Ep. 291 — Holding Fast to Biblical Truth in an Age of Relativism When your girl starts asking hard questions—about right and wrong, fairness, love, or truth—how do you help her find her footing in a world that says truth is whatever she wants it to be? In this powerful episode, hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose dig deep into the cultural currents shaping our daughters' minds today. Together, they unpack what moral relativism looks like in everyday life and explore how parents can anchor their girls in the absolute truth of God's Word. From understanding the roots of modern relativism to recognizing how it creeps into conversations about identity, justice, and love, this episode offers practical, biblical strategies to help families stand firm in faith. You'll also hear from Patti Garibay, American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, in a Raising Godly Girls Minute. Patti sheds light on how this subtle cultural force erodes Biblical conviction—and how Scripture gives parents and girls the solid ground they need to live out God's truth with confidence and grace. Rachael and Natalie remind us that God's character is not shifting sand; it's the foundation of all truth. Through His Word, He reveals what is right, just, and good—and invites us to reflect that truth in our daily lives, even when it costs us comfort or popularity. For every mom raising girls in this post-truth age, this episode will renew your confidence that God's truth still stands—and so can your family. Three Things to Remember Absolute truth exists—and its Author is God. The Ten Commandments still stand as a foundational guide for morality and right living. Knowing God's character clarifies truth. Understanding His justice, love, and holiness keeps us grounded when culture distorts what's right. Build courage in your girl. Teach her that following Jesus may not always be popular—but it will always be worth it. Scripture References in This Episode Exodus 20:1–17 – The Ten Commandments, God's moral law for His people. John 16:33 – "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Philippians 4:8 – "Whatever is true, whatever is noble…think about such things." Romans 12:2 – "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." In light of all the truths we have learned in chapters five to ten, we now reach the heart of the exhortation of the letter: we must draw near, hold fast our confession, consider how to stir up one another, and we must never throw away our confidence.

Revelation 3:7-13 | Holding Fast to Jesus | Chris Daukas
In this sermon, Matt Carvel explores what it means to hold fast to the truth of Jesus in a post-truth culture. Drawing from Philippians 2:12-18, he challenges us to stop defining our own “truth” and instead receive God's truth through His Word, living as children of God who shine as lights in a crooked and twisted generation. It's a call to depend daily on Jesus, reject grumbling, and root our lives in the gospel that brings freedom and joy.

In the mid-first century, the apostle Paul writes to a church in turmoil and reminds them of why and how they had become Christians. The ten things initial things he wants to remind them of are still just as relevant for today. In this episode we consider his reminder to the Corinthians to "hold fast" to the gospel he is also reminding them of.
Michael Lodge, Speaking Pastor As followers of Jesus Christ we are not called to a passive but an active lifestyle of faith. In this section of Hebrews the author is inviting the readers into a lifestyle of HOLDING FAST. Step out of a life of passively conforming to the circumstances or culture around you. Instead we are called to set the temperature of the world by holding fast to our confession of hope. Today we evaluate four ways to hold fast to our Savior. Looking at Hebrews 10:19–25, guest speaker Nick Fatato reminds us that because of Jesus' sacrifice, we have full access to God's presence—not by anything we've done, but by His blood. This truth calls us to live with intention: to draw near to God, hold firmly to our hope in Christ, spur one another on toward love and good deeds, stay rooted in the church community, and offer daily encouragement to others. In a world that often pulls us toward selfishness or despair, the resurrection makes us “prisoners of hope,” confident that every trial is temporary and our eternity with Christ is secure. Nick Fatato serves as superintendent of the Assemblies of God ministry network in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and works globally with Live Dead—a missionary movement focused on planting churches among unreached people groups in challenging and often dangerous regions. He and his wife, Gina, have also been long-time mentors to Pastor Scott and Tiffany.

Tim and Mary come bearing headlines for another round of news and commentary. Today we discuss persecution in America, as anti-Christian rhetoric ramps up in diverse places. Last week we chatted with Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to learn about our church family overseas; today we talk about perils in the US - and opportunities to stand firm for the faith. We also look at the latest with the IRS statement allowing pulpits to promote political candidates. Good, bad, ugly? Freedom of speech is always good, and just because it comes from the side of those who preach morals and are pro-life, doesn't make it less valuable. In fact, the world needs more words of value spoken by God's people on many subjects. But, we also have people in pews who think differently about politics and candidates. Is this a breeding ground for divisiveness, and what about those who really don't come to church to hear about politics on any level? Just askin'. We also talk about the 2-state solution and hostility against Jews. Did we really think we would be left out of that danger zone, where our Jewish brethren are suffering for their beliefs but not the church? As conversations around sexuality and gender identity dominate today's culture, Christian parents face a daunting challenge: how do we love our daughters unconditionally while holding fast to Biblical truth? With the world telling girls that identity is self-defined and ever-changing, it's more important than ever to guide them back to the unchanging truth of God's Word. In this powerful episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, host Patti Garibay (Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, American Heritage Girls) is joined by Melinda Patrick—Director of Parent Support for His Wonderful Works, podcast host of The Bridge Between Us, and author of The Daring Rescue. Drawing from her own family's journey, Melinda offers practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement for parents navigating conversations around LGBTQ identity with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Together, Patti and Melinda dive into the pressing issues facing Gen Z girls today—and Gen Alpha girls to follow—from cultural pressures during Pride Month to the influence of social media and shifting moral standards. They explore how to communicate Biblical values without compromising love, why intercessory prayer is vital, and how parents can overcome feelings of shame, fear, or confusion when their child's beliefs clash with their faith upbringing. This episode also unpacks Melinda's three key principles for loving your daughter while standing firm in truth: engaging with God, embracing your God-given role as a parent, and trusting in the spiritual equipping God provides. Melinda reminds listeners that God never calls us into battle unprepared—and that victory lies in co-laboring with Him. Whether you're a Christian parent walking through these sensitive conversations now or preparing for the future, this episode will equip you with Biblical wisdom, compassionate strategies, and the encouragement to lead your daughter in truth and love.
