Hey friend! Have you ever wondered what what REALLY goes into having a well styled home - like all those pretty pictures you see on Instagram or Pinterest? Yes...cohesiveness matters. Yes...being in tune with your design style is important. Yes...finding and buying the right things can pull a room together. What's really at the heart of a well styled home? These 5 elements: 1. Proportion/scale/balance: Not too big, not too small. Things that fit and fit appropriately from ground up, wall inward. 2. Textured lighting: Forget the overhead lighting and opt for layered lighting - table lamps and floor lamps that work harmoniously to cast a cozy glow. 3. Layers & texture: intentionality in home design is ensconced in all the layers! 4. Repetition: the goldilocks rule applies here. Not too much repetition and not too little - just enough. The more subtle the repetition of design elements the better! 5. Negative space: even artists and photographers employ the idea of having negative space in their compositions. The same is true in our homes. Negative space allows your home to shine with all of the intentional decisions you've made. Join THE COLLECTIVE Have a question YOU want answered on the show? This month I am going to be using a prompt list to encourage myself to keep a regular garden journal again. This has been inspired by Inktober which is an art challenge where participants sketch something in ink, every day for the month of October. There is an official list, but I have created my own. I am calling this challenge Inktober in the Garden. Each prompt is just one word related to gardens and gardening and is aimed to get us thinking in different ways about the beauty of our cultivated space. Here is the list:1. Pollinator; 2. Fruit; 3. Scented; 4. Germinate; 5. Wild; 6. Sun; 7. Growth; 8. Mulch; 9. Tendril; 10. Water; 11. Sow; 12. Flower; 13. Soil; 14. Shade; 15. Cultivated; 16. Climbing; 17. Root; 18. Invertebrate; 19. Companion; 20. Textured; 21. Supported; 22. Leaf; 23. Herb; 24. Seed; 25. Insect; 26. Weed; 27. Compost; 28. Tools; 29. Seedling; 30 Pod; 31. Harvest. If you would like to join me, you can use each prompt or just dip into the ones that inspire you the most. I would love to see your pages! If you are on social media you can use the hashtag #inktoberinthegarden or you can email me your pages at bethan@journalingwithnature.com. If you don't have a garden, you can use the prompts to get inspired by your local park or green space. I have created a blog post with this information. You can find it here: Inktober in the Garden. I am also excited to share the news that I have opened my online store! In this podcast, we're going to talk about one of the worst protein sources in the world. After having a horrible reaction to some “chicken wings” that I ate, I called to find out what was in them. It turns out they were plant-based chicken wings made with textured vegetable protein. Textured vegetable protein, or textured soy protein, is the worst protein in the world. Soy or cottonseed is used as the “vegetable” to make this protein. Textured vegetable protein was invented in 1960 as a way to use the waste produced from seed oils. It has been used in veggie burgers, fake meat products, cereals, and many other food products. Textured vegetable protein is an ultra-processed ingredient. To make it, oil, nutrients, and fiber are removed from the soybean using heat and chemicals like hexane. There are no long-term safety studies or upper limit on hexane established by the FDA. Chronic hexane toxicity is a condition caused by inhaling hexane, so what happens when you ingest it? Over 95% of textured vegetable protein is GMO, and when consumed, it robs nutrients from your liver. It's very similar to soy protein isolates. Any time you consume pure protein without fat, you are creating stress in your body, especially if the protein doesn't contain key nutrients like fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, and K. I can't emphasize enough the fact that breast implant illness remains to be a topic that's not often talked about by many, especially in the medical community, despite its several effects. Usually, women undergo explant surgery in an effort to heal their breast implants. Today, we'll be talking about the link between breast implants and cancer and I hope you learn more about breast implant illness as we continue to delve into the symptoms, latest surgical techniques for exploitation, and the recovery process for breast implant illness in my podcast series. Different cancers associated with breast implants associated with anaplastic lymphoma Following the premise that there aren't a lot of research studies about breast implant illness, what many people don't know is that there are different cancers associated with breast implants. One of the kinds of cancer associated with breast implants is anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) which is a rare type of blood cancer. Textured implants have a very rough surface that was meant to help hold the implant in place, but it is supremely irritating to the tissues. This causes a T cell response which can ultimately lead to this lymphoma. There are studies regarding this condition as early as 2008. In fact, there's a study in the Netherlands that was conducted wherein patients had textured implants and they observed that there was a development of lymphoma. This was further supported by more diagnoses in the United States where cases of anaplastic large cell lymphoma were recorded yearly. There's a new entity called breast implant associated squamous cell carcinoma (BIA-SCC) which has been found as a very rare tumor that may appear in the capsule around the breast implants. There is limited data on this but medical organizations and institutions are pushing for increased clinical awareness and more evidence-based studies regarding this. From our previous episodes, we've talked about the correlation of inflammation and breast implant illness. Inflammation fundamentally and directly causes or triggers the development of these other cancers associated with breast implants. Are you on a journey to healing and wellness but unsure of where to turn? Look no further than Dr. Rob's Solutions. Textured implants are becoming a problem which is why many markets have stopped the production of textured devices. In Europe, the US and even other countries, they have already limited the usage of textured devices. The traditional way of using smooth round implants in performing breast augmentation remains to be the best recommendation. If you're overwhelmed or unsure in your journey to healing and wellness, look no further – Dr. Rob's Solutions is here. We fully understand the unique challenges that come with breast implant illness. We offer a wide range of products and services from the highest grade supplements to comprehensive lab testing to aid you in your journey to recovery. Our supplements are specially formulated to support detoxification while our medical grade skincare products are designed to nourish and protect the skin. We also offer comprehensive lab testing to help identify any underlying health issues that may be contributing to your symptoms. And for those who are ready and planning to undergo an explant surgery, we have the Holistic Accelerated Recovery Program (HARP) if you're interested. This will help you further understand how your unique body can accelerate and optimize healing. Don't let the uncertainty and confusion of breast implant illness hold you back any longer. Trust the experts at Dr. Rob's Solutions to provide you with the resources and support you need to take control of your health and wellness. How do we safely evaluate and monitor these patients as part of our practice? First things first, we look for any pre-existing conditions like autoimmune disorders or anything that would affect the immune system and aggravate the current condition of the individual. If someone has a pre-existing cancer condition, we have to closely look at that. But breast cancers are different from lymphomas and as of date, we haven't seen nor recorded any case of such. From my experience with lymphoma, it's safe to conclude that it's really necessary to provide intense care for the patient. Many devices have a rupture rate that increases over time but thankfully, the devices produced now have more longevity. We have to safely evaluate and monitor these patients. And as part of my oncology practice and cosmetic practice, I always encourage patients to do follow-up care involving regular medical checkups whether a few weeks or months after as a routine. If we needed ultrasound or whatever test was necessary, we'd use that to better characterize both the health of the patient and device. From a structural standpoint, we want to know that it's intact. And so, everything becomes challenging not just for the providers but also for the clients who want to have these procedures done for whatever purpose. Like what I always say, there has to be a clear discussion and review of relevant information such as their health history, their family's health history, and other potential correlations between the development of these cancers or breast cancer for that matter. Personally, I make use of functional genetics in crafting individualized plans for our patients and I suggest that we should leverage genetics whenever possible. And I hope that in the future, that is the way we'll be able to address and evaluate potential risks for these cancers developing in patients and put everybody in the best possible position for success. HT1840 - Textured Paper One of the reasons I like folios, chapbooks, and other handheld photographic media is because of the tactile sense of texture that can come through with certain papers. But tactile texture is not the only texture: we can also have visual texture, which is often the only texture that can be realized in a framed print on the wall. I'm not against the vegan diet. But there are some key tips to follow if you're trying to do keto as a vegan. A vegan diet can still be an unhealthy diet. It's crucial to ensure you're getting the nutrients you need no matter what diet you're on. Some of the top things to avoid if you're vegan are: • Textured vegetable protein • Soy protein isolates • Fake meat • High-fructose corn syrup • Gluten Certain nutrients are easy to get on a vegan diet. But, it's difficult to get vitamin B12, selenium, iron, zinc, vitamin A, and vitamin D if you eat a vegan diet. It's also difficult to get omega-3 fatty acids and amino acids if you're vegan. If you're going to do a vegan version of the ketogenic diet, you need to go beyond just lowering your carbs and consuming high amounts of fat and a moderate amount of protein. You also really need to focus on getting the nutrients you need. If you're going to consume grains, you want to consume grains that are gluten-free, including: • Oats • Quinoa • Millet • Teff • Buckwheat You can also consume products made with almond flour. But keep in mind that when you consume grains, nuts, or legumes, you need to germinate them first to get rid of anti-nutrients. Top vegan, keto-friendly foods to include in your diet: • Nutritional yeast (non-fortified) • Sauerkraut (raw version) • Raw wheatgrass juice powder • Spirulina • Seaweed or sea kelp • Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, or red palm oil • Carrots • Squash • Bell peppers • Leafy greens • Nuts • Hummus • Avocados You may also want to take taurine, an important amino acid, as a supplement to help avoid issues ranging from anxiety to gallstones.

Tinnitus is ringing in the ears, and it can drive a person crazy. Today I want to cover some tips to get rid of tinnitus naturally. Tinnitus is a little bit mysterious and hasn't been fully figured out. Typical treatments for tinnitus are medications called Gabapentin and Klonopin. These two medications both have a mechanism to increase GABA in the brain. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter and slows down the central nervous system. An interesting study shows that people with tinnitus may have lowered GABA and upregulated glutamate. Glutamate stimulates the brain. The problem with GABA supplements is that they don't cross the blood-brain barrier. This means they will have a difficult time penetrating into the brain to create any effect. However, an amino acid called taurine turns into GABA and can pass the blood-brain barrier. Just be sure to take taurine on an empty stomach. In addition to increasing GABA, it's essential to inhibit glutamate. MSG and aspartame are high in glutamate, so it's important to avoid foods containing these ingredients. Other sources of glutamate to avoid: • Hydrolyzed protein • Calcium caseinate • Yeast extract • Textured protein • Whey protein • Soy protein isolates • Soy sauce DATA: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti... https://www.tinnitusformula.com/libra... https://www.truthinlabeling.org/names... https://www.lifeextension.com/magazin...
