Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”What happens when you start defining yourself by your struggles rather than by your God-given identity? Deacon Gerald Marie Anthony tackles this profound question in a conversation that strikes at the heart of what it means to be authentically human in our confused modern world. The conversation delves deep into what Pope Pius X called "the synthesis of all heresies"—modernism—which teaches us we don't need God to progress. This mindset manifests when we put our ultimate trust in money, work, technology, or social acceptance rather than in our Creator. Through St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy devotion, we discover the antidote to modernism's emptiness. Whether you're battling pornography addiction, wrestling with unwanted attractions, or simply feeling lost in today's confusing cultural landscape, by placing our trust in Jesus rather than in ourselves or worldly solutions, we can experience true transformation. How can embracing this identity help us overcome modern emptiness? What are the dangers of modernism, as described by Deacon Anthony, which places trust in worldly things like money, technology, or social acceptance instead of God, and how does Scripture guide us to trust in God alone?Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:24 – “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. This isn't just about personal growth; it's about lasting impact. In this sermon we're joined by special guest Pastor Lars Halvorsen, the Regional Director of C3 Australia. Dive in as we explore what it means to bear fruit that remains - a powerful concept from John 15:16. Are we bearing 'seedless fruit,' or are we actively sharing God's word and seeing it take root in others? Watch this video to move beyond surface-level Christianity and into a faith that multiplies.
Scripture Reference: John 6:1-14, 25-51 What is our natural response when we don't have enough patience, kindness, faith, resources, wisdom, or humility? How might our response change if we follow Jesus' pattern? Henri Nouwen's Life of the Beloved: “To identify the movements of the Spirit in our lives, I have found it helpful to use four words: “taken,” “blessed,” “broken,” and “given…” These words also summarize my life as a Christian because, as a Christian, I am called to become bread for the world: bread that is taken, blessed, broken, and given… these four words have become the most important words of my life… they speak about the most divine as well as the most human behavior. They reach high as well as low, embrace God as well as all people.” Sermon Points: Bread & the Bible Living Bread Leftovers
On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the true meaning of this solemn holiday—not just a day of rest and recreation, but a time to remember and honor the men and women who laid down their lives in service to our country. Lynette Kittle takes us back to the origins of Memorial Day, offering historical perspective and spiritual comfort for those grieving their loss. Through Scripture and prayer, we are reminded that while their sacrifice brings sorrow, it also points to the ultimate hope we have in Christ. Themes Explored: The history and purpose of Memorial Day Honoring military sacrifice with reverence and gratitude The eternal hope for those who die in Christ Comfort for grieving families The call to remember freedom's cost Scripture Reference John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Breakfast on the Beach ...Oh Peter | Restored & Sent This week's sermon closes out our journey through the Gospel of John with a look at one of the most meaningful conversations in the New Testament. After publicly denying Jesus three times, Peter is met not with condemnation, but restoration. Jesus meets him on the shore, invites him into honest reflection, and reaffirms his calling. Key Insights: 1. No failure is final when surrendered to Jesus. 2. Jesus restores us publicly to use us powerfully. 3. Real restoration starts with honest self-evaluation. 4. Jesus calls us back by asking for our love, not perfection. 5. Our past failures, when redeemed, become tools for ministry. Scripture Reference: John 21 (https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.21.NIV) This message is a powerful reminder that no failure is final in the hands of Jesus. Whether you're coming off a season of drifting, doubt, or denial, Jesus still invites you to follow Him again. "Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning." - Psalm 30:4-5 Eastertide: As early as the second century AD, Easter for the Christian Church extended forward into a “most joyful season” of fifty days leading into Pentecost. Known as “Eastertide”, it was a season of hope and celebration in which Christians began to get a foretaste of the heavenly banquet awaiting them. It was an appropriate time to spread the Good News of Christ's resurrection and celebration. The heart of the Christian calendar rests squarely on Easter. The celebration of Eastertide allows us to see our Christian life from the other side of Easter and encourages us to live our lives in Christ's victory, hope, and power. It invites us to feel the exhilaration of his disciples after realizing he was alive! Scripture Reference: John 21:1-19 5/4/25

Big Idea: Those who Christ has found intentionally invite others to believe. This Sunday, we explored John 1:43-49, where Jesus calls His disciples and invites them to follow Him. Philip found Nathanael and said, “Come and see.” Through this passage, we are reminded that following Christ is an invitation not just for ourselves but for others as well. Who will you invite to believe?
Scripture Reference: John 13:33-38; John 18:12-27
Big Idea: Christ is specific in how He wants His disciples to follow Him.This week, we finished the book of John, focusing on John 21:15-25. We explored Jesus' personal call to Peter to ‘feed My sheep' and the unique way He leads each of His disciples. Through this passage, we were reminded that following Christ is not a one-size-fits-all journey, but a personal and intentional call to obedience, love, and faithfulness.

Have you ever felt the sadness of being rejected? You get passed over, embarrassed in front of other people. Oh, we've all felt that. Those feelings of rejection take root in your life, especially if it's something personal and really close to home. Know this: A better day is coming. Listen to these words of Jesus… Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. That feeling of rejection doesn't have to last forever. As a matter of fact, God is inviting you today into His own family. Say “Yes” to Him! He loves you, He will accept you with great joy. Friends come and go throughout our lives. Relationships change and sometimes they end. But there is one who does not change who will never leave you. God speaks these words in the Bible, in the book of John. He says, No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. This promise is for you today. No matter what's happening in your life, no matter what has happened in your past; God has not forgotten you and He will not abandon you. I have had some hard times in my life, gut-wrenching grief and pain. But God has been with me through it all and He has never let me down. Do you want to know the one who promises to always be with you? Why don't you cry out to Him today? Give your life to Him…The One who came to earth to be with you. Always remember, there is hope with God. This is Wendy Palau. There was a time when I moved from place to place looking for a fresh start, thinking maybe here, maybe now… It took me a long time to discover that my purpose wasn't in a place or a career. It was in a person—a relationship with Jesus, the One who loved me already. Jesus said this in the book of John in the Bible… Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot produce fruit unless you remain in me. Jesus loved me despite my failures, my wandering, my wild living, all my attempts at different careers. Wherever you are in life, He loves you. He wants you to come to Him and know Him. Do you want that? Pray with me now. God, You're the one I have been searching for. I do believe in You and I love you. And I put my life in Your hands. Show me how to live in You. I'm Yours forever. In Jesus name, amen. Remember, there is always hope with God. Big Idea: Christ desires that I know the privileges I have as His disciple. This week, we focused on John 21:1-14, reflecting on what it means to be a disciple of Christ. We looked at how Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples, provided for them, and invited them into deeper fellowship. Through this passage, we were reminded of the privilege it is to follow Him and trust in His provision.

“Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. O continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your salvation to the upright of heart!” (Psalm 5-10) Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – Scripture and the constant witness of the Church teach that human life is created in the image and likeness of God. The value of life, therefore, does not depend on law or personal preference. Rather, it depends on the purpose of God at creation, and His continuing love for human creatures. So great is this love, that He sent His Son to become human, to live as an embryo and become born, to live among us and suffer, to die and resurrect for our hope and glory. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is today, the Sunday closest to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. President Ronald Reagan first set the day aside in 1984 to give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Scripture Reference: John 1:1-14 & Titus 2:11-14 12/24/24
