Michael was regarded as a thought leader in the coaching industry. His work in the Ethics community of ICF (International Coaching Federation) had given him deep insight into the operations of coaching. He was a coach's coach. His passion for growing strong leaders had sat him across the table of risk managers, financial gurus and opinion leaders on thousands of occasions. He believed a client is seeking answers that are findable and deliverable. Action plans will make these solutions realities. He spent 23 of those years in Germany where he worked as a church planter, risk management advisor, and college instructor. Nothing thrilled him more than helping leaders find and fulfill their callings. Michael's calling came together in a mighty way after completing his doctorate in 2010. He then began the transition to full-time online, teaching, consulting, and coaching. Additionally, Michael led the transition of the oldest Christian coaching organization (CCNI) to a non-profit. He was a published author and instructor of ethics, coaching mastery, and was an online professor of international business and finance. He also had led the global ethics community for the International Coach Federation (ICF). Michael had been married to Joy for over 35 years and has two very international children. He lived at 8162 feet in the Elkhead Mountains of Colorado with a dozen sled dogs and golden retriever. https://www.convenenow.com/michaelmarx/

In this episode Dr Natalie Lancer, with Justin Wise and Dr Michael Marx, explores how some coaches integrate faith-based concepts and secular equivalents, including meaning, intuition and a capacity to respond to life's challenges, into their coaching. We learn how religious values, ethics and practices may inform  the work that coaches do with their clients. In this episode, we discuss Christian and Jewish orientations as examples of coaching with faith-based principles. We ask: What is coaching in faith? What if the client is secular or a different religion to the coach? Which religious concepts or secular equivalents, frequently show up in a coaching conversation? Which specific practices drawn from a religious life could be of value in coaching? How can coaching from a faith perspective allow the coachee to develop other stories and perspectives about themselves? How can faith-based thinking help us transcend normative problem-solving in coaching sessions? What can coaching in faith teach us about meaningful ways of living? How can thinking from a faith-based approach towards relationships and communities serve us better? What alternative conceptualisations of life and human beings does religion provide? How can coaching in faith help us recognise our inherent complexity?  Coaching in faith is an often over-looked and rarely acknowledged topic and can offer alternative ways of thinking about common coaching issues. Our guests help us to begin to unpack this potential and explore the possibilities of coaching in faith. Our guests today are: Justin Wise is a coach, educator, founder and faculty member at Thirdspace. He is a graduate of the MSc in People and Organisation Development at the Roffey Park Institute, UK and holds first-class postgraduate degrees from both Cambridge University and University College London. He has been an accredited Integral Development Coach (New Ventures West / Thirdspace) since 2008 and holds the PCC Credential from the International Coaching Federation. "Doctor Fred Says..."  Topic: Effects of pharmaceuticals on auto immune disorders, with guest Dr. Michael Marx;  "My name is Michael J. Marx NMD, Ph.D , I have worked all around the world as well as all every state in the US (Congo Africa, Ethiopia Africa, India, just to name a few). I attended Baylor and ASU and I am a Board Certified Naturopathic Medical Doctor, specialized in Immunology. Upon my graduation in 2000 I was offered a job that changed my life, I had the pleasure of traveling the world not just treating patients but learning from them as well. In 2007 I was told that I have an Auto-Immune Disorder that was brought on by environmental factors. So rather then look at life as a death sentence, I took it by the horns and decided that I was not going to be another casualty to "BIG PHARMA ". I was told that I only had nine months left to my life. As a father, husband and doctor I was not going to give up at that point and my wife and I decided to start our own wellness clinic to give patients a choice in alternative medical care. We advise and teach our patient's that healing is not just writing scripts or pushing medications, but rather show them that there are options from Natural Medical Doctors as well". Dr. Fred Valdes is a resident of Florida and at present is teaching part-time at a medical school near Miami. His respect of Moringa has led him to join with Zija Int'l and Club Moringa.
