If this is something you are listening to for the first time or you've been a long time listener — don't forget to click that subscribe button and download this podcast to your podcast playlist today! Then you get to listen to ALL the encouraging content once it's out into the world — every Monday, to start your week off on the right foot! And if you want to fill my bucket and encourage me onward, you can give this a 5 star rating and write a raving review on Apple Podcast! That simple and you'd be making my day! This week's topic is what everyone has on their mind, especially during summer ------ Their body! How many times do you think about how you feel, or look in an outfit or, when you wake up, or as you are scrolling on social media? I heard from Jess Connelly on the Proverbs 31 Ministries Podcast, that "97% of women think about their body image." That means most of us listening to this upcoming conversation, could relate SO MUCH, because it's something that's on almost everyone's mind as we journey through life. Heather Kelly, the guest speaker on the show today tells us of her own journey, as she came up against health scares, obesity, and sugar addiction being a real thing. Heather went from trying to survive through her days and now she is thriving through them! And it doesn't mean she doesn't have days or rough moments but her courage to keep getting back up is undeniable and contagious! She didn't get there by a fad diet, not by a quick fix, not by giving up over a bad day, not by shaming herself into workout plans, but by courageously making small healthy changes each day! She's SO inspiring, SO humble, and SO kind!!! Heather is a mom of 2 wonderful kiddos, wife to a supporting husband, teacher, and now after losing a whopping 94 pounds, a health coach! She wants everyone to have the lifestyle transformation from the inside out like she has had. I can't wait for you all to listen to her authentic, sweet, gracious, and courageous story! But before we do..... I want to challenge you this week to pause and think about how you view yourself today, then challenge that with asking yourself, What does God say about you? Do you view yourself the same? Do you need to open up the Bible and find out for you or click on it in the Bible App as a topic? Second Challenge: I want you to write down 3 or more things this week that you can tell yourself that are positive. Example: Mine would be —- I am worthy. I am capable. I can do hard things when I stay focused. These breath sayings can be turned into prayers or be the words that remind you of truth! Last and Third Challenge: Write down ONE consistent achievable lifestyle change you can make on your own pursuit to a healthier version of you! It can be the food choices you make, exercise activity you chose, or an environmental change to set yourself up for success (like meal planning, decluttering an area of your house that stresses you out, or simply making your bed)! So let's buckle up — grab your cup of coffee — get on your walk or run or wherever you are and BE ENCOURAGED! Jackie Resources: - Learn more about "Heather Kelly" by following her on FACEBOOK. And if you are in need of that lifestyle change and want to learn more --- feel free to message her about making her your health coach today!! Also you can find some yummy recipe ideas that will spice up your summer season!! - Book to read: "Breaking Free From Body Shame" by Jess Connely - Podcast to listen to: Prov. 31 Ministries with guest - Jess Connely

Have you ever thought that you’re not making a big enough difference? Maybe it feels like you don’t have enough followers or friends on Facebook to really get people to hear you? I’m going to tell you right now that’s a lie! Check out “You Are the Girl for the Job” by Jess Connelly. If you’re running a business and using social media you might have felt that you needed to keep gaining more and more followers, instead of focusing on your current followers and nurturing your community. Here are three ways to look at the influence you already have. Serve them, guide them, and love them! Think about your content and how it can serve them or improve their day to day lives. You need to think about how you can love them and make them feel seen and taken care of. And you need to focus on how you can guide them. They look to you for advice and direction! Even if you feel like you’re not an expert, you can still share your story and your truth! Someone else will always know more about a topic than you will. And that’s ok!! Don’t be more obsessed with gaining more, let’s focus on who is already following you and those that God has already placed in your path! If you haven't checked out audible! My guest for episode #30 is Kara Osborne. Kara is sharing her story about the unexpected journey the Lord took her on of learning how to live well for his glory. Kara is a wife and mother of two who spends her days encouraging others to step forward into the things the Lord has called them to. She’s a former school counselor who founded a faith based Health and Wellness business and ministry called Wellness Witness in 2014. Though local classes, social media, an online membership community called the At-Home Tribe, and through her new podcast IN IT WITH YOU, Kara hopes to love, encourage, equip and led people into brave obedience. Today Kara and I talk about her leaving her job to start her fitness ministry and how it was just about taking the next step, and obeying and trusting in God’s provision. She tells us that is wasn’t easy or always pretty, but because the Lord was faithful to her again and again, she can encourage other women to trust him too. Kara talks about her continuous cycle of jumping in and starting new plan after new plan and thinking that was the one that would bring her lasting hope and satisfaction, but how it never did. She shares her light bulb moment when she gained the insight that God had given her her body as a gift and it was her job to steward it well. Kara talks about drilling down and knowing your WHY and letting go of temporary indicators that don’t bring lasting satisfaction. She says that for most of us, when we get to the heart of why we want to be healthy, it’s because we want to love others well. I love, love, love Kara’s approach, not only to physical wellness, but to spiritual wellness, and her trust in the Lord is contagious!
