I want you all to meet Monaé Everett. She's launched "The Monaé Life" online academy specifically for hairstylists, teaching how to style for editorials, celebrities and styling for all hair textures. Today she's here to share with you how she works on-set in editorial shoots and with celebrities, and how this has transferred into her creating an online academy. A US hairstylist based in New York, Monaé's work can be seen across Americas media and leading fashion publications. Along with this she has worked with many celebs ranging from Taraji P Henson to the Williams sisters to Daniella Perkins for networks including Nickelodeon and Disney. In this episode you'll hear how Monaé success has been carved out by her both finding and knowing her niche – something that I believe we all need to find – as a hairstylist who works on all hair textures. Using this all-round hair talent and embracing digital media, she initially started her grounding to online education by uploading her videos to YouTube. She soon expanded this by creating her online academy – something that may inspire you to do similar. I'm really impressed by Monaé's story – how she saw an opportunity to use her experience to start an online academy, grabbed it, and turned in to a valuable source of teaching on how to style hair for editorials, celebrities and all hair textures. No matter your hairdressing passion, it’s an inspiring example for anyone curious about doing an online academy in a unique niche in hairdressing. Listen and enjoy!
