Episode 288 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're continuing our block on some of the NFL's best postseason games of all time.In this episode we're discussing the 1999 AFC Wild Card game between the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans.In a game which featured two of the most physical defenses in the AFC, the Nashville crowd got their money's worth.Tennessee employed a ground and pound offensive strategy with running back Eddie George and a relentless pass rush led by rookie Jevon Kearse to race out to a 12-0 Halftime lead.Buffalo found their offensive stride in the second half with backup quarterback Rob Johnson and eventually took a 13-12 lead in the fourth quarter on the strength of two touchdown drives.Tennessee then converted a go-ahead field goal with 1:48 to go which appeared to have won them the game. In a 2000 Wild Card game vs the Buffalo Bills, Kevin Dyson caught Frank Wycheck's lateral and sprinted to the house to score the game winning touchdown in the “Music City Miracle,” one of the most memorable plays in NFL history. A few weeks later in Super Bowl 34 against the Rams, Dyson watched blue and yellow confetti fall from the rafters after he was tackled just short of the end zone, infamously stretching his arm for the goal line but coming up just ONE yard short of tying the game as the clock expired. The emotional rollercoaster of being on both the winning and losing side of two of the most memorable moments in NFL history is something worth discussing in terrific detail. And so we did. In this episode, we discuss not only the emotions of both plays, but also the mind blowing details of how those plays came to be and how Dyson himself even found himself in those positions to begin with. Hey, guess what. The Runaways are back! And it is Super Bowl Sunday! Let's see what happens when I try to explain this comic book and what we talk about with just references to Super Bowls Greatest moments. First, let's talk about the Apple in the room. That's right, the giant sentinel helping to guard the Avengers compound from riff-raff like that Runaways. Not unlike a sledgehammer wielding woman, breaking down the barriers....or wait...Are the Runaways the ones with the hammer? Not unlike Harry Carson drenching Bill Parcells with a bucket of Gatorade has there been another time when a Giant has poured cold water on a fellow Giant. Yet, Hank stops the Sentinel from killing kids....what is this world coming to. How about the kitten bowl. No not the halftime entertainment to elicit adorations from your children, I am talking about a kitten in a bowl...like Tigra's son. She uses this child to distract the defense. Flag on the play. The hate that Hazmat and Nico have upon their first meeting is not unlike that of the Cowboys and Steelers from Super Bowl X. Sure there is respect, but there is hate....a lot of hate. Super Bowl 56 was the Bengals vs the Rams....and they hyped this by playing Welcome to the Jungle. And during this comic, the kids went to a jungle. What do you want from me. It is the best I could do.  Never has a tackle like the one Old Lace gave Chase been so powerful. Well maybe when Kevin Dyson was Tackled by Mike Jones on a yard away from the goal line to cause the Titans to lose. That one hurt more. And speaking of dinosaurs, do you remember that time when a big red dinosaur crashed the Super Bowl. Neither did I, because it did not happen yet. But it will. I just need to get this magic amulet to open, and then you will all rue the day. Boy that was sure fun, and not at all a last minute scramble as I tried to get this done. GO SPORTS!
