It's a show before July 4th! We talk about Nora's superpower, find out why I wake up annoyed every morning and talk about new/old Jawbone Radio. This podcast sounds bad, but the Twitch stream sounds awesome. Anyway, enjoy this new ASMR podcast!RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
Here is a show from Easter 2005 better known as 3/25/05. Apparently, I was sick that holiday but still felt well enough to do a show. Once again I don't remember this at all. In fact, I'm going to listen to it now and see if I can job my memory. I suggest you do the same! Listen in and enjoy!RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!

Here is a show from 3/22/05. I don't remember recording this at all. Our guest is my friend Jim, who used to run our Live365 radio station (!) called NTR. I barely remember that at all. But it was pretty cool to listen to. Once again, Nora and I am fraught with technical issues and echo. And Jim is thrown off by the echo and sounds like he's high. It's a pretty cool show to listen to, so please do!RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
We record a wonderful show with me having a cold and talking about Tiger Dreams. Nora talks about her slow motion dreams and Roombas. I hope you enjoy this wonderful, wonderful podcast. Enjoy!RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
It's a brand new/old Jawbone from 3/19/05. There was a time when I would travel with all my podcast gear and do shows from the road. It didn't happen very often but it happened this time. I was on a work trip in Toronto, Canada and I recorded a show via Skype with Nora from my hotel room. I think I wanted to do it to show that I could do it. The audio turned out pretty good and the music is pretty good too. If anyone know who does that song at the top of the show, let me know because I'd love to find it. In any event, enjoy this show from March 2005.RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
Woo wee! This is a tough one audio wise. Tonight. we have our son Patrick on. via Zoom. The night is fraught with all kinds of audio and video snafus. but in the end, it all works. It's a brand new/old Jawbone from 3/16/05. We talk about our front page story on The Plain Dealer written by Roger Metzger. It's our first piece of media that we ever got for our show. This show is from 3/14/05 and features our interview with Brian Ibbot from the first podcast I listened to, Coverville. It's really great to hear this episode and the beginning of our beautiful friendship. Listen in and enjoy it, damnit!RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
I made a mistake and posted the wrong episode this morning, so now you get two episodes today. Huzzah! Around this time, we started playing "pod safe" music. We start with a band out of Columbus and then we start talking about being sick. It's weird to hear about sickness especially during Covid times. I was sick a lot many years ago and I think a lot of it had to do with the many kids we had. This show is from 3/13/05, also I guess. So we did two shows in one day? What the heck! I hope you are enjoying these.Incidentally, this episode is where D. Verada grabbed a lot of the drops from our theme song. (for those of you who remember that.)RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!
You get two episodes of our old show today because of my silly mistake. In any event, here is this show from 3/11/05. It features Neil, our fat guy in the basement and a discussion about a variety of topics. I also talk about my folks and driving with my mom in Las Vegas, which is pretty interesting. Miss my folks a lot. I hope you are enjoying these.RSS FeedDownload Now!Watch Us Live On Twitch!

Ok, we'll be digging into our big anniversary show shortly, but first, let's cover this week's news... AIE NEWS (T)- Huge Congrats to Alachaas and Leontine on the birth of their level 1 human, Aria Rose. Daddy is a Tank, Mommy is a Hunter- word has it, sweet little Aria will be getting her account soon and will learn to heal so they can LFG as a family. Shadow Priest was mentioned, but we'll see how that works out for them. (M) - AIE is also celebrating as it's our 8 year anniversary. If you want to share your history with AIE, the is a google doc linked in the show notes and on the forums. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1mlRhV-ZZWEUHrUoBWFTiF-EYccBevfB0FJTW5N9cuVs/viewform AIE in WoW had two weekend events to honor this momentous occasion: The ever lovely Nevermore held an in game Meet and Greet event yesterday, to celebrate Valentines day and the Love of AIE! It was a massive success, and an impromptu Warcraft Trivial Pursuit game broke out. http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55727-valentines-day-meet-greet-event/ And today, to share the love of PVP, Sparrow and crew ran an assault on Ashran with a might, fury and humor seldom seen on the field of battle. This event ran from 2-6 server time, and feedback from twitter indicates that this was an event enjoyed by all! http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55708-bloody-valentine-event-pvp/ (T) - In February 2007, Alea Iacta Est was formed by the creators and fans of several popular podcasts (a guy you may of heard of, Scott Johnston/Gerp -guy from The Instance and ELR, Randy/ Maui from the Instance, Veronica- Winema from Buzz out Loud, and Mahalo Daily, Len from Jawbone Radio, and the crew from WoW Addons. AIE has gone through a few iterations- initially, the name of the guild was I Eat Babies, but that was quickly changed due to it not being family friendly- and Alea Iacta Est- Latin for “the Die has been Cast” was chosen as the new name. Before the start of Cataclysm, we were the largest guild in North America, though due to guild caps placed by Blizzard, we had to break into much smaller co-guilds. We are so large, we have 11 co-guilds, all bound together by the Greenwall created by our own robot and master planner, Stigg. And with that, let's get to Ralff and Stigg and talk about AIE in the past, present and future ... GAME NEWS Interiew/Discussion Mkallah- Ralff and Stigg, thanks so much for joining us. Both of you have been in AIE for a long time, and have been a huge factor in our community - what brought you to AIE originally? (Once they are done, the hosts can go around and answer the same topic) Tetsemi - Due to our sheer number, AIE tends to be forced to create our own solutions to problems that Blizzard never anticipated - in fact, there are times that we have our own trending topic on Twitter, #AIIEproblems! Can you guys give us some insight on how we go about creating new tools, especially for AIE? What sort of iterative process do you go through from problem identification to solution and creation? Mkallah- The fact that AIE is active, in and out of game, is a big part of our culture - Stigg - what was your first real life AIE event and your most memorable? Ralff - what was your first real life AIE event and your most ...

Holy cow. Sorry for the long time between updates. Nora and I have not had a chance to do a normal Jawbone in quite some time because of a various number of reasons. But don't give up hope yet. I do have a new "old" show from the first 60 to share. I have decided to give myself a schedule for these so I will be posting these on the infamous "Throwback Thursdays".This show is from 2/23/05 and features Nora's sister Joan and her now ex-husband Aaron. I have to be honest, I didn't listen to this episode as there is a certain awkwardness for me hearing from someone who is no longer in your day to day life. I'm sure it's funny, but I have no desire to listen to it. I guess this is one of the byproducts of doing a podcast. Life changes and you have an audio recording of time before that change. In any event, I hope you enjoy this throwback. RSS FeedDownload Now!
Episode 9 is from 2/22/2005. Like the Neil episode from before, this is also a pretty important episode of Jawbone. For some reason, I create a fake feud between our show and the PodFather Adam Curry. I don't know why I did this, perhaps only to get more listeners, so you know, trolling. Anyhow, listen in to another nugget of history from us.RSS FeedDownload Now!
Whoo, am I getting behind here on shows! Both old and new. In any event, this show was recorded the very next night after our last show - even though it's taken me a month to post it). In any event, this was a pretty momentous episode as it is the first episode where Neil makes an appearance. This is the origin of the fat guy in the basement story. Around this time, we had seen dozens of stories about people being cut out of basements because they basically ate themselves to morbid obesity. It's a sad truth to be sure, but what struck me as most odd was the amount of people in CLEVELAND who had this problem. In any event, enjoy this "must-hear" episode of Jawbone.RSS FeedDownload Now!
Show Seven! And we still had only been podcasting less than one month! This is from 2/20/2005. In this show, we still talk about about Adam Curry as if he's a thing. Funny stuff. Listen in and let us know if you like this walk down memory lane.RSS FeedDownload Now!
Over the past few days, I've been randomly listening to old episodes of Jawbone. I've been recording a lot of new stuff for Geek A Week, so occasionally, my computer will start playing an old episode and I'll have it on in the back as I'm working. What strikes me the most about these old shows is that I barely remember recording them, so it's been like having the listener experience. They've been fun to listen to, so I went back to the archives and realized that the first 60 episodes are nowhere to be found. One of our listeners actually alerted me to this while at DragonCon this past year and asked if I would ever make those public again. So I've decided to do just that. Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting, in order, the first 60 episodes of Jawbone Radio. I figured it's worth putting them up so people can hear our humble beginnings. Not only that, but these first 60 episodes are an archive of how Nora and I fumbled our way into podcasting. There are discussions about us hitting the front page of our local newspaper, how our story was syndicated across the country and how the BBC picked us as a top podcast to listen to (still unbelievable to me). There are also audio experiments where I would back up my gear when I would go on business trips and Nora and I would record remotely. There are live audio soundscapes and all kinds of really fun experiments that Nora and I don't get a chance to do anymore. So without further ado, here is Episode 1 of Jawbone Radio originally published February 10, 2005.Enjoy!RSS FeedDownload Now!
