In S3Ep14 of the PRP, Adam chops it up with blossoming distance runner, hobby photographer extraordinaire, sophisticated fashionmonger and proud father, Aaron Barfield who has been preparing for the Detroit Free Press International Half Marathon on Sunday October 15th, 2023. Candice Whitfield, retired running phenom, ardent mental health advocate, swagtastic mama bear and Aaron's better half joins the show to offer her take on all things Ypsilanti, the family and of course Aaron's obsession with running.  Aaron and Candice provide a look into their quaint life style as intimate partners, best friends, and most importantly, parents. Although having children together at such a young age presented them with a number of challenges both independently and as a team, they live life with no regrets and are thankful each day for the family and life that they have built with one another. From getting the boys to school on time, to spending QT with their extended families, to lampin with the homies, the two humbly admit they are livin' good.  Things get vulnerable when Aaron discusses his relationship with the sport and provides insight into how he checks himself before he wrecks himself. As someone with only a couple years of disciplined training under his belt, Aaron offers some insight that is wise beyond his years surrounding cultivating a healthy relationship with running. Colleen provides an in depth look at the history of PR Run Club and sheds light on its humble beginnings decades ago. The PRP listenership then learns about her rapid shift from living in the hustle & bustle of a big city to a much more low key lifestyle in Ann Arbor and how running played a major role during this transitory phase of her life. Shannon Kohlitz, decorated local legend, major PR Run Club OG, video & animation entrepreneur and Colleen's best friend, joins the show to offer her reticent insight into all things life and running. Although Shannon may be a woman of few words, the words she does choose to share carry some serious weight as she drops stoic tidbits here and there throughout the episode. Things get vulnerable when Colleen opens up and discusses some of the challenges she has endured while attempting IVF for a number of years. From the physical exhaustion, to the emotional tax, to the financial hardships of the process, Colleen breaks down just how difficult this undertaking can become. This mix is an exploration of releases from 1995 on the Fax label recorded at a private gathering in Kentucky. Rob Theakston is a name that may not be familiar to most of you, but will be instantly recognizable to anyone involved in the 90s Detroit techno scene, where he was a key antagonist and DJ. He worked at Planet E 1998-2000, Ghostly during the first few years, and had residencies with Recloose at Motor Lounge and Necto in Ann Arbor with Matt Dear and Sam Valenti. He released two EPs as Circuitry for Acoustic Division, including remixes from The Bunker's own Derek Plaslaiko and Patrick Russell. He's currently in a techno retirement of sorts in Kentucky, where he is the editor of Drinkhacker.com, and definitely knows more about whiskey than anyone you know.

 ERIC CLOUTIER  (The Bunker | TANSTAAFL | Down || Berlin) Born and bred in Michigan, and currently based in Berlin, Eric Cloutier is one of a new generation of American DJs bridging the gap between dance music's past and its future.His sets have a sprawling depth and sophistication that fuses the brooding intensity of tripping techno with the mechanic funk of contemporary house.Cloutier started spinning records in 1996, quickly establishing himself in Detroit's competitive local scene, holding down residencies at The Necto and prominent afterhoursspot The Works. This led to a job booking Oslo, where he brought the likes of Richie Hawtin, Luciano and Michael Mayer to town, as well as handing out residencies to local legends Three Chairs and Stacey Pullen.In 2006, Cloutier made the jump to New York and quickly established himself, earning a residency at the premiere monthly techno night The Bunker and midweek soiree Den ofThieves. He's also begun his own night, Down, in which he often stretches out to play lengthy sets that showcase his range, effortlessly threading together deeper shades of house and dubinfused techno. Word has been spreading too: 2009 saw Cloutier recording two mixes for the mnml ssgs podcast series, beginning to work in the studio for the first time on his own material, making his European DJing debut and getting tapped to play at Japan's renowned Labyrinth Festival. That latter honor may be the most telling of all: Only a select few are asked to spin at Labyrinth. (It's the provenance of studious selectors like Daniel Bell, Donato Dozzy and Peter Van Hoesen.) To not only spin in their company, but to have ably held his own should tell you all you need to know about Eric Cloutier: He's a DJ for whom quality—above all else—is the watchword.
