Kevin Withem has a heartfelt conversation with Kyle Spears, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in trauma. Kyle states that "Trauma is hurt stored in the body." How do we navigate our trauma or trauma stored in the body of our fellowships? How do we create safe places for those who have experienced trauma, or for those who have felt measured but not supported? Many in our current culture are increasingly experiencing some form of trauma. Now is a crucial time for the church to provide a place for healing and transformation. Kyle offers pathways for individuals and congregations to enter into this difficult but crucial work. https://www.truthtraumatheology.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@TruthTraumaTheology https://www.facebook.com/truthtraumatheology/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/kyle-spears-limhp-lmft-46b506178/ CGU creates spaces for Christians to gather so that we might recognize Jesus in one another. Why do people have such conflict about evangelism years or decades later? If churches have put an end to harmful practices, why can't people simply move on? You might be wondering what is moral injury? What does moral injury have to do with evangelism? This is the first of two conversations regarding Moral Injury and Evangelism. If you purchased the book Trauma Informed Evangelism by Dr. Charles Kiser & Dr. Elaine A. Heath, I will be covering pages 36-39. We will discuss the long-term effects of when we ignore our relationship with the Holy Spirit and instead follow someone in authority. It creates a deep sense of mistrust of leadership or authority even if people have changed. If people misled us in the past, then they could mislead us in the future. We will discuss this in detail! The next episode will cover Moral Injury & Evangelism: Betrayal of Self and will only be accessible through Patreon. Thank you for your support! Kyle Spears

This week, the Feast is heading to Ohio to visit a brewery entirely dedicated to making beer like they did in the mid-19th century. Located in Dayton, Carillon Brewing Company is not your average craft brewery. Instead of wrestling with stainless steel tanks, you’re more likely to find these brewers chopping wood and discussing 19th century recipe books. We spoke with head brewer Kyle Spears and assistant brewer Dan Lauro to learn what it takes to brew beer like they did in 1855. Here’s a clue: the first thing you’ll need is a really big fire.
