2025 Rerun Notes: In anticipation of this month's incoming C1E99: "Listener Picks - vol 3", we are rerunning both previous installments of the Listener Picks trilogy this month! Today's rerun is the second installment, from December of 2021 And it is less of a sequel per se, and more of an omake (that is, more of an "outtakes" episode). While vol 1 was 40 tracks long and selected by 18 contributors, their total body of contributions was not 40, but instead, an absolutely insane 100!! Well, even in 2025, we'd never do an episode 100 tracks long! Such a mixtape could possibly hit 5hrs long, which is too long even for St. John! :-D So, what I did instead in 2018 was take the 100 and narrow it down to 40, with the 60 track remainder kept in reserve, intended for a Channel F "F-isode" to immediately follow as a bonus and feature the remaining 60. This bonus was to feature Trey Johnson of the NintenDomain and W.A.R.T. Radio podcasts as co-host, and be in the original format of W.A.R.T. Radio as a "return the favor" tribute to Trey in return for W.A.R.T. changing formats to match the NNR format. It was also going to feature an interview with a composer, spearheaded by Trey. But schedules did not align, and so the F-isode never happened! Today's rerun, eventually released years later in 2021 as a numbered "official" Ch 1 episode is essentially what that F-isode would've been - only with no interview (scheduling conflicts). Trey would still go on to co-host with me, though. Lastly, as always: all the usual caveats about how much worse my production quality was back in 2021 than it is today, and not to judge the current state of NNR production quality by this rerun. If you are new, and this is your first exposure to NNR, and you enjoyed the content, but were put off by the production, either go back and listen to a recent episode, such as C1E98 or C1E96....or perhaps even better, keep your eyes peeled for C1E99, which is basically this all over again, but at 2025's far improved production quality standards! In fact, in this case, the situation is even worse! My side of the recording session with Trey was lost, and so we had to fallback on his side of the Zoom call for my voice, where I was using a super cheap wireless headset. So my voice quality sounds especially terrible. My apologies if any of that detracts from this otherwise excellent and joyous outing! And with that, please enjoy the very non-standard-formatted - Listener Picks - vol 2, thanks again to Trey for lending his voice and talents in joining me to make this one happen, and please keep an eye out for the trilogy's incoming 3rd (and final) installment! Cheers! -------------------------------------------------------------- Original Show Notes: Today's Broadcast is C1E60, for Theme Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 - our final episode of our very non-standard two-year long “Season 4”. So it is fitting that we'd end such a wildly non-standard season - filled with primarily wildly non-standard content already - with such a dramatically non-standard Channel 1 episode. Today's episode abandons the customary Channel 1 “great big music block” mixtape format for a modified take on the original W.A.R.T. Radio format, featuring Trey Johnson of Nintendomain / W.A.R.T. Radio and St. John. Today's episode is also a “Lost Level”, as it was originally intended to be a Channel F bonus “F-isode” to supplement “C1E40 - Listener Picks - vol. 1” from December 2018, and was intended to release right after it, in a nearly identical presentation to what you receive today. As such, today's broadcast shall be “Listener Picks - vol. 2”. All music, other than the background music for the speaking portions was curated by listeners of the show, and are the roughly 60 remaining unused tracks from the pool of roughly 100 that were offered up for C1E40 in 2018, of which only 40 were used. p.s. We apologize for the uncharacteristically poor audio quality on St. John's speaking voice. Details available upon request, but the short version is that John had technical difficulties on his end of the recording with "the good mic", but fortunately, we had a lower-quality backup recording on Trey's end over Zoom using St. John's built-in laptop mic. The sound quality is diminished, but the content is still preserved. Welcome to Episode 147 of Nintendo Therapy, your weekly dive into Nintendo news, rumors, and everything happening across the worlds of Hyrule, the Mushroom Kingdom, and beyond. This week we kick things off with the big story: Nintendo finally released official photos of the live-action Zelda movie, and reactions are all over the place. Kevin talks through why Zelda is such a tough series to adapt into a film in the first place — from its puzzle-driven structure to its constantly shifting art styles — and why live-action may box the franchise into something it was never meant to be. We also get into the big questions: Will Link talk? Will the movie rely on Marvel-style climaxes? And can any adaptation really capture exploration and discovery the way the games do?Harrison shares his first impressions as well, including why he's hopeful but cautious, how the film can stand out in a crowded fantasy landscape, and why practical effects would've made a huge difference. We wrap up our Zelda talk with thoughts on how Nintendo Studios is positioning itself, what the future might hold, and whether the franchise is headed toward TV rather than film. From there, we jump into our weekly game segment, “Guess Which Year This Black Friday Deal Is From?”, where we revisit wild Wii doorbusters, classic 3DS bundles, and the nostalgic chaos of early Switch holiday ads. That leads straight into our massive Black Friday 2025 Nintendo deals roundup, covering the best Switch 2 discounts, surprisingly deep price drops on Switch 1 titles, standout eShop specials, and collector-friendly physical releases. We highlight the biggest bargains, the strangest markdowns, and which deals are likely to get even better over the holiday weekend. We also take a closer look at the unusual release schedule for late 2025 and early 2026. With a big 6–8 week gap after December 11th, we talk about why Nintendo might be holding back, what shadow-drops or remasters could fill the space, and what to expect from the almost-certain January Nintendo Direct. From potential Zelda remasters and Xenoblade ports to Switch 2 upgrade patches for major first-party games, there are a lot of possibilities for how Nintendo might keep momentum going into the new year. This episode also features our spotlight section covering two standout Genesis titles: Vectorman and Pulseman. We dig into why Vectorman still looks so good today, how Sega pulled off its “vector piece” animation tricks, and why its late-era Genesis style has aged into something retro-cool. Then we jump to Game Freak's electric platformer Pulseman — a game released in the U.S. only through the Sega Channel — and explore its fast movement, anime-influenced identity, experimental mechanics, and the early design DNA that eventually carried over into Pokémon. We wrap up with some final thoughts on the Zelda movie and a look at the surprise shadow-drop of Tomb Raider 2013 on the eShop, which sparks a conversation about what other remasters might be quietly waiting in the wings.Nintendo Therapy is part of the Sidepanel Network, and you can also catch Harrison's weekly show on Harrison Talks Pod. Thanks for hanging out with us — and feel free to drop your Zelda movie hopes, fears, or jokes in the comments.
Episode 196 – Special Conditions (Pokémon TCG) In This Meta Shouldn't Be This Open… But It Is, Adam, Justin, and Lane dive into how strangely wide-open the Pokémon TCG feels right now—on both the tabletop and Pokémon TCG Live. Lane talks about grinding the ladder while waiting for Phantasmal Flames legality, hunting for underpriced singles, and falling in love with one-prize decks again. Adam shares stories from vending at New England Cardhouse, getting showered in DeliBirds, and chasing graded Mega-era cardboard on a budget, while Justin recaps Collect-A-Con Fort Worth, the surprise dominance of One Piece, and finally snagging a long-time grail Skyridge Arcanine for the binder. From there, the crew breaks down results from the Smart Series charity event and why the top decks prove this meta “shouldn't” be this open, but absolutely is. They highlight the wild Festival Grounds / Seaking list that surged into third, multiple takes on Goldengo EX (including off-the-wall techs like Picnic Basket), and the brainy Alakazam / Dunsparce Psychic Draw engine that can one-shot while drawing a fresh hand. Lane then spotlights his new favorite rogue: a Conkeldurr “Gutsy Swing” one-prizer that swings for huge damage while effectively ignoring its own energy costs. To close things out, the hosts swap Phantasmal Flames pre-release stories, talk about new event software headaches, and celebrate some seriously spicy Charizard and Toxtricity pulls. They also chat about starter decks, trainer toolkits, and why dollar binders might secretly be the best way into the format right now. If you like card shows, rogue lists, and metas where almost anything feels playable, this episode is your jam. 00:02:15 – Waiting on Phantasmal Flames meta & Live ladder grind00:04:30 – DeliBird cosplay, Mega DeliBird hunt & $2 bird pickups00:08:00 – Vending at New England Cardhouse & ranking local shows00:12:00 – Collect-A-Con Fort Worth: Skyridge Arcanine grail acquired00:18:00 – One Piece everywhere & discovering the Life TCG bird game00:24:00 – Smart Series charity event results & Festival Grounds Seaking00:31:00 – Goldengo EX deck talk: techs, Picnic Basket, and matchups00:36:00 – Alakazam / Dunsparce Psychic Draw engine spotlight00:40:00 – Hydration break & Patreon thank-yous00:41:00 – Conkeldurr “Gutsy Swing” one-prize deck breakdown00:50:00 – Mega Absol toolbox, Monkey Dory spreads & open meta talk00:54:00 – Phantasmal Flames pre-release stories & big Charizard pulls01:00:00 – Starter decks, toolkits, dollar binders & Poké Ball reverses01:04:00 – Charizard UPC, Chinese Arcanine tease & outro
Lured Up Podcast 372: Spending With Reckless Abandon Live Streamed on - 11/18/25 Publish Date - 11/21/25 What an incredible month of gameplay we are getting. Since the level cap increase, the game and community have felt alive and well, with excitement, motivation, and dedication flowing all around us. We recap our last week of gameplay through Into The Wild, the Silver Bottlecap, and finally, with Wild Area:Global. Adam was able to make the most of his limited gameplay and Raided from the toilet, while Ken was able to get 16 hours of core gameplay in Red Bank and Philly. The Community Celebration Event in Philly was incredible. It somehow captured the magic of a much larger IRL event like GO Fest, in a City Safari like setting. Niantic may really be on to something here, as these events capture the magic of a large event, while being powered by local communities, which sets a unique tone for the gameplay. Nearly 1,500 Trainers checked in on Campfire and Raid Trains packed with a few hundred Trainers were marching through the city for the entirety of the event. A group of creators was able to meetup at the event to bring their individual styles of gameplay and content to the community. We take a look at each of the featured creators, and highly recommend you check them out and give them a follow. There is some real magic to be had when you combine core gameplay, and creators that like to get their hands dirty on the grind. We have a few remaining events in November, with High Voltage keeping us busy until this weekend's DMAX Eevee Max Battle Weekend. With Eevee only being Tier 2, most Trainers will have no problem taking it down. Lured Up Podcast 371 Live Streamed on - 11/10/2025 Publish Date - 11/14/2025 Pokémon GO has been treating Trainers pretty well since the Leveling update. Great events, new Pokémon and Shiny releases all delivered in a balanced and manageable cadence. We recap how great the events have been with the Halloween double feature, then Enchanted Hollow, and now Into The Wild. Things have been cooking, and the gameplay has been great, all leading up to GO Wild Area, which happened in Nagasaki, Japan last week and globally, this week. The news cycle remains packed, with information on November and December Community Days, the debut of DMAX Eevee, and even the save-the-dates for next season. It seems that while the game and product teams may fumble sometimes, generally, the game has been feeling great. This weekend brings us GO Wild Area: Global, and GO HUb has put together a really great event guide that touches on just about every corner of the two day event. It lays out strategies for everything from box maintenance to sunscreen.GMAX Grimsnarl will be on most Trainer's radar during the event, so we put together a little MAX Battle Party for it. Ken will be attending the Niantic Community Celebration on Sunday, November 16th in Philadelphia, along with a group of incredibly talented creators! Check out the flyer at LuredUp.com! Our final discussion of the episode is about how Pokémon GO Communities can be a catalyst of community action. We talk about ways that even small communities can leverage Campfire and other tools to support those around them. Ken will be working with some great Community Ambassadors to host food drives to support the local community. Find Ken at the event to donate or learn how you can help! Lured Up Podcast 370: They Were All Trash Live Streamed on - 11/4/2025 Publish Date - 11/7/2025 The last two weeks of Pokémon GO gameplay have been in peak form! The level rebalance kicked off a reinvigoration of the community, and the game has come through with some great events to keep Trainers busy. We recap the Halloween event and how with new Pokémon, new Shinies, an amazing Sinistea Spotlight Hour and GMAX Garbodor, things are rocking and rolling. We also touch on how having a weekend off is actually a good thing, and helps Trainers recover from the onslaught of events that we have been used to recently. November is upon us however, and there is a lot to look forward to. There is also a lot to spend money on as we stack up your options, including 2 GO Passes, a bunch of event tickets, and of course the GO Wild Area. Storage increases, consumables, and Raid Passes will be flowing over Global's weekend, so it is best to go in prepared. Keep a lookout for deals and buy the bundles that fit your needs. Also, if you will be in the Philly area for Global, hit up Ken! There were a few miscellaneous tidbits this week like the Nagasaki Poke Lid Stamp Rally and the Black Friday Sale. November seems to be a packed month but does actually have some empty weekends. Perhaps with the free time you may want to look ahead to Chicago, as there is plenty to plan for with GO Fest looming. With the diversity of Chicago's downtown, you have vastly different environments available to stay in. Just remember, that there are over 50,000 Trainers thinking the same thing. Send us a textThis week,Masterful 27, Ian Waterfall, and special guest host Ayyylexa dive headfirst into all things Halloween and Pokémon GO!
In this episode, Chris and Jamal break down Niantic's latest Wayfarer AMA — and ask the big question: did we actually learn anything new? The hosts review key updates like the upcoming Wayfarer Map and Web Submissions, giving Wayfinders more control to view, filter, and submit nominations directly online. They also discuss the return of “Generic Business” rejections, the promise of better reviewer education in 2026, and the ongoing mystery behind that claimed 99% accuracy rate. It's not all bad news — the Wayfarer Map looks genuinely exciting — but much of the AMA reads like “we're still exploring.” The crew dives into what Niantic got right, what still feels like PR filler, and how the community has reacted so far. Tune in as we separate what's progress, what's promise, and what's just… more waiting. Plus, don't miss: ✅ Spatial / Scopely News ✅ The AMA Answers ✅Was it effective ✅ Wayspots / Coal of the Week ✅ Dad Jokes (naturally)

Lured Up Podcast 369 Live Streamed on -10/29/25 Publish Date - 10/31/25 The two-part Halloween Event is just about a wrap, and we're sure everyone's storage is packed with costume Pokémon that need to be transferred. This year brought a nice blend of new and previously released costumes, the Shiny Hunt played perfectly into the Halloween spirit. Sinister Spotlight Hour was one of the most exciting in a long time, and it was a blast looking for Antique forms on top of the grind. After having the rare weekend off last week, this weekend brings GMAX Garbodor which we will get you prepared for thanks to a Max Battle Guide and Battle Party. We take a look at GO Hub and Pokebattler and lay out our teams, with Ken going for defense and Adam on the attack. Let us know who you will be bringing to take on GMAX Garbodor and how you do with the event! Looking out into November we have the Enchanted Hollow and Into the Wild Events on the calendar. November's GO Pass brings back the Lucky Trinket, which seems to be the most popular reward to the Community. We suggest planning to do a lot of raids during Into the Wild, so you should start looking into boxes of passes now, and stay away from the impulse buys in the moment during the event. The hot Community topic of the week is brought to you by all the silly Trainers online that are flexing their clearly manipulated Level 80 screenshots. Not only was the internet not impressed, but they were also foaming at the mouth with anger! We discuss the impact of how cheaters can influence motivation of even the most diehard content creators, and the trickle down effect it has on their audience. It's a slippery slope but we love to see the passion. Here's to hoping Niantic slash Scopely's anti-cheat measures do their job! This week, Jamal and Chris dive into one of the most unexpected Wayfarer updates we've seen in a while — Niantic's new “Street Corner and Bus Stop Experiment” happening in France, Italy, and Spain. The guys break down: What these new “Niantic-generated” Wayspots mean for the Wayfarer system. Whether this is a bug, a test, or a hint of a larger criteria change. How this experiment could affect reviewers and nominators, especially when it comes to “generic” locations or player expectations for quality and significance. The potential upside for rural and low-density areas, which could benefit from more accessible PokéStops and gameplay opportunities. And, of course, what safeguards Niantic might need to prevent spam or confusion in the review queue. They also cover this week's Wayfarer news, including reports that Emily may be down again. Lured Up Podcast 368 Live Streamed on - 10/21/25 Publish Date - 10/24/25 Pokémon Trainers everywhere are torn between Legends Z-A on Switch and the Level 80 grind in Pokémon GO! Luckily for PGO Trainers, the Legends Z-A Event gave us some slight crossover to scratch the itch. It was Mega Rayquaza Raid Day however, that brought the Trainers out over the weekend. Communities everywhere were putting in big numbers to take down the Sky High Pokémon. With Raid numbers like we are seeing, we can only imagine what Mega Dragonite or Mega Mewtwo will do. Spooky Season is officially here with the return of the Halloween Event, which brings a little bit of everything over the rest of the month. New Pokémon, new Shinies, and new Costumes will fill our inventories as we continue our push to the upper levels. We check in on our progress and share some best practices for some of the initial tasks to complete after Level 70. We still have plenty of time in October, but we already have the November Content Update which of course includes the Wild Area. This event has proven to be exciting and a fantastic draw for Communities. We have a feeling that GMAX Grimmsnarl will keep us on the grind along with Shadow Darkrai. The Wild Area hype can only be bested by one thing, GO Fest hype. The local Fox news affiliate in Chicago dropped a bombshell that Pokémon GO will be returning to Grant Park in 2026 with the option of 2027. We are VERY excited for this announcement as Grant Park provided an incredible backdrop for GO Fest, with great terrain, views, and a straightforward layout. The City Experience element will bring new experiences for Trainers, and we have plenty of time to prepare. This week in the news: A third Mortal Kombat movie has been confirmed before the second one even hits theaters. Is it studio confidence or a marketing ploy? Halo loses an art director, Assassin's Creed loses a boss, and a group of former Zenimax Online Studios staffers form their own new team. Bungie is still working on Marathon and plans to have a closed technical test in the near future. Will the extraction shooter find a place or suffer Sony's wrath? Phasmo has a new map on the way but it just misses the Halloween window. And another leak hits Game Freak and reportedly reveals all currently planned projects. In games this week: Baka's Henry in Kingdom Come Deliverance is not a great person but it's not always on purpose. And Grif can't stop thinking about Baka while playing the Saints Row 2022 reboot. All this and much more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!
A new Pokémon game managed to surprise us this week as we discuss Pokémon Legends: Z-A with guests Jeremy Franklin and Austin Young. On this week's Random Encounter, we are catching 'em all and beating 'em up!When Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released in 2022, it signalled a newer, more experimental type of Pokémon game. Now, Game Freak is back with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the second entry in the Legends series. With a new real-time combat system, an urban environment, and giant Pokémon battles, Z-A looks like it promises everything that fans have wanted from the series, but does it pull it off? Niki has some thoughts! And then, Bob is here to chat about the new roguelike beat-'em-up RPG Absolum. It's been a long time since there was any real innovation in the beat-'em-up genre, but with a stunning animated art style, exploration, RPG mechanics, and a roguelike structure, Absolum might just be the most interesting beat-'em-up in years. Send us a textThis week,We break down one of the most chaotic updates in recent Pokémon GO history! The brand-new Weekly Challenges feature launched… and then promptly broke the game. From login loops to forced reinstalls, the feature was live for only a few short hours before Niantic pulled the plug. In true Incensed! fashion, the lads ask: What even were these challenges meant to be—and do we actually care if they come back? Then, the hosts tackle a massive news drop — the long-awaited Level 80 update! The Trainer Challenges from Level 71 to 80 have finally been revealed, and it turns out you'll only need 203 million XP to max out, but will have an eternity of tedious tasks. Is this an exciting new grind or an over-the-top challenge for the elite few? Expect honest takes, plenty of laughs, and some spicy opinions as they debate the future of Pokémon GO progression.Plus, Milo hosts “Play Your Dex Right: Left or Right Edition”, the returning fan-favourite guessing game with a twist. This week, Jamal and Chris dive into the latest Wayfarer updates and tackle some spicy community topics head-on. They discuss Tintino's long-awaited post about test Wayspots in France, Italy, and Spain, and the recent Pokémon GO level rebalance that (thankfully) didn't change Wayfarer access. The boys also revisit last week's conversation about the Wayfarer forums — clarifying their stance on why sometimes it's best for new Explorers to “lurk before you leap.” They call for more tact and positivity from community voices (including Ambassadors), and suggest a new space where players can safely ask the Wayfarer team questions without being dogpiled by forum regulars. Then it's on to the big topic of the week: AMA Questions! Chris and Jamal go through some of the most interesting submissions before voting closes — and offer their own thoughts on what they'd like to see answered. Plus, don't miss: ✅ Spatial / Scopely News ✅ The AMA Questions ✅ Wayspots / Coal of the Week ✅ Dad Jokes (naturally)
Lured Up Podcast Live Streamed on - 10/15/25 Publish Date - 10/17/25 The wait for the Level 80 rebalance made October 15th one of the longest days ever. From little to no communication from Niantic, Trainers had no clear answer as to when the rebalance would happen. As the day went on patience grew thin, the anger started boiling over, and the crash outs began. Finally, at around 4pm ET the update launched and the community took a deep breath and focused on the path ahead. The last week of gameplay included the Harvest Festival and Solosis Community Day, which gave Trainers some fun and varied gameplay. Mossy Lures covered the gameboard and the events and bonuses stacking made for an awesome Sunday. Even with the failed launch of Weekly Challenges, many Trainers had an awesome time playing over the weekend. The Legends Z-A event hits this week, and the event is a bit lackluster. While it does bring a branching Timed Research, this event on paper seems to be a bit slower than what we have been used to lately. This weekend however, brings the return of Mega Rayquaza which will surely bring Trainers out. We look to Pokebattler and GO Hub to put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party.pro-tip, bring Ice. We close things out with a discussion around November's Into The WIld event. With an event ticket and it's own GO Pass, it begs the question of how much is too much. The overlapping spending opportunities press our ability to say no, especially when the Silver Bottle Cap is part of the rewards for the Deluxe GO Pass. Let us know what you thing, not just about the amount of event tickets, but the newer trend of overlapping GO Passes, which may put some Trainers over budget. Sony lays out its future, while Pokémon's future got leaked all over the internet. New York Comic Con brought the trailers, making it a definite competitor to SDCC. Plus IGN Fan fest was in full effect today with some great new, like a Bob-It video game! Plus a full review of Tron: Ares, is it bad, is it good, or is it just there...
I liked the title The Freak Leak, but then who would click on it? GameFreak had a leak. It was possibly an old school phishing scheme, which is sort of hilarious. That leak did tell us what games they are working on for the coming five years or so, but that isn't what we are interested in - two guess what it the games are though lol. No they leaked GameFreak budgets and earnings for the last several games, and what that tells us is pretty interesting.
In today's Daily Fix:Last year's massive server breach at Pokémon developer Game Freak is still providing fresh leaks of info. A new dump of leaked material not only provided early looks at the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but also details on unannounced projects and even new Pokémon species. The leaks also suggest the new Gen 11 games are aiming to be released in 2030. In other news, Microsoft is adamant that they're not giving up on console hardware by showing off the lab where the ROG Xbox Ally X was tested, and where the next generation Xbox is being prototyped. And finally, Call of Duty co-creator Vince Zampella spoke with GQ, reflecting on his career and admitting that CoD only exists because "EA were dicks."

Lured Up Podcast 366 - Find Your Way Live Streamed on - 10/7/25 Publish Date - 10/10/25 It's another news heavy week as Niantic continues to pump out blog after blog. With the last week including Mega Metagross and DMAX Duraludon, many Trainers had an active and busy weekend of gameplay and it doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon. This next week brings us the Harvest Festival, which if Trainers want to make the most of, will put the GO Plus+ on the back burner and require faces to be in front of screens. This is a great technique by Niantic to get Trainers re-engaged with focused gameplay. GMAX Grimmsnarl has been announced for the GO Wild Area, as the event keeps getting stronger and stronger. This event has cemented its place in the annual major event lineup and is getting the features and releases to back that up. Hopefully we will see significant differentiation between it and other events like GO Fest or GO Tour. Perhaps they can deliver a unique experience via a GO Pass or Special Research. We skim over a bunch of events that will arrive in the coming weeks, with the most notable being the return of Mega Rayquaza. This is one of those events that will have the hand of Eternatus reaching into Trainer's pockets and urging them to Raid as much as possible. There aren't too many Pokémon that will bring people out than Rayquaza. Still no word on if we will see any guaranteed Meteorites or how that will work this time around. Wayfarer has detailed their 2025-2026 roadmap, and it looks to become a more personal tool. From monthly recognition emails to the mention of a new Wayfarer map, this is a great time to get involved. We discuss the incredible feeling of having a POI added to the game as well as the agony of defeat when things get rejected. Some Wayfinders consider Wayfarer its own game, and the roadmap is looking to support it with new tools and features. Make sure you check out the Wayspotters Podcast to learn more about how you can get involved! Lured Up Podcast 365 Live Streamed on - 9/30/25 Publish Date - 10/3/2025 When you think about it, this week was completely normal. Wake up, open the game, go to work, come home, go to bed, then repeat. The culture of routines that this game has created provide Trainers with the consistent backbone to their day. As Pokémon GO Trainers, we really do have a unique approach to how we game, with gameplay styles that are diverse and personalized. Being a current Pokémon GO Trainer is a great thing. Mega Camerupt gave IRL Trainers the opportunity to have another day of grinding which could evolve into a Trade Day afterparty. With most events happening on Sundays, it lines up perfectly, but for next Saturday's Meta Metagross Raid Day, we may see the first stand alone Trade Day Campfire events. We can't hype up enough how awesome Trade Days are and how they managed to create a weekly event that pairs perfectly with off screen activities. Looking at the October Calendar, we see a balanced month of events, new releases, and the return of the Halloween Event. Mega Metagross has been a long time coming so we put together a Battle Party and check out Pokebattler and GO Hub to review what counters to bring. Hopefully we see some fun and unique battle parties out there as the Counter list is exceptionally diverse. Let us know what you are bringing! We wrap things up by spending a hypothetical $20 in the webstore and opening a conversation about spending in general. One thing the game does well is to tap into our emotions to influence spending, even when the purchase may not lead to what you want or expect. Impulsive behaviors, FOMO, and so many other factors play a role in how much and how often we spend. Does this give Trainers agency to be an individual, or does it drive Trainers apart? We dig in deep! Special Conditions Podcast Ep. 193 – MEGA EVOLUTION MADNESS In this week's episode of Special Conditions, Adam and Justin dive deep into all things Pokémon TCG — from nostalgic throwbacks to the latest Mega cards hitting the scene. We kick things off with a look at Mega Audino EX from Fates Collide, comparing the old-school Mega Evolution mechanic to the new flashy versions. From there, we explore the brand-new Mega Pokémon set — analyzing artwork, mechanics, and whether these cards will shake up the meta. Check out the official Mega Evolution hub on Pokémon.com here, Justin Basil's full visual list here, and PokéBeach's detailed English card guide here. Of course, we couldn't ignore some strange news… including how the U.S. Department of Homeland Security used Pokémon branding in an ICE raid campaign. Yes, really. Read more about the story and TPCI's official response at PokéBeach Article #1 and PokéBeach Article #2. To wrap it up, we cover product news — like the upcoming Lugia EX and Latias EX Premium Collection (plus the Mimikyu EX and Alcremie EX boxes). Curious why these new stamped promos are stirring debate? Read more at PokéBeach's product preview.
Lured Up Podcast 364 Live Streamed on - 9/23/25 Publish Date - 9/26/25 This week had a first with Scopely retweeting Pokémon GO which reminded Trainers that the Niantic acquisition was completed months ago. With the comments being somewhat tame so far, we inappropriately speculate on if we think the hyper passionate and emotional X mob will give Scopely a fair chance on social, or if the baton will be passed directly to them from Niantic. With the team members being the same, we know the same devs are still pushing the buttons. As for social, particularly NianticHelp, we are yet to see the names and branding flip to reflect Scopely. We know one thing for sure, we hope Scopely is ready to take on PGO social media. We start with a recap of the last week of gameplay including the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over and Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend. While the event pace has slowed down a bit, the Today View is more stacked than ever, with multiple Timed and Special Research stacking on top of each other. With three upcoming weekends of Max Battle and Raid Days, we talk about what kind of value we get from DMAX vs Mega Pokémon. This week brings us Mega Camerupt, followed by DMAX Duraludon releasing along with its Shiny, followed up by Mega Metagross which has been a long time coming. With most Trainers having already invested in good IV Metagross, what appeals to you more: DMAX or Megas? Large scale IRL events are in the news this week as City Safaris in Valencia and Amsterdam are happening this weekend, and a Save-The-Date post was shared for GO Tour. With both of these events having a unique presentation and feel, they compliment GO Fest events well, and promote travel, which is something we feel makes this game so special. No worries if you can't travel, GO Tour Global will be happening one week after the in person event. Finally we wrap up with a conversation about a topic that has been around for a while. Content creators being rude to the developer and claiming that it is constructive criticism. With so many ways to sway a community, and so many avenues as a creator to speak directly to the developer, we question why some on social media insist on slipping in a dig when commenting about the game.
