diet and moving towards an ancestral diet for improved eyesight and eye health. Fatty fish like salmon contain omega-3s, which support eye health and reduce inflammation. DHA is vital for the brain and retina and is found in fish oil and cod liver oil.Vitamin D is critical for every part of the eye and can help with conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinopathy. Take at least 10,000 IU of vitamin D every day. Vitamin A is essential, especially for night vision. Zinc can also help!DATA:https://www.sciencedirect.com/science...
