The Motor Maids in Fair Japan
You are worthy now ~ To the Fair Motormaids of Japan (26 October 2017 - Madison, WI)
Escuchar audio

John and Mark chat with Sandra Hinksman, VP of the Motor Maids. Te Motor Maids is a women's motorcycle club in North America with over 1,200 members from the United States and Canada. Established in 1940, Motor Maids was one of the first women's motorcycle groups and has been called the oldest existing women's club in the United States. This Podcast is particularly special to us as Barbara Wilkins, one of our founders and current teammate, started in motorcycling in the same era as Motor Maids. Strong, empowered women have always been a part of Wilkins Harley-Davidson. Tune in to learn more about the history of this progressive organization. The Motor Maids We would love it if you would rate our podcast with an honest review. We recently enjoyed one of our first negative reviews of our podcast and we appreciate the listener's insight, of course he unsubscribed so he won't see this. :) #MotorMaids #TheMotorMaids

In this episode of Talking Motorcycles powered by Crosley Brands we learn much about one of the oldest continuous riding clubs in America and it is 100% female riders. These ladies ride to every event on their own motorcycles and record many touring miles in doing so! They ride to their national Convention from the four corners of the USA! Frances Lemen bought her first motorcycle in 1959 at 22 years old. It was a BMW airhead and she has put big miles on 4 of those! She still has a 1975 BMW R90/6 with 1973 Toaster Tank bodywork that has had three speedometers. The cool thing is she still owns it. Frances joins us LIVE to discuss her riding history, the historical importance, the present and the future of the Motor Maids and her involvement in it. Lee Ann Stephenson calls us LIVE to give her account of how she became a motorcyclist, how she became involved in the Motor Maids and why she sees it as a vital link for women riders in America. The female market is driving the motorcycle industry and has for about the last 8 to 9 years. As the fastest growing segment of the market, today's women are looking for a way to increase their miles safely and improve their skill sets as a rider plus find like minded individuals to enjoy touring with. Motor Maids is definitely a way of doing all that and more for certain women riders! Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone is powered by Crosley Brands! Special thanks to: the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Russ Brown Motorcyle Attorneys and Dunlop Motorcycle Tires!
