Col3trane is a singer-songwriter with a unique background having been raised in the UK and the US. Writing for artists, pursuing his own solo career and finding his way through the industry has lead to some realisations about the impact of other people's words on his confidence and his expectations. Sitting down with Chuckie Online for JD In The Duffle Bag and Lacoste, the emerging star got deep into his career so far.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Erick the Architect over Zoom video! Erick launched his solo project debut in January with Future Proof, a 5-song EP written as he processed the catastrophic events of last year. Out of his anger, fear and frustration came the realization that we must better ourselves to face the inevitable challenges that lie ahead. Part free-wheeling music fest, part self-improvement workshop, Erick envisioned this festival to explore these ideas in a novel, experiential way, inviting the world to be better alongside him. Future Proof has been covered by Complex, Hypebeast, High Snobiety, the Fader, XXL, NPR Music, Brooklyn Vegan and beyond, and features Loyle Carner, Col3trane, FARR, Sophie Faith, Linden Jay and Pip Millett. Erick the Architect is a celebrated artist and a sought-after collaborator, having worked with over 50 different artists including Tech N9ne, Denzel Curry and Portugal. The Man. He is working on forthcoming projects with both longtime and new collaborative partners - Joey Bada$$ and James Blake respectively. As a founding member and primary producer of Flatbush Zombies, Erick has accomplished some incredible feats including 871 million streams across all platforms, Billboard 200 debuts and having played some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza. With supergroup Beast Coast, Erick has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. We want to hear from you! Episode 20 man never thought I would get this far so we are gonna just rock any and everything from this last year. I sit and think about warm summer nights and what could be. Warm summer nights far from the couch and tv. Warm summer nights filled with old school music and bbq’s Warm summer nights filled with friends, road trips, and ice cold brews Yes warm summer nights with dinners outside by the moonlight. Warm summer nights long walks with this mixtape seems just right. Warm summer nights filled with dragon flies and bumble bees Warm summer nights with popcorn and drive in movies The warm summer nights when short shorts and halter tops become the sexy. I miss those warm summer nights just having the beats and rhymes as my extasy. So as I sit and think about those warm summer nights and what they could, should, or will be. I am just gonna drop this mix and put some headphones on. Gotta get back to those warm summer nights man!! Bong Bong son!!

This week's guest Col3trane, a rising star in British Soul and R&B is one to watch. He was raised in London to American parents A musician inspired by icons like Prince, Marvin Gaye alongside the rawness of Hip-Hop heavyweights like Nas and Biggie. He has quietly been making noise underground, starting first on Soundcloud capturing a community of music tastemakers, people that search high and low for sounds that most times the mainstream ignores. The release of his Tsarina' mixtape solidified him as a voice and writer to not ignore. Col3trane showcased his many moods and sounds by dropping a project that wasn't easy to define or put in a particular genre box. Early comparisons to Frank Ocean started to create a buzz and had him recording in both the U.S and the U.K. He has spent the last few years honing his touring skills, creating music and writing with some of the freshest names including Kehlani and Miraa May. Cole also dropped his 'Breathing Out Of Time' mixtape followed by the 'Heroine' EP, featuring collabs with Goldlink, Raye, DJDS and Sega Bodega. He additionally appeared on songs with Sinead Harnett, Ebenezer and most recently Kiana Lede. The boy has been busy and lockdown hasn't stopped him still creating as we found out when we chatted.Get to know Col3tranePodcast DetailsHost/Producer: MaxFor more interviews/reviews/recommendations FlipYourWig.net Get in touch Max@FlipYourwig.netSubscribe, share and leave a comment. Tracklist: 1. Collard - Warrior Cry 2. Santa Bandida - Cuídame 3. Cleo Sol - One 4. Carlomarco - Antes De Retornar feat. Elpeche 5. DJDS x Col3trane x RAYE - The Fruits 6. Deena Abdelwahed - Tawa (M.E.S.H. Remix) Bonus track: 7. Ghetto Vanessa - Mi BB Escúchala on-demand en:

Снова she is?

On today's episode we welcome industry veteran Dan Solomito to the Only NY store. Solomito has over 15 years of experience in the music industry with an impressive resume that ranges from work in artist management, A&R, and even as an assistant to Damon Dash. These days you can catch him slinging coffee beans at his own S,T Coffee in Bedstuy. Featuring one of the strongest tracklists yet, today's episode is completely balanced. The first half pulls influence from throwback sounds born in the 70s and 80s—vibrant and dynamic picks like "Just Do You" from multi-instrumentalist Lord Echo and "Luck of The Draw," a modern spin on New Wave from Common Body. The second run around the table hip hop takes over. We introduce a song about healthy eating from a prolific underground Atlanta rapper named Tha God Fahim, as well as a Neptunes-inspired track from Ohio's Vada Azeem, and some weighty, rasp-ridden bars from Dallas's Rikki Blu. Episode four finishes strong with a smooth, contagious track form londoner Col3trane—a promising young crooner who manages to remain fresh while displaying a striking resemblance to the god Frank Ocean. 01 "Little Red" by Germans 02 "Just Do You" by Lord Echo & Mara TK 03 "Move With Me" by Tawiah 04 "Luck of the Draw" by Common Body 05 "Eat 2 Live" by Tha God Fahim 06 "Money Fhone" by Vada Azeem 07 "Hearses" by Rikki Blu 08 "Penelope" by Col3trane Playlist Available: soundcloud.com/not97/sets/not-97-season-two-episode-four Artwork by Jordan Moss © NOT 97.
