Listeners of Pokemon Go Radio that love the show mention:Magic the Gathering turned 30 this year…but not actually. We will get to that controversy and the giant convention that Kyle attend this week. We go REALLY deep on the Magic talk so be warned this might not be for everyone. However, if you like Magic or conventions about nerdy stuff, this one is for you.
We are back! Sorry, but Kyle was kidnaped by pirates. That is not actually what happened, but we will get into it before talking about how favorite game of 2021: Valheim. This indie darling swept the world by storm last year talking many game-of-the-year accolades. No surprise, this game is amazing, and we talk about all the things we love about it.
Baywatch Nights is a masterpiece of a time capsule that was the nineteen hundred and nineties, and I will hear no slights against it! Seriously, the mysterious nature of this how has catapulted this two season show into meme cult status, but we wanted to understand how this show got made and who it was for. In watching it (all shows up on YouTube) we learned so much about the time period, television, and discovered there was actually some good stuff too. Also, season 2 was a cocaine fueled nightmare that had aliens and the Hoff punches a mummy. When the sun goes down, baby!
College football season is here, and there are fewer things in this world that bring us as much joy (and crushing disappointment) as our favorite sport. Still, for those not part of the college football cult, deep investment in armature sports might seem odd. This week we take a look at the sport, what makes it unique, why we love it, what it could improve, and where this strange game is going. Sharpen your hammers, it's time to talk about Thor Four the Thoring. This movie truly is an odd duck. Infused with Taika Waititi energy from start to finish, it's a little like Ragnarok, but mostly this movie is its own thing for good and ill. After some time to stew on it, we are finally ready to talk about this entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out James' Instagram for graphic design. Hit him up if you are looking for graphics for a podcast, website, or whatever you need. He does good work.
Sharpen your axe and grab the hoe! It's time to do some farming. We are talking about Stardew Valley this week. This indie game took the world by storm in 2016, and has cultivated a cult like following owing to its charming art, great characters, and fun game play. This game is something that can appeal to anyone. Ash joins us this week to talk all about our favorite farm game. Check out James' Instagram for graphic design. Hit him up if you are looking for graphics for a podcast, website, or whatever you need. He does good work.
GO Fest 2022 is a wrap! We talk about the event, the gameplay, and the people on the show this week. Also, deranged road trippers that we are, our band of 3 drove from Las Vegas to Seattle and back again. We have a lot to say about our journey, but I can sum it up by saying this past week I learned two important things; the unparalleled beauty of the American West and that 1982's “Gloria” by Laura Branigan slaps.
This show is a throw back to our Pokemon GO roots so we can call it Pokemon GO Radio 281! We are so excited for Pokemon GO Fest 2022 in Seattle this week. In order to get back into the swing of things, we brought a real expert to the show. DPhiE is a Pokemon GO podcaster, streamer, PVP expert, and all around super cool person. We talk about the game and our expectations for this GO Fest. Follow DPhiE @DPhiE250 and check her out every week on the GoCast podcast.
This week we are talking about one of the greatest animated series that you might not have ever seen before. Over the Garden Wall is a short mini series that premiered on Cartoon network in 2014 to great acclaim. The art style, music, writing, and voice acting are truly incredible. If you watch these ten about eleven minute episodes, you will not regret it. Over the Garden Wall is literally a masterpiece. Twitter – @BonusEpisodePod Email – info.bonusepisode@gmail.com
Happy Birthday to our homeland this fourth of July. Just like with all family members, there are things we love and things that bring us deep, personal shame. Yet, we take this opportunity to celebrate some interesting American history. Some odd, some heroic, and some stories from the past that are shockingly still familiar. This podcasts celebrates our love of this country and the study of history.
We are back to close out the Obi-Wan series on Disney+. The last 3 episodes were better than the first three, but there was also some strange and confusing choices made along the way. Plus we dive into some easter eggs from other parts of the wider Star Wars canon.

Come home to the ancestral home of the nerds! This week is an intro into playing Dungeons & Dragons, and why we think it's a game anyone and everyone can love. I too once counted myself as a skeptic of this game, but after a couple good friends showed me the light, I am fixated. Join us while we talk through the easiest ways get started playing. Magic the Gathering has been a pillar of nerd culture for almost 30 years. We've played casually for 10 years, and seriously for the past 2. Why has this game endured, and what makes it special? We have a special MTG expert join us this week to hash it out. Magic the Gathering has been a pillar of nerd culture for almost 30 years. This week we dive into Spiderman: No Way Home. We talk about all the reasons why we love this movie, but also discuss the wild production deals that had to happen for this movie to go from being a nerdy dream to a nerdy reality.
This week we talk about an interesting phenomena in tv and movie franchises. People get excited about an interesting or funny side character, and creatives double down to give the people more of what they want. This tendency, like Urkel in Family Matters, makes a potenitally loveable character into an annoyance and detracts from other parts of the show. You will be shocked at how much this happens! Agree? Disagree? Hit us up on Twitter @BonusEspiodePod or email us info.BonusEspiode@gmail.com
Mark and Kyle freed from the bonds of making a show that people actually wanted, set out on a self-indulgent exploration of the weird shit they care about deeply and possibly too much. This week we explore the cop comedy sitcom Brooklyn 99, and try to understand why this tv show is so incredibly good. Follow us on Twitter @BonusEpisodePod
Ha. I had Nar write this part and he was all “that takes like 30 seconds.” Maybe the way you do it ya trash. Obviously I'm not going to use what he wrote. What a time it's been. I'll miss this stupid joke that I do where I write nonsense in the notes. I'll hopefull do it on the new show too. Won't be the same though. Well here's the lame stuff Nar wrote. This is the last episode of Pokemon GO Radio, and we have some big feels about it. If you like the podcast, fear not, we are transitioning to a new show called “Bonus Episode” where we will cover a broad range of topics, including some PoGO from time to time. On our last show we talk about the good times, the hard times, and all the amazing people that helped make this thing happen. We are so excited for the future and proud of the past.

Was that a “good ” title? No. Probably not. But I am selflessly doing the edits again. It's a hard life pulling your own weight. Nar is on a little vacay and I'm being a noble big brother. Still not putting those links in though. Just go back to episode 254. Would it be just as easy to go find the links as to type this long winded explanation? Yeah probably so. Man you are full of questions today one-person-on-earth-that-actually-reads-these.
We did! You did it. High-fives all around. What an amazing achievement of returning to something. This week was a ton of news, not least of which was the return to the 40 meter distance requirement to interact with stops and gyms. Normally I would list the rest of the news in breezy summary and put the links below, but I'm le tired. This is probs why Nar doesn't let me write these anymore.
For the first time in a long time, it was a slow news week in Pokemon GO. We had a few events cooking (Eevee Community Day and Ultra Unlock Part 2), but overall it was a quite week.
