There is a big black heart in Barcelona that it is still beating. Three weeks later, we're still digesting the magic that was the fourth edition of Mostra festival. From the most intimate listening moments to collective catharsis on the dancefloor, this year was something else. Starting from the end this year, we're proud to present the recorded closing set from Mostra's resident ABSIS, who delivered a deeply emotional finale that distilled everything Mostra stands for: a blend of force, finesse, energy and passion — all woven into one. Across four editions, countless moments, different days and stages, ABSIS has always been there: reading the different dance floors, adapting, connecting the dots between sound and feelings. Being a resident is more than just playing; it's embodying the festival's pulse, giving it identity and continuity, and raising the collective experience to another level. If you've journeyed with Mostra through the years, you know how central ABSIS (alongside Timnah and Patrick Russell) has been to shaping that Mostra spirit. If you haven't yet, you may find the chance next year. And now, for the first time: ABSIS closing the festival. A powerful tribute to what it means to support the local scene, not just by listing names from the city, but by creating moments like this one that matters. Sarah Wreath has spent years moving through different corners of electronic music, sharpening her craft in deliberate yet effortless ways. Ambient, sound baths, live sets, techno, halftime—she doesn't just dabble; she inhabits these spaces fully, shaping them with a deep understanding of sound and rhythm. Her range is what sets her apart, allowing her to move between intimate, meditative settings and full-throttle dance floors without missing a step. Last year was a big one. Her debut album on The Bunker NY hit the right people in the right way, opening doors that led to a standout set at The Bunker party in Brooklyn alongside Nobu, Patrick Russell, and Doltz, a tour through Japan, and a string of upcoming EPs—including one for the legendary Sandwell District, set to drop in just a few weeks. This time last year, we featured Sarah in our Sundays Are For… series with a beautifully haunting set. Today, she flips the perspective. Her Delayed with… mix isn't just about atmosphere—it's about movement. The sound is weighty but fluid, shifting between tightly wound rhythms and wide-open space. There's a physicality to it, driven by thick, rolling low-end and textures that hover between sharp and submerged. It's techno built for full immersion, the kind that keeps pulling you in without ever demanding too much. Sarah Wreath is one of those artists who make techno feel limitless. And if this mix is any indication, she's only just getting started. https://soundcloud.com/sarahwreath https://www.instagram.com/sarahhwreath Text by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Saturday at the Mostra Festival will be remembered as a true celebration of techno, from Bas Dobbelaer's opening set at the Foso stage to Sonic Wave Collective's closing set at the Castell. That afternoon, the Foso stage hosted three artists: Bas Dobbelaer, Tevor Handa, and Patrick Russell. We were already familiar with Bas and Patrick's exceptional skills behind the decks, but Tevor Handa was an unknown to us. However, we had complete faith in Alfonso's (programming director of Mostra Festival) impeccable taste and programming, and we were excited to hear a DJ who is a local favorite and a discovery for some in the crowd (including us) that day. Following an outstanding opening set by Bas Dobbelaer, Tevor took over and delivered one of the festival's standout performances. Olmo Rodríguez, aka Tevor Handa, showcased deep techno that perfectly matched the open-air, daytime atmosphere. His mix was groovy, engaging, intricate, and well-balanced. It wasn't just about avoiding fillers or chasing killers; it was a solid track selection, with each track bringing its unique flair. Every track stood out, whether it was an infectious groove, a trippy liquid synth line, or a lush, mellow melody. That Saturday, Tevor Handa won us over, and we are thrilled to present his mix on our channel. https://soundcloud.com/tevorhanda https://www.instagram.com/olmo_rodriguez/ https://soundcloud.com/mostrabcn https://www.instagram.com/mostrabcn/ https://www.mostra.barcelona/eng/ text by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.itsdelayed.com https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed

Only a handful of producers can stay true to a genre while dodging mediocrity and clichés. One such producer is Jaime Romero, aka Estrato Aurora, a Valencia native who's been our favorite for years. His productions are warped, edgy, and perennially inventive, inspiring countless producers to follow his unique path – a true trendsetter. Today, Estrato Aurora takes the wheel and revisits Hiver's track "Time Lapse" from On Board Music's Point C compilation (released three years ago). The Valencian maestro dismantles the original's heady, trippy, low-slung rumble, crafting a hypnotic halftime odyssey. A warm, melancholic analog synth melody cuts through the murky groove, persistently driving the entire track forward. Balancing these contrasting elements within a single track is a challenge, and crafting something so recognizable that it works across various DJ sets and settings is even more impressive. But Jaime pulls it off effortlessly, keeping things fresh and engaging. Estrato Aurora's remix joins Erika, Polygonia, Patrick Russell, and Forest On Stasys, on what promises to be a stellar release from the consistently impressive On Board Music. Point C - Remixes drops April 26th. https://soundcloud.com/lovebas https://soundcloud.com/on-board-music https://www.instagram.com/estrato_aurora/ https://www.instagram.com/on_boardmusic/ Write up by https://soundcloud.com/gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.itsdelayed.com https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed

The collaboration between us and the Mostra festival gets a new chapter, and this one is quite special - the recording of the festival's closing set by incredibly talented Japanese artist Lynne. Throughout the festival, Mostra showcased carefully selected talent, emphasizing quality above all else. Lynne's DJ set at Mostra was a testament to her unparalleled talent and expertise. With a keen understanding of the festival's needs and the audience's energy, Lynne took us on a unique journey that left us in awe. And it wasn't an easy task for Lynne. She had to follow the exceptional 4-hour set by Patrick Russell, but she pushed the bar even higher, leaving a lasting impression that we still talk about three months later. As the fatigue of the four-day music marathon loomed over the crowd, she fearlessly embraced the challenge of delivering an unforgettable closing performance. Lynne's selection of powerful half-time drum&bass ignited a fiery energy within Castell Du Monjuic, transforming the atmosphere into a seething cauldron of sound. The recording of this set captures every electrifying moment, delivering an experience that rivals the memories we hold in our minds. Prepare to be swept away as Lynne showcases drum'n'bass 2.0, infusing it with her unique and awe-inspiring artistry. https://soundcloud.com/lynne-tokyo https://www.instagram.com/lynne_tokyo/ https://soundcloud.com/mostrabcn https://www.instagram.com/mostrabcn/ https://www.mostra.barcelona/eng/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

Queensland police say the Wieambilla shooting is a terrorist attack motivated by premillennialism. Here's what that means Queensland police say Wieambilla shooting was 'a religiously motivated terrorist attack' Deputy Commissioner Linford said police had been investigating Stacey Train's diary, as well as the trio's texts, social media postings and 190 interviews. "What we've been able to glean from that information is that the Train family members subscribe to what we would call a broad Christian fundamentalist belief system, known as premillennialism," she said. Deputy Police Commissioner Linford said the trio saw police "as monsters and demons". She said the COVID pandemic, climate change, global conflicts and social disparity contributed to their belief in their system. "Whilst the behaviour was similar in some respect to sovereign citizens, we don't believe this was connected to a sovereign citizen ideology, we believe it's connected to the Christian extremist ideology," she said. "There was a belief that Christ will return to the Earth for 1,000 days, and provide peace and prosperity. "But it will be preceded by an era, or a period of time of tribulation, widespread destruction and suffering. "They started preparing for the end of days." Police are working with the FBI in the United States over people who commented on the Train's social media posts. She said, "Christian extremist ideology has been linked to other attacks in the world." This is just my opinion. In collaboration with our friends at Mostra (@mostrabcn), our latest mix highlights a personal favorite from the upcoming festival's roster. New York's Vicki Siolos (@vickisiolos) is an eminently thoughtful curator whose mindfulness shines through in her deliberate, insightful track selections and the programming of her Bright Patterns show on The Lot Radio. In fact Vicki and I have been discussing this particular contribution for over two years now, and through that conversation it became clear how deeply Vicki's artistic expression ties into her lived experiences and the process of meaningful reflection. Vicki's timely contribution speaks volumes and simple truths: a gasp, an ache, a salve. Vicki will be joining Patrick Russell & Ulla from the US at the first edition of Mostra, a new small-format festival taking place April 11-17 in Barcelona. The lineup hosts more than a few friends & favorites of the label, and the festival promises an experience that is local, inclusive, and sustainable. Taylor Bratches is a DJ, producer and writer based in New York. She curates the mix series Walking and Falling, an appendage of the Chicago-based DJ mentorship program for female and non-binary artists. As a lifelong poet and dancer, her relationship to rhythm is intimate and ever-evolving. Heavily influenced by artists like Erika, Patrick Russell, Eris Drew, Sassmouth, Abby Echiverri and Derek Plaslaiko, her sets aim to fuse genres and to move people physically and spiritually, creating an experience that is both terrestrial and extraterrestrial. She has an upcoming release on Enmossed and writes for Resident Advisor. artist statement: "This mix features selected tracks from Skee Mask, Somatic Responses, Objekt, Sam KDC, Yaleesa Hall, revlux, Alonzo, and others. It was made in ecstatic joy - I was jumping up and down and dancing in front of my CDJs while mixing. I improvised it in one take and lead with my intuition. Then I listened to it back and started to wonder: is it too intense? Too challenging? Too weird/psychotic? Too psychedelic? Too imperfect? Too emotional? Too dance-oriented? Too hybrid? Then I realized: this describes exactly who I am. So this mix not only represents what I'm drawn to currently, but me on some fundamental level." - Taylor Bratches

Welcome, friends, to a brand-spankin' new episode of Oilersnation Radio. This week, we looked back at the trip of horrible losses to the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild, tried to figure out what the hell is going on with the goaltending, looked at the way Leon Draisaitl is covered in the media, and a whole lot more. To start off this week's show, we looked back on the last three losses the Oilers have suffered, which all featured comebacks by our boys but ended in losses anyway. What is going one that allows the Oilers to rally with the goals they need only to have the game slip through their fingers once the score is tied? Is it team defence? Is it goaltending? Speaking of goaltending, we looked at the hardships Mike Smith is working through right now as his play has faded tremendously since his hot start to the season. Can he get back to playing at his best, or is this more along the lines of what we should expect from the 37-year-old keeper? From there we looked at the forward lines, specifically thinking of Sam Gagner and what he needs to do to stick in the lineup. Seeing as he doesn't kill penalties, should his .5 points per game be enough to keep him playing over someone else like Patrick Russell? Lastly, we finished up this week's podcast with by answering some listener questions, debuting Hernan's hot takes, and offering up score predictions for tomorrow's game against the Leaves. For the first time this season, the Oilers are looking to bounceback from a loss after failing to pick up two points against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday night. Despite the fact that they're coming off a loss, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the Oilers right now. Not only are they 5-1-0 on the year, but their next two games are against teams that will be playing in the second half of back-to-back games. Tonight, they'll welcome the Philadelphia Flyers to Ice District. After starting the year with two straight wins, the Flyers are currently on a two-game losing streak and coming to the end of a tough travel schedule. Out of their four games this season, three have been in different time zones. On positive for Philly is that they'll have Carter Hart between the pipes and he has been nothing but fantastic throughout his young NHL career. The Oilers will also have a bit of a different look tonight when they take to the ice. Forward Joakim Nygard will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a rib injury which means that Patrick Russell draws back in. Mikko Koskinen will also start between the pipes for the home side. I went through all of that and more in today's Pre-Game podcast which you can download directly in this article or by heading to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Google Play!
Listen to Katherine Sikma interview and commission Patrick Russell into his work as an architect.
Connor McDavid made his return to the Oilers, but the team was flat in a 4-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes. David Staples and Bruce McCurdy of the Cult of Hockey dig into how the bubble players did in the game, assessing Josh Archibald, Colby Cave, Sam Gagner, Patrick Russell and others. They also discuss Evan Bouchard's placement in the AHL.
Edmonton has now had two rookie games and three pre-season games, enough to judge whether some prospects deserve to stay in the NHL, while some deserve to go the Bakersfield of the AHL. Bruce McCurdy and David Staples of the Edmonton Journal weigh in on players like Tyler Benson, Dmitri Samorukov, Caleb Jones, Joel Persson and Patrick Russell, who all played in Edmonton's 6-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks
We are very excited to feature San Francisco DJ and friend Wyatt (@gingiewyatt) for our latest podcast. Strap in because he isn't playing around in this searing acid techno set! Wyatt is a queer-identifying dancefloor maniac and avid lover of acid techno and trance who, alongside Alex Liberman, is half of the new super cute psychedelic dj-duo Adub. Some of his main influences include: Thomas P. Heckmann, SPF DJ, Noncompliant, Carlos Souffront, Volvox, Sugar, Juana, Patrick Russell, LSDXOXO, and all his amazingly talented friends!
Hear from Oilers forward Patrick Russell after he signed a two-year contract extension. Then, the legendary Wayne Gretzky discusses game sevens, the Stanley Cup Final, the Raptors and more. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With Bakersfield down 2-0 to the San Diego Gulls in the AHL, Bruce McCurdy and David Staples of The Cult of Hockey talk about the top Edmonton Oilers prospects on that team, Caleb Jones, Tyler Benson, William Lagesson, Joe Gambardella, Patrick Russell and Ethan Bear, then dig into the rumours around Detroit Red Wings hockey boss coming to the Edmonton Oilers.
The farm team of the Edmonton Oilers won their first playoff game, with the Bakersfield Condors beating the Colorado Eagles 3-2. It was a dominating performance for the Condors, an auspicious start to their playoffs, with strong performances from Joe Gambardella, Patrick Russell, Ethan Bear, William Lagesson and others.
Joining us on our next podcast is Mysteries of the Deep founder Grant Aaron, who began the New York-based project in 2011 as a podcast and event series for ambient and experimental music, hosting the likes of Neel and Patrick Russell, before expanding it to a label in 2017. In true form Grant has provided us with a mostly-ambient mix, an hour which evolves patiently and profoundly over its course. Grant covers grand territory with his selections, dealing in sparse instrumentation, sweeping drones, and pared-down percussion, weaving these elements into a moving and cohesive whole. Dive in now, or save this one to accompany you on an upcoming journey. It’s worth the wait. More from Grant Aaron (Mysteries of the Deep): @mysteriesofthedeep @insideout
This mix is an exploration of releases from 1995 on the Fax label recorded at a private gathering in Kentucky. Rob Theakston is a name that may not be familiar to most of you, but will be instantly recognizable to anyone involved in the 90s Detroit techno scene, where he was a key antagonist and DJ. He worked at Planet E 1998-2000, Ghostly during the first few years, and had residencies with Recloose at Motor Lounge and Necto in Ann Arbor with Matt Dear and Sam Valenti. He released two EPs as Circuitry for Acoustic Division, including remixes from The Bunker's own Derek Plaslaiko and Patrick Russell. He's currently in a techno retirement of sorts in Kentucky, where he is the editor of Drinkhacker.com, and definitely knows more about whiskey than anyone you know.

// OGLE-2012-BLG-0026L c > DF-18 // Incoming transmission: Patrick Russell Patrick Russell is one of the more under-the-radar DJs who hail from Detroit. The reason for that is his uncompromising style. He plays what he wants, not what he thinks you want to hear. Finally the world is catching up and the man brought up on the Midwest rave scene is making wider waves. He is a core member of the No Way Back party that reinterpret the city’s rave past for a new audience, and will be one of the many DJs playing Dekmantel Festival in August, so we invited him into our series to show off his skills. His sixty minute mix is a heady world of creepy and paranoid techno. From the sort of warped, 4am soundtracks that makes best sense in a pitch black club to brain frying and peak time stuff that bashes you round the head, it’s always on the move and always keeping you guessing.
On Saturday December 1, 2007, a snowy night in Detroit, Interdimensional Transmissions thew a party called No Way Back. We had no idea how people would react, we just felt the scene needed this. The space was unfinished, and as the snow storm outside escalated the heat inside from the crowd began to melt the snow on the raw roof, making in literally rain on the dance floor. The party didn't end until around 5PM. This inaugural No Way Back is known as "the original truth in advertising leaky warehouse NWB" and this set from BMG is the only recording from this legendary party. In GBA 278 we get even better acquainted with my dad. We sit down to talk about his working life making documentary films about the coal mining industry and the communities who provided it their labour, and we do touch on that frequently, but we also end up talking about lots and lots of other things. Threading through the conversation are the changes, both physical and mental, that have happened to my dad over the last few years. He's currently 92 so the underlying themes of the conversation are memory, age and death.
