In this episode, I sit down with Kitty Brandtner, founder and co-president of March Fourth, to discuss the organization's push for gun reform in the U.S. and why federally banning assault weapons is their singular goal. Kitty shares the string of events that led her to founding March Fourth, why radical gun reform viewpoints aren't moving the needle forward, and why a federal assault weapons ban is the simplest and most effective path. She explains the history of assault weapons bans in the U.S., how we arrived at our current mass shooting epidemic, and how the mental health impact from gun violence has a ripple effect throughout a community. We also talk about bringing children up in the era of lockdown drills, holding onto hope and the recent progress that March Fourth has made, actionable items we can all take to help March Fourth's initiative, and more.Key Takeaway / Points:What led to Kitty founding March FourthOn March Fourth's mission and tempered radicalism On the history of assault weapons bans in the U.S.How we arrived at our current mass shooting epidemicOn the mental health impact of our trauma-filled realityOn bringing children up in the era of lockdown drillsOn hope and the recent progress that has been madeOn actionable items we can all take now to help March Fourth's initiativeWhy calling our representatives mattersWhat Kitty does to fill her cupBuy the Quiet Your Mind Journal and Adult Affirmation Coloring Book hereThis episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services.

Petit Biscuit is back in the spotlight with the upcoming release of his new album "Discipline". Having started his career at the age of 15, the French electro wunderkind has already conquered the world with his dream pop hits and captivating melodies. Following the worldwide success of his previous releases, the 24-year-old producer/songwriter/performer is now ready to unveil his new creations, with his own voice at the heart of his songs. Songs from the album have already generated over 600 Million TikTok views and the first single "You Don't Ignore" hit charts around the world including France, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. The focus single for the album will be '"Cruel Heart" which will be accompanied by a music video directed by Quentin Deronzier (Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Drake, Maluma, etc.) "I started composing Cruel Heart in 2019 during a trip to California. The vocal hook that makes up the chorus had been stuck in my head for several years. My friend Hugo, whom you know as Madeon, wanted to participate in the writing process. We often have late-night discussions on various topics: from the paradoxes of life in Los Angeles to our shared passion for investing in characters to write from their perspective. For Cruel Heart, we wanted to detail all the toxic traits we observe in many passionate romantic relationships. The darkness of the arrangement and the musical intention perfectly fit this theme." - Petit Biscuit

I have always loved this song by Madeon. I actually made a couple other versions of it. One in particular was a little more brooding and dark to match the tone 'madness' described in the lyrics. Ultimately, I ended up creating this because I loved the heavy bass and party vibe of this track. Enjoy :)

So you think you've got distractions and can't start a business. Well my guest, Renee Harris has nine children and still found a way to build a six-figure business. How did she balance the demands of a family and the demands of running a business? Renee explains. " We didn't start with 9 kids when we started a business and just like when you have kids normally you don't get them all at once and normally a business doesn't just fall in your lap. " She didn't try to do everything at once, focusing on a few things and let the business and the family grow. She built strategies to engage her children in the process and keep them occupied, when she needed to work on the business. About Renee She is the founder of MadeOn - a unique handcrafted skincare product line specifically for dry, cracked skin. What started as a simple farmer's market booth has grown into 6-figure online business. She has also raised 9 children along the way, teaching them business skills and strategies to develop a marketable talent that earns them a sustainable income.

Defining the sonic border of aggression and harmony, forward-thinking bass producer Kumarion is reimagining the capabilities of modern sound design. While Kumarion is still a young name in the bass community, he's quickly garnered acclaim and accolades to make a fixed impression. His track, “(Give It To Me Like I) Want It,” stole the show during the abrupt 2020 festival season, earning co-signs from Boombox Cartel, CloZee, Feed Me, JOYRYDE, Madeon, & RL Grime. He followed his debut with Closer / Wanna, a two-track EP released with legendary European label UKF's Pilot Imprint. His next original work, “Enemy,” found a similarly prominent placement, earning a spot on RL Grime's Sable Valley first-ever label compilation. 2021 saw releases with Monstercat (“Pure Action”), UKF (“ Instinct”), Jadu Dala (“Bad”), and Deadbeats (“Aura”), in addition to a live performance slate that included a national run on Dirt Monkey's Depolarize tour and support slots for acts like GRiZ and Liquid Stranger. With the community and contemporaries behind him, Kumarion is pledged to delivering dynamic art that contributes to continued prominence of drum & bass in America. Expect more releases in the 175 BPM range as well as further exploration of the bass genre throughout 2022 and beyond. Less is more. Three ingredients are all it takes for Renee Harris to make her quintessential hard lotion. Growing up in California, Renee shares how she experienced skin dryness due to the harsh summers. After growing up and having children, she noticed that her palms were getting cracked and split due to continuous hand washing after changing so many diapers. She decided to learn to make a lotion bar with three simple ingredients, and she was amazed at the results. She shares how she marketed hard lotion to cowboys and truckers, who were equally amazed. She explains the three ingredients that make hard lotion so special: beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil. Coconut oil melts at the same temperature as the skin, shea butter nourishes the skin, and beeswax helps it to stay longer on the skin. Renee finally shares the secrets of making good, hard lotion. About Renee Renee's first lotion bar was created out of desperation, mixed with creativity. The creativity came from the pleasure she got from making things from her kitchen for her family, whether it was soap, bread, mung sprouts or our family special "apple kefir" that resembles Martinelli's sparkling juice. The desperation came, literally, from her hands. She had the worst pain from the tips of her fingers that were often covered in Band-aids from the cuts and splits from her daily activities and extremely dry skin. Her hands were her most important tools, but they caused her intense suffering... until the lotion bar. Not only did that first lotion bar heal up her skin within days, but she tried it with her son's seasonal eczema, and was ecstatic that his pain also ended with the lotion bar. Something that was so easy to make turned into a family business after she and her older boys took it to the farmer's market for testing where they received great feedback from customers at the market, as well as several online groups who agreed to test it and fill out surveys. Renee and her husband are now running MadeOn full time. Links Website - hardlotion.com Instagram - @hardlotion
