Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's 212th lesson on Pokémon biology. This week marks the start of Bug Extravaganza… and also Sneasel. For this month, Mr. Kurtis takes the reins for the next several lessons as we learn about various bug types (and also Sneasel). And for today's lesson, we begin by learning all about Scizor: the Pincer Pokémon and evolved form of Scyther. Scizor's body and muscles are as hard as steel, with pincers able to crush any object. If Scizor locates an enemy, it will attack with its pincers and brutally smash its opponent until there's nothing left. While it's brutalizing its enemy, Scizor uses its wings to regulate its body temperature to prevent itself from overheating and melting. Yikes, talk about a rough way to go. We got an extra-long whopper of an episode this week as we discuss Sharpedo. Get ready for absurd destructive capabilities, gross mischaracterizations, unsettling revelations, and more! Also baseball? And more Zelda obviously. Follow along with the entries below: Ruby: Nicknamed “the bully of the sea,” SHARPEDO is widely feared. Its cruel fangs grow back immediately if they snap off. Just one of these POKéMON can thoroughly tear apart a supertanker. Sapphire: SHARPEDO can swim at speeds of up to 75 mph by jetting seawater out of its backside. This POKéMON's drawback is its inability to swim long distances. FireRed & LeafGreen: The ruffian of the seas, it has fangs that crunch through iron. It swims by jetting water from its rear. Emerald: The vicious and sly gangster of the sea. Its skin is specially textured to minimize drag in water. Its speed tops out at over 75 miles per hour. Diamond, Pearl, Platinum: Its fangs rip through sheet iron. It swims at 75 mph and is known as “The Bully of the Sea.” HeartGold & SoulSilver: It can swim at speeds of 75 mph by jetting seawater through its body. It is the bandit of the sea. Sun: It pursues its prey at speeds of 75 mph and finishes them off with fangs that can crush iron. It is known as the bully of the sea. Moon: It has a sad history. In the past, its dorsal fin was a treasured foodstuff, so this Pokémon became a victim of overfishing. Ultra Sun: People believe that carrying one of its discarded fangs will prevent mishaps at sea, so the fangs are made into accessories. Ultra Moon: It drinks in seawater and jets it from its rear to propel itself. It's very sensitive to the scent of blood. Sword: As soon as it catches the scent of prey, Sharpedo will jet seawater from its backside, hurtling toward the target to attack at 75 mph. Shield: This Pokémon is known as the Bully of the Sea. Any ship entering the waters Sharpedo calls home will be attacked—no exceptions. BTB: Known to pleasant individuals as the Cheetah of the Sea, Sharpedo is on a quest to obliterate all shipping lanes. Mega Sharpedo Sun: The spines sprouting from its head are transformed fangs. If they're injured or broken off, the spines will regenerate countless times. Moon: As a consequence of Mega Evolution, its combative instincts exploded. The yellow marks it bears are scars from a long history of battles. Ultra Sun: The yellow patterns it bears are old scars. The energy from Mega Evolution runs through them, causing it sharp pain and suffering. Ultra Moon: The moment it charges into its opponent, sharp spikes pop out of Sharpedo's head, leaving its opponent with deep wounds. Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's 130th lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we are learning all about Gyarados: the Atrocious Pokémon and evolved form of Magikarp. And what an evolution this is! Gone is the wimpy, useless Pokémon that was Magikarp. Gyarados is feared by many for its temper and destructive behavior. It's been known to appear during times of world conflict, adding to the mayhem by burning everything down. Does Gyarados want the fighting to stop or does it revel in the violence? We may never know. But Pinsir can only throw things twice its weight. However, Pinsir has a Mega Evolution, where it can throw things up to 10 times its weight! This Mega Pinsir also has a pair of wings, which allow it to fly at a blinding... 30 mph. Yeah, not that fast. But it looks cool! It's time to learn all about Lucario and the incredible power of Aura! Finally a Pokemon that DBZ fans can get behind! Buckle up because we've got a lot of entries and a lot of theories about the humanity of Pokemon to interrogate. Follow along with the entries below: Diamond: It has the ability to sense the auras of all things. It understands human speech. Pearl: By catching the aura emanating from others, it can read their thoughts and movements. Platinum: A well-trained one can sense auras to identify and take in the feelings of creatures over half a mile away. HeartGold & SoulSilver: It's said that no foe can remain invisible to LUCARIO, since it can detect auras. Even foes it could not otherwise see. Black & White 2: By reading the auras of all things, it can tell how others are feeling from over half a mile away. Sun: Not only does it perceive auras, but it has also gained the power to control them. It employs them in battle. Moon: They can detect the species of a living being— and its emotions—from over half a mile away. They control auras and hunt their prey in packs. Ultra Sun: It concentrates its mental energy and fires off mysterious waves called auras, which can crush boulders of large size to dust. Ultra Moon: Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily. Sword: It controls waves known as auras, which are powerful enough to pulverize huge rocks. It uses these waves to take down its prey. Shield: It can tell what people are thinking. Only Trainers who have justice in their hearts can earn this Pokémon's trust. Legends: Arceus: A most gallant-looking creature. It emits energy waves and controls them with precision, using them to sense even faraway beings. I have given the name “aura” to this power. BTB: Lucario can vibe with literally everything, including your unwanted emotional baggage. So maybe give it some space unless you really love justice. Mega Lucario Sun: Black streaks all over its body show where its auras and the energy of Mega Evolution intermingled and raced through it. Moon: It readies itself to face its enemies by focusing its mental energies. Its fighting style can be summed up in a single word: heartless. Ultra Sun: Its aura has expanded due to Mega Evolution. Governed only by its combative instincts, it strikes enemies without mercy. Ultra Moon: Bathed in explosive energy, its combative instincts have awakened. For its enemies, it has no mercy whatsoever. Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's 115th lesson on Pokémon biology. And today's class is all about Kangaskhan: the Parent Pokémon. And boy does it live up to its name! Kangaskhan is a fiercely protective mother to her child, whom she carries in her belly pouch. This baby will stay with its mother until it's approximately three years old. Kangaskhan will go to any length to protect her child, even if it means sleeping while standing. She only allows the baby to leave her pouch to play if she believes it's a safe environment. But if something poses a threat to its young child, consider it dead already. Kangaskhan is the ultimate parent. The thought of even mocking its parenting ability is a fool's game. Only a moron would do such a thing. There's more to learn about Kangaskhan, including its Mega Evolution, so be sure to pay attention and take notes! We finally learn everything there is to know about Mega Evolutions this week, but to be honest with you, we have more questions than answers at this point. Key among them: why is there a giant Lucario statue inside this giant building off the coast of Route 12? We'll just have to compartmentalize instead and move onto more important matters, like this very important Skiddo ranch on Azure Bay. All that's left is skillfully navigating an entire SEALs team ropes course before we can take on the gym this week, but all that Kalos-defending and lovemaking has given Joan and L.M. pretty strong cores.

After last week's sprawling journey, Joan of Arceus & LoveMaker69 cool their heels in Cyllage City for a while before sauntering back out. Heading north, they are immediately confronted with yet another pile of mysterious rocks that everyone is losing their minds about, which is the main theme of this whole episode as we get closer to finally knowing the truth about Mega Evolution. Gengar also has a Mega Evolution, which has the ability to access other dimensions, as well as a Gigantamax form, which possesses a giant mouth that is rumored to be a gateway to the afterlife. How can it help recovering ecosystems? How can we avoid exploiting its utilities within the constraints of capitalism? Y'know, typical Pokemon stuff! Follow along with the entries below: Red and Blue: The plant blooms when it is absorbing solar energy. It stays on the move to seek sunlight. Yellow: The flower on its back catches the sun's rays. The sunlight is then absorbed and used for energy. Gold: By spreading the broad petals of its flower and catching the sun's rays, it fills its body with power. Silver: It is able to convert sunlight into energy. As a result, it is more powerful in the summertime. Crystal: As it warms itself and absorbs the sunlight, its flower petals release a pleasant fragrance. Ruby & Sapphire: There is a large flower on VENUSAUR's back. The flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. The flower's aroma soothes the emotions of people. FireRed: A bewitching aroma wafts from its flower. The fragrance becalms those engaged in a battle. Emerald: VENUSAUR's flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. The flower's aroma soothes the emotions of people. Diamond Pearl & Platinum: After a rainy day, the flower on its back smells stronger. The scent attracts other Pokémon. BTB: Venusaur follows the sun and smells great doing it. It's got a real big mouth. Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu (Mega Venusaur): In order to support its flower, which has grown larger due to Mega Evolution, its back and legs have become stronger. Sword (Gigantamax Venusaur): In battle, this Pokémon swings around two thick vines. If these vines slammed into a 10-story building, they could easily topple it. Shield (Gigantamax Venusaur): Huge amounts of pollen burst from it with the force of a volcanic eruption. Breathing in too much of the pollen can cause fainting.
