Do our memories define who we are? Can a machine have a soul? Do you think the kids dad just gets them every second weekend, or...? Find out the answer to at least one of these questions!

This edition of KVC-Arts is as much about interesting places and people in our region, as it is a remembrance of Mindi McNeil. Mindi was first heard on KVCR on the program, "My Awsome Empire," which was CSUSB student produced, and led by Lacey Kendall. Mindi began interning at KVCR for a time, before moving on to KUVO in Denver. Mindy passed away just last week. Here are three interviews from Mindi on a few different subjects, though with the same passion and enthusiasm. First Mindi checks out the historic California Theatre of the Performing Arts in San Bernardino. A rich history here. Then she finds out more about Tio's Tacos in Riverside, and the incredible found/recycled art to be found there. The program closes with a FUNNY interview with comedian Brad Williams - from Fullerton.
Learn about what it takes to be a national multi award-winning music director at one of America's TOP jazz radio stations as we share a conversation with KUVO's Arturo Gomez.

CHRIS TORRES (Oakland) Chris Torres (@chrstrrsmusic) is a drummer and DJ originally from Denver, CO and currently based in Oakland, California. His passion for music was fostered at an early age spending most of his teens and 20s gigging and raving in the copious Denver music scene. He hosted a radio show called the Jazz Odyssey broadcasted on KUVO 89.3fm in Denver from 2015 until his move in 2017. The show highlighted his style rooted in jazz, hip hop, fusion, world, prog, and dance music spanning past to present. Nowadays you can catch him equally comfortable behind the decks or playing drums in a jazz combo around the bay area. The mix is all about having a good time and not taking yourself too seriously. It highlights the love for deep grooves, funky rhythms, and jazz laden melodies with the intention of inspiring the listener to find their own slice of paradise. A Colorado College professor tells of a run-in with Harvey Weinstein 30 years ago that led her to study in psychology and sexual objectification. Then, a debate over so-called "green roofs" in Denver. If voters pass a ballot initiative this election, it would mean large, new buildings would have to be topped by plants or solar panels or both. And, in 1985, a new Denver radio station went on the air. Its Latina founders were pioneers, and one will be inducted in the Colorado Latino Hall of Fame tonight. Also, what mixed race couples face in Colorado when it comes to discrimination.
Each week, Inside Energy joins our partner radio station, KUVO, for a discussion about the big energy stories we’re watching. This week, while Democratic governors across the country are stepping up on cutting emissions, Colorado’s John Hickenlooper is stepping back. Ben Storrow, a reporter with E&E News, joined KUVO to discuss his recent article on Hickenlooper’s latest moves.
