Gold, Grit, and Geology: Unlocking Peru's High-Grade Potential with Daura Gold

In this episode, we chat with Mark Sumner, CEO and Chairman of Daura Gold, a TSX-listed junior miner, advancing high-impact exploration projects in Peru's renowned Ancash region. We discuss what attracted the team to the country, how a re-evaluation of historic drilling at Antonella significantly upgraded the dataset without drilling a single new hole, and what that means for confidence in the scale of the system. We also talk about district context, upcoming drilling plans at Antonella, the discovery potential behind the first systematic drill program at Cerro Bayo, and what Peru is like as a mining jurisdiction.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Daura Gold achieved a 51% increase in gold equivalent gram meters at their Antonella project without drilling a single new hole Despite political shifts, Peru remains a premier mining destination because of its world-class mineral endowment (Top 3 in copper and silver) and its proactive stance on promoting foreign investment  The Antonella project is located in the prolific Ancash Department, immediately adjacent to Highlander Silver's Bonita project and near the legendary San Luis deposit While focusing on Peru, Daura is also actively exploring the Cerro Bayo project in Argentina. This represents the first systematic drill testing of 15 priority targets in the Deseado Massif BEST MOMENTS "Peru has that really exciting combination of incredibly prospective geology... yet so much of the country is still under-explored."  "We managed to materially enhance the data set without drilling a single hole... it's completely changed the profile of the project for us."  "The mineral endowment of the Ancash is incredible... we're surrounded by these incredibly rich, high-grade epithermal vein systems." "We think there's potential for a multi-million ounce deposit at Antonella... that's really what the next 12 to 18 months looks like for us." Igniting the Fire of Commitment Sunday, March 1, 10:50 am, 2026 There is so much in the human heart that is both tender and fragile and ferociously enduring. Fire can be like that quality of what can live in the human heart. How do we know enough about these pieces of ourselves—the ones that matter—to nurture them, protect them, and build a world that does the same? Let's talk about what it takes to do so as we kick off our Annual Giving drive for this next church year. Rev. Vanessa Rush Southern, Senior Minister; Rev. don't despair Sunday, February 1, 2026 Carmen Barsody, Sam Dennison and Mari Magaloni Ramos, preaching If these times call for resilience (and they do), we best not despair, for despair dissipates and distracts. Despair unmoors us and sets us adrift. No! Let us not despair. Let us look simply and solidly upon what is happening here and now. Let us not be swallowed by fretful imaginings. Yes, let us take a deep breath and get on with what is ours to do. This is how we will be prepared for the long haul: we will be together, grounded and in community with resilience. Let us not despair! Let us be resilient! “The Art of Waiting” Sunday, December 7, 2025 In Christian liturgy this is the season of waiting and preparation—of Advent. It is perfectly scheduled in the depths of winter, when so much feels like it is waiting, preparing, quietly under snow until the light draws it out again. The gentle ones whose wisdom goes down sweet and easy and the ones that require a lot more work. In my experience the Prodigal Son, a story told in the Gospel of Luke, is one that a lot of people want to toss aside. It pricks our notions of fairness, our own sibling rivalries. On Sunday we will roll up our sleeves and lean into it and see what wisdom it has to offer. It is a story particularly relevant to the question of belonging. "Poetry in Times of Reverie" Sunday, July 27, 2025 Poetry is a moment distilled. Sometimes it is life pressed into the pages of a book or, more vividly, as Robert Frost said, it is a way of "taking life by the throat." And Alice Walker said, "Poetry is the lifeblood of rebellion, revolution, and the raising of consciousness." In the deep valley of summer, we will sit with some poetry. Rev. “Celebrate! Our Annual Flower Communion Sunday” Sunday, June 8, 2025 I had a coach once who said when you are going up the mountain, you have to take time to go to the overlooks, take in how far you have come, celebrate and enjoy the view, and rehydrate before you move on. We will look back this Sunday, engage in our annual Flower Communion ritual to end our year, and prepare for our annual meeting. Bring a flower from your garden (or from your neighbors!) and come join in a time of taking in the view. Rev. Vanessa Rush Southern, Senior Minister; Rev. "Imagine a World Without War" Sunday, May 25, 2025 On this Memorial Day weekend, let us imagine a world without war. War is the act most antithetical to our values. Right now, it may be hard to imagine a positive future at all, but without imagining what we truly want, not just knowing what we oppose, we remain stuck with what others decide for us.  Rev. Millie Phillips, Affiliated Community Minister; Sam King, Worship Associated; Jill Brindel, cellist; Mark Sumner, pianist Eli Boshears, Camera Operator; Jonathan Silk, Communications Director; Kelvin Jones, Jose Matias Pineda, and Francisco Castellanos, Sextons; Athena Papadakos, Flowers; Linda Messner, Head Usher

"Holding Open Possibilities for Each Other" Sunday, May 11, 2025 In this month when we look at the power of imagination, it is interesting to explore how we do that for one another in our personal relationships. How do parents use imagination (for good and ill) in the shaping of their kids' lives? How can we do that for one another, aware of the ways that are life-giving, second-chance-offering, and liberating? Rev. Vanessa Rush Southern, Senior Minister; Rev.
