He followed that with "5th Gear" (1988) "Jazz Jazz (1989) and "Tokyo Nights" (1990) all of which reached the Billboard Top 20 on the Jazz Chart."The MUSE is a great space where I did a show last summer with Colorado local artists and I really fell in love with the place. Goos was born in Doha, Qatar to musically inclined parents who introduced him to rock music at a very young age. This early onset of music led to a gamut of musical influences in his life ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Pink Floyd. His deep- seated love for percussion instruments led Goos on a pursuit to learn the Mridangam. This subsequently enabled him to also take up drumming, giving him a well-rounded understanding of percussion. Goos discovered his passion for dance music through the unique sounds of Eric Prydz and Roger Sanchez. Alex Heffron is a jazz guitarist located in Denver, CO.  Alex has a degree in Jazz Guitar from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a member of numerous groups around Colorado and has performed with many of the local legends, including Ken Walker, Eric Gunnison, Paul Romaine, John Gunther, Paul Warburton, Bob Montgomery, Paul McKee, Jeff Jenkins, Joe Anderies, Gabe Mervine, and Todd Reid, to name a few. He has performed with noted artists such as Tony Monaco, John Riley, Kenwood Denard, Pat Coil, Greg Gisbert, Matt Wilson, Melvin Butler, Corey Christiansen, Earl Klugh, John Von Ohlen, Marvin Stamm, Cody Moffett, Howard Levy, Donald Harrison, Chuck Lamb, Dave Roitstein, Brad Goode, and many others.  Alex was also selected as one of 89.3 KUVO's 30 musicians under 30 initiative, which highlighted young and upcoming musicians around the Denver area.  He has been playing guitar since he was 9 years old and studied with the best in Denver and around the world. United Airlines is expanding its international offerings from Denver, adding a year-round, daily flight to Germany beginning in May.  The afternoon flight to Frankfurt will be operated on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and begins May 2, pending government approval. Work has begun on a $34-million building that will be the future home of Rocky Mountain PBS, local jazz station KUVO and a host of other public media resources in Denver’s Arapahoe Square area. CHRIS TORRES (Oakland) Chris Torres (@chrstrrsmusic) is a drummer and DJ originally from Denver, CO and currently based in Oakland, California. His passion for music was fostered at an early age spending most of his teens and 20s gigging and raving in the copious Denver music scene. He hosted a radio show called the Jazz Odyssey broadcasted on KUVO 89.3fm in Denver from 2015 until his move in 2017. The show highlighted his style rooted in jazz, hip hop, fusion, world, prog, and dance music spanning past to present. Nowadays you can catch him equally comfortable behind the decks or playing drums in a jazz combo around the bay area. The mix is all about having a good time and not taking yourself too seriously. A Colorado College professor tells of a run-in with Harvey Weinstein 30 years ago that led her to study in psychology and sexual objectification. Then, a debate over so-called "green roofs" in Denver. If voters pass a ballot initiative this election, it would mean large, new buildings would have to be topped by plants or solar panels or both. And, in 1985, a new Denver radio station went on the air. Its Latina founders were pioneers, and one will be inducted in the Colorado Latino Hall of Fame tonight.
