Have you ever been in and out of hospital so many times that everyone around you quietly stopped believing you'd ever get better, so you started to believe it too? This episode is for you."This week on the Full of Beans Podcast, I'm joined by Hannah Whitfield, a creative activist, writer, speaker, performer and founder of Legally Detained - a lived-experience-led creative platform transforming survival into power through art, activism and unapologetic storytelling. Her work explores neurodivergence, trauma, mental health systems, eating disorder recovery, inclusion and the power of creative expression. Through speaking, writing, performance, consultancy and her podcast No Longer Legally Detained, Hannah challenges systems that ask people to become smaller to survive, and instead creates work that says: we were never broken - we were surviving worlds that were never built with us in mind.In this episode, we explore:Where Legally Detained came fromHannah's experience of psychiatric admissionsBeing placed on a ward that didn't believe her eating disorder was "real" Becoming a "revolving door patient" across CAMHS, adult services, and secure careThe problem with BMI criteria as a gatekeeper for treatmentWhere restrictive practice crosses the line from safety into crueltyThe rock-bottom moment that changed everythingHow an ADHD diagnosis helped Hannah understand her own patterns for the first timeReframing recovery: it's not a "utopia," it's learning to ride the waveWhy purpose and belonging, not just words, are what help people recoverConnect with Us:Subscribe to the Full of Beans PodcastFollow Full of Beans on InstagramCheck out our websiteListen on YouTubeConnect with Hannah via Instagram @legallydetained, her website, blog, or podcast: No Longer Legally Detained. ⚠️ Content Note: This episode contains discussions of eating disorder treatment, inpatient care, and iatrogenic harm. Dr. Whitfield discusses his team's published research analyzing capsule tissue from hundreds of patients using PCR testing, and what that data shows about bacterial contamination rates compared to smaller prior studies. He explains how genetic variation in detox pathways — including methylation and glucuronidation — may influence how patients respond to surgical devices, and how his team uses this information as part of pre-surgical planning.

Matthew 13:1-23On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea.Such large crowds gathered around himthat he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying:“A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit,a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”The disciples approached him and said,“Why do you speak to them in parables?” He said to them in reply,“Because knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heavenhas been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted. To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich;from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, becausethey look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand. Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:You shall indeed hear but not understand, you shall indeed look but never see.Gross is the heart of this people, they will hardly hear with their ears, they have closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyesand hear with their earsand understand with their hearts and be converted, and I heal them. “But blessed are your eyes, because they see,and your ears, because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous peoplelonged to see what you see but did not see it,and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."Hear then the parable of the sower. The seed sown on the path is the onewho hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it,and the evil one comes and steals awaywhat was sown in his heart. The seed sown on rocky groundis the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. But he has no root and lasts only for a time. When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word,he immediately falls away. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the wordand it bears no fruit. But the seed sown on rich soilis the one who hears the word and understands it,who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.”

Due to circumstances beyond our control, this week's episode of the Guelph Politicast is a combination of two interviews from recent editions of Open Sources Guelph. Housing remains a big issue in this city, as we saw as recently as last night's council meeting, but housing is an Ontario-wide issue too so for this episode of the pod we will open our gaze to areas beyond our borders. Two times now, Waterloo Region has tried to evict a homeless encampment on the site of proposed transit hub project in Kitchener, and twice an Ontario court has upheld the Charter rights of the people living there. Now, the Region and the Ontario government are trying to take things to the Court of Appeals, but will they have any greater success there? In part one, Waterloo Region Community Legal Services executive director Ashley Schuitema, who represents the residents, will tell us why she's holding all the cards. For years, we've been waiting for all levels of government to make substantial progress on getting more affordable homes built, but some advocates are now wondering if maybe working within the present system is worth their while. In part 2 we will be joined by Matt Whitfield and Gaetan Heroux, organizers of the People's Assembly for Housing Justice, who tell us why fighting Toronto's housing crisis may not involve getting involved in the local election this fall. So let's look at some housing issues beyond the immediate Guelph area on this week's Guelph Politicast! You can learn more about the Waterloo Region Community Legal Services, including updates about the fight for the Kitchener encampment on their website. You can learn more about the Parkdale Housing Justine Network on Instagram and you can learn about the Toronto Tenant Union at their website. If you would like to learn more about Guelph's own nascent tenant union will be taking part in Breezy Breakfast this Thursday at 8 am at Uptown Grill. The host for the Guelph Politicast is Podbean. I've been trying to book this guest for over ten years. Why? Because almost no one in medicine is willing to talk honestly about what's actually happening inside breast implants, including bacteria, biofilm, and the heavy metals leaching into your body. I finally sat down with Dr. Robert Whitfield, one of the few surgeons in the country specializing in breast implant illness and explant surgery. We explore a 2024 study he published showing nearly 30% of implant capsules tested positive for bacterial contamination, why he removes the entire capsule during explant, and which heavy metals show up most often. He also talks about potential issues with infrared saunas if you still have implants, and how patients can experience dramatic symptom relief after explant surgery and removal of the capsule tissue. If you have implants or are simply implant-curious, tune in and learn what your plastic surgeon likely isn't telling you.   "In 2024, we published a large series of PCR tests. We found that 29% of 694 consecutive specimens had bacterial contamination." ~ Dr. Robert Whitfield   In This Episode: - Dr. Whitfield's reconstructive surgery background  - How bacteria attach to implants  - What is breast implant illness?   - What toxins are in breast implants?  - Common symptoms of breast implant illness  - Should you use a sauna with implants?  - Current understanding of implant safety in the medical community - Patient recovery stories after removing implants - How to prepare for explant surgery  - Do all implants leak heavy metals?    Products & Resources Mentioned: Educational Resources on Breast Implants: Explore additional information, study results, and podcasts on breast implants, or book a consultation call with Dr. Robert Whitfield at https://www.drrobertwhitfield.com/  Join Dr. Whitfield's Private Community: Access uncensored education, holistic health protocols, and exclusive weekly lives at https://drrobscircle.com/  Buy Dr. Whitfield's First Book: The SHARP Method-- Strategic Holistic Accelerated Recovery Program https://amzn.eu/d/01ByBgMQ  His Latest  Book:  Breast Implants, Explant Surgery, and Breast Implant Illness with Robert Whitfield, MD– A Comprehensive Guidebook to Fat Transfer, Holistic Surgical Recovery, and the SHARP MethodTM https://amzn.eu/d/09fB26Qm  Bon Charge Red Light Face Mask: Get 15% off sitewide, plus free shipping and a 12-month warranty, with code WENDY at https://boncharge.com/  Organifi Happy Drops: Save 20% with code MYERSDETOX at https://organifi.com/myersdetox     Heavy Metals Quiz: Check your toxicity score and receive a free video series on how to detox your body. Dr. Kim shares his own health crisis (a heart attack at age 33 caused by undiagnosed Bartonella and mold toxin exposure) and explains how mycotoxins like aflatoxin, ochratoxin, and gliotoxin damage cell membranes, disrupt bile flow, fuel biofilm formation, and contribute to neuroinflammation, mast cell activation, and parasitic susceptibility. The conversation dives deep into the science of cell danger response, phospholipid membrane repair, drainage pathway support, and why aggressive detox protocols can backfire without proper preparation. Dr. Whitfield connects these findings to his clinical work with breast implant illness patients, including PCR testing data showing biofilm formation on breast implants and its relationship to environmental toxin exposure. Topics covered include: How mold toxicity can mimic cardiac symptoms and trigger misdiagnosis The role of phospholipids, SPM-based fish oil, and essential fatty acids in repairing damaged cell membranes Why biofilms form and how they protect bacteria, mold, and heavy metals from the immune system The gut-liver-bile connection and enterohepatic recirculation of mycotoxins Nervous system regulation, mast cell activation, and why "safety" must come before aggressive detox Practical guidance on binders, glutathione precautions, sleep hygiene, and pre-surgical detox protocols—————————————————————————— Ready to take the next step?Book a Discovery Call → https://discovery.drrobertwhitfield.com (https://discovery.drrobertwhitfield.com/)Learn about the SHARP Method (Strategic Holistic Accelerated Recovery Program) → https://www.drrobertwhitfield.com/sharpJoin Dr. Rob's Circle (private community, 390+ members) → https://drrobscircle.com (https://drrobscircle.com/)——————————————————————————Dr. Robert Whitfield, MD, FACS is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Austin, Texas, specializing in breast implant illness (BII), explant surgery, and holistic surgical recovery. What if the pain you've learned to live with isn't something you have to accept forever? In this episode, Dr. Robert Whitfield shares a moment that stopped him in his tracks — a patient who had quietly lost the ability to open a water bottle, turn a jar lid, or walk through a door without pain. She hadn't even fully realized how much her body had taken over her daily life. Then, within one to two weeks after her procedure, something remarkable happened. She was watching a movie with her husband when she noticed she was opening and closing her hands — without pain. Her husband ran to the kitchen, grabbed a water bottle, and said, "Open this." She did. Then a jar. Then a door. The inflammation that had been silently accelerating her arthritis and deforming her hands had been driving her symptoms all along. Dr. Whitfield breaks down why stories like this matter — not just emotionally, but clinically. Grip strength, balance, and thigh strength are foundational to longevity and quality of life. Chronic inflammation doesn't always announce itself dramatically. Sometimes it quietly steals the small things — until they're gone. In this episode, you'll hear about: How chronic inflammation can silently accelerate joint degeneration and arthritis Why grip strength is a critical and often overlooked marker of long-term health The connection between brain fog, systemic inflammation, and implant-related illness Why patients often adapt to pain and limitation without realizing the full extent of their loss How the SHARP Method supports recovery that goes far beyond the surgical site If you or someone you love has been told their symptoms are "just aging" or "stress," this episode is essential listening. Matthew 9:36—10:8At the sight of the crowds, Jesus' heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples,“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;so ask the master of the harvestto send out laborers for his harvest.”Then he summoned his twelve disciplesand gave them authority over unclean spiritsto drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. The names of the twelve apostles are these:first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew;James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus;Simon from Cana, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.Jesus sent out these twelve after instructing them thus,“Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town.Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”

Another week, another round of chaos. This week on The Whitfield Report Live, Sam Whitfield and the crew break down the biggest controversies dominating social media, the courts, and the culture war. Joining Sam this week is Craig D. Mansfield, filling in for Max Sand, who is under the weather.First, the internet erupted after YouTube creator Jesse Ridgway found himself at the center of a heated abortion controversy that quickly spiraled into a broader debate about personal responsibility, modern relationships, and the state of online discourse. The panel examines why these stories capture so much attention and what they reveal about today's digital culture.Next, we dive into the results of the highly discussed Karmelo Anthony trial and the public reaction surrounding the case. Was justice served? Why has the response been so polarized? Sam and Craig separate fact from emotion and examine the broader implications of the verdict.Plus, Antifa activists disrupted a Turning Point USA event, once again raising questions about free speech, political activism, and the growing divide in American culture. We discuss why these confrontations continue to happen, how the media frames them, and what they say about the current state of political engagement in the United States. All that and more, including commentary on the latest headlines, internet insanity, and whatever fresh madness the week decides to throw our way.

Jesus said to them,"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my bloodhas eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my bloodremains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent meand I have life because of the Father,so also the one who feeds on mewill have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."

Alan Smith opens a new opinion and commentary format with Jeff Rowland, and this episode takes a hard look at Spiritual Pushback through Acts 19, Daniel 10, Ephesians 6, and the story of George Whitfield. This teaching makes one clear point, when God starts moving in your life, resistance often follows. Alan breaks down why pushback is often a sign of progress, how unseen opposition shows up in prayer, decision-making, and obedience, and why believers must learn how to stand instead of retreat. You'll also hear the connection between Whitfield's life, open-air preaching, and the spread of revival. From prison ministry to the fields of Philadelphia, the message stays the same, God's word does not need perfect conditions to work. Alan also brings Benjamin Franklin into the discussion, along with the way Whitfield's influence reached far beyond the church walls. The lesson then moves into Ephesians 6 and the armor of God. Truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the word of God, and prayer all matter when spiritual pressure rises. If you've felt confusion, pressure, or resistance while trying to obey God, this message gives that experience a biblical frame. This episode is part teaching, part commentary, and part practical encouragement for anyone who wants to understand Pushback with clarity and faith. What does real recovery actually look like one year out? In Episode 170, Dr. Robert Whitfield is joined by Hannah, a patient from Montana who is marking her one-year anniversary since implant removal surgery. Hannah spent nearly three and a half years seeking answers — cycling through specialists, ERs, and countless tests — before finding a clinical path that addressed what was actually happening in her body. Her story is detailed, honest, and covers what most recovery conversations leave out. What Hannah experienced before surgery: Brain fog so severe that if something wasn't written down, it was forgotten. Extreme fatigue that kept her on the couch most of the day. Significant hair loss — particularly difficult given her two decades in the hair industry. Food sensitivities so severe she could only tolerate bananas and avocados, and a two-year period where animal protein triggered anaphylactic reactions requiring an EpiPen. Heart palpitations, GI disruption, and convulsions that prompted ER visits — with every blood panel coming back within normal range. What the clinical picture actually showed: Hannah's toxicity profile revealed elevated tin (at seven times the normal level — a known neurotoxin), BPA, glyphosate, dimethyl phosphates, aflatoxins, and ochratoxins. Her PCR results indicated bacterial contamination on the implant. Dr. Whitfield explains how this combination — compromised detox genetics, high toxic burden, and a device-associated bacterial load — creates the environment that drives the systemic symptoms Hannah was experiencing. Where she is one year later: Energy restored. Animal protein reintroduced successfully. Brain fog resolved. Landscaping her yard. Making and keeping plans with friends. And acutely aware of her environment in a way she wasn't before — including recognizing a mold-contaminated Airbnb in San Diego that her cleared system immediately flagged. Dr. Whitfield and Hannah also discuss: Why the detox protocol after surgery matters as much as the procedure itself — and why stopping early is one of the most common mistakes The role of a supportive partner and community in recovery, and how to navigate the process without one Why some patients feel an initial lift after surgery before the deeper recovery work begins The real timeline of healing: week over week, month over month — not a straight line The censorship and algorithmic suppression of implant-related health education, and where to find uncensored conversations Hannah's advice to women who are hesitant: You can't put a price tag on your health. You're going to pay for it either way.

Luke 24:13-35That very day, the first day of the week, two of Jesus' disciples were goingto a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus, and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred. And it happened that while they were conversing and debating,Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.He asked them, "What are you discussing as you walk along?"They stopped, looking downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply,"Are you the only visitor to Jerusalemwho does not know of the thingsthat have taken place there in these days?"And he replied to them, "What sort of things?"They said to him, "The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and wordbefore God and all the people, how our chief priests and rulers both handed him overto a sentence of death and crucified him.But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel;and besides all this,it is now the third day since this took place. Some women from our group, however, have astounded us:they were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find his body;they came back and reportedthat they had indeed seen a vision of angelswho announced that he was alive. Then some of those with us went to the tomband found things just as the women had described, but him they did not see."And he said to them, "Oh, how foolish you are!How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these thingsand enter into his glory?"Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets,he interpreted to them what referred to himin all the Scriptures. As they approached the village to which they were going,he gave the impression that he was going on farther. But they urged him, "Stay with us,for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over."So he went in to stay with them. And it happened that, while he was with them at table,he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him,but he vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other,"Were not our hearts burning within uswhile he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?"So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalemwhere they found gathered togetherthe eleven and those with them who were saying,"The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!"Then the two recounted what had taken place on the wayand how he was made known to them in the breaking of bread.
